Last Stand (OC)
Four years ago, you were invited to a special training facility for 'unusual' people. At this facility you learned to survive, against things that most people don't even know exist. The worst of which was called "The Legion". Unfortunately, you were not told who or WHAT The Legion is..
You were chosen for your special gifts, skills, and abilities. Though not 'super human' you had abilities above and beyond those of normal people. (Remember X-men you are not..everything is very limited)
The year is 2011...and you are just graduating from the Facility to become full fledged members of the orginization that recruited you. Everybody was taken to seperate underground bunkers ..where you were to wait until the 'brass' got to you and gave you each your seperate orders. Each bunker had equipment ready .. apparently for whatever assignment you would be going to. (Equipment will be a little different depending on powers, and specialty (explained in a bit))
Time passes, and nobody comes down. Something has gone wrong. Eventually even your patience wears thin..and you open your bunker door..to a city wasteland. The entire City is surrounded by a large wall of Mist..all the vehicles, weapons, people, equipment etc..destroyed (besides what is in your bunkers..and presumably other bunkers). The Mist you recognize as a sign of The Legion..and some bunkers are completely covered in Mist (for now). Going through the Mist is suicide, but there is no way to get word to anybody (no communications devices left anywhere, and none were in your bunkers either).
The object (thus the name of the game) is to survive as long as possible. However, it is a LAST stand..there is noway out..only a bunch of 'rookies' left (the characters..no NPC's except the creatures (explained in a bit) from the Mist), limited supplies/ammo/etc.. so MAYBE you can hold out till help arrives, maybe not. As soon as you get out (equipment in tow) from your bunkers..they mysteriously collapse, and seem to be one of the few places that was 'safe' from the Legion.
The Legion - Everything that goes bump in the night can possibly be in the Mist. Vampires, Werewolves, Windigo..your imagination is the only limit. Most will crave your flesh..but a few might actually be helpful.
Equipment - Depends on your specialty. Here are the lists of specialties. Hand to hand expert, small arms expert, medium arms expert, explosives expert, Recon Expert, heavy weapons expert (very limited ammo so careful with this one), and Lore expert (weapons are very limited, but they know more about how to beat/what the group is facing..etc..IF nobody picks a LORE expert, I will be playing it but as a player, not an NPC).
This is EXTREAMLY free form, though I am asking that the powers be kept to a minimum. No Kal El's or Captain Marvels..or Prof X's..or such please.
Edit : Oh yes, there is a limit to how many creatures are in the Mist..so somehow killing them ALL will be a victory. There are exactly 2000 possible creature Types in the mist (some will of course have more then one creature for each type).

This sounds kinda fun. But I feel you're being a little vague. How limited is limited. For instance could I be a sniper with incredible focus who has the distinct ability to hide himself just about everywhere?
Also somesort of char template would be usefull. Just throwing it out there.

That would be fine. A black hole opening, immortal sniper..not so much  . As for a template. The 'hide anywhere' sniper is fine, as some of the creatures would not use sight to track..so going through the Mist would still be suicide. The main cut of for abilities, powers, or whatever you want to call them is the following. 1) None of the creatures can harm you or kill you. Because then it would be a short and boring game. IE "Xane walks through the mist secure in the knowledge that none of the Legion can hurt him" ,,what would be the point?
2) A power that makes travel through the Mist easy. Teleporting, super speed, etc.
3) Makes it too easy to defeat the legion..again what would be the point?

Ok, that makes things a lot more clear. I'll give it a go.
Name : Johnston B. Davis
Nationality:American, though Johnston considers himself to be a Confederate American. (i.e. A citizen of the Confederate States of America even though that country does not exist anymore)
Specialty: Sniper.
Power: Exceptional Focus: Johnston can focus himself very well. The Apocalyps might be going on around him, if he focusses on something he wouldn't take a notice of it.
Exceptional Eyesight: Johnston's eyes are practically a sniperscope in themselves. Johnston can see further and more detailed then just about everybody. This eyesight has one drawback and that is that it cannot stand direct light, meaning that Johnston is required to wear sunglasses, or something similar, at all times, even at night.
Hiding: Johnston can hide himself anywhere and remain unnoticable for long periods of time.
Survival: More due to training than an actual power, but Johnston is taught to survive one his own for idefinate periods of time in the wilderness.
Equipement: Experimental Sniper-rifle; Submachine Gun; Combat Knife; Visor Mask; Light Armour; Utility Belt;
Description: Looks; Johnston originated from Richmond, Virginia and is very proud to be a descendant of Jefferson Davis. Johnston considers himself a Southern Gentleman amd strives to act like one at all times.
Nowadays his manners are somewhat dimmed by his Sniper Training. Johnston is starting to exhibit the traits of a Lone Wolf due to his extended solo-missions.

Metalforming: May create weaponry of any sort, so long it involves metal. May also be used to stop small scale bleeding(contains small amounts of metal). Time = quality of the equipment
Shortsight: Can sense many threads of the current future, but not far enough to get a working gamble on(basically may not see that deathtrap coming, or that something disturbed that thread)
Blind: Fredrik is a blind man, this along with special training and genetical enchantments has heightened his combat senses to the human potential, it a shame he is still blind
Equipement:
*A modified combat armor made of a prototype metal alloy, covers the entire body and can be used as makeshift camoflage since it contains various blobs of metal allowing change of color
*Melee combat steel gauntlents
*A modfied Kortknekker F-121 gun along with buildt in vibration dampner, equipped with modified magazines(24 rounds instead of 12), 5 backup clips. Self igniting rounds with silver casing
Description: Sensing the future this young man was abducted and persuaded into training to reach his full potential for the sake of humanity, sadly due recent events that potential will likely never be reached before death enters the stage singing and waiving his scytche.
Being blind, Frekrik is useless at ranges over 10 meters, but due his perception and time sending is able to clear a hard jungle coarse without a fail. This contrast allows him to be unpredictable to his enemies, and the point was even to assign him to stealth missions because he could sense his own misteps.
Guess 1: Monsters are monsters, meaning they will tear trough armor as if it was butter
Guess 2: People seem to ignore this, if we are lucky we should get slaugtherd within 300-400 posts.
Guess 3: Being able to see a few branches of the future means that any surprise attack may or may not be a surprise attack, meaning that it will likely succed anyhow

Name : Mathis (Matt) Namon
Nationality: Africa, but raised in America
Specialty: Lore Specialist
Power: Minor Telekinetic (can move up to three objects that combined weigh only two pounds in weight easily, and up to 3 lbs (one item only at this weight) but that takes time and a lot of concentration). Phase : He can pass through some non organic objects. Moving objects are easier for him to pass through then stationary objects (so a car that is hurtling toward him is easier then a stationary a large desk). However, any thing organic, regardless of size, he can not pass through..at all.
Equipment: Mostly things like holy water, a hand gun, stakes, knives, etc. Nothing large, especially not weapons.
Description: 5'6" African-American with glasses. He dresses like a librarian not a military person.
Ok we assume everybody has some skill in the following.
Hand-To-Hand (including knife fighting)
Survival
Small weapons
Medium weapons
etc (Except for explosives .. ie setting and disarming bombs..granades count as small weapons)
However, unless you are specialized in something, you are only 'ok' at it. So a Sniper can hold his own Hand-To-Hand, but against a Specialist Hand-To-Hand combatant he would lose. A hand-to-hand specialist is great up close, but in a fire fight they would lose..etc.
The creatures would also have 'specialties'..ie a Vampire or Werewolf would be specialist at hand to hand. They will defeat a non- hand to hand specialist in close combat. However, surprisingly in this a Hand to Hand Specialist can hold their own, even with the Vampire and Werewolves supernatural strength/speed..etc. That same Hand-To-Hand specialist would get spanked by a 'Spitter' at a distance, while a Sniper would hold his own..etc.
I will start the IC soon.
Edit : If you introduce something for the 'legion' please make sure to describe it, it's strengths, weaknesses, etc. Doesn't matter if you do it in the OOC or IC.

The reason I have some bunkers that are not collapsed, but mist shrouded is two fold...
One to allow people to join whenever they want. The 'mist' around their bunker will lift, allowing them to 'get out' and join if they come later.
The other of course is to keep us out of said bunkers . Sure we could just all get into a bunker with supplies and wait it out, but what fun is that? 
Oh yeah...Shriekers.
About 5' to 6' long, wings (but flightless), and otherwise look like slugs (without shells or such). Strengths - Very few, except their ability to shriek to alert others of trouble. Weaknesses - Quite a few, they are scavenger only and absolutely no direct threat (though their shriek can get the attention of things that ARE a threat).

I considered joining this as a recon guy but seeing there's one already I think I'll pass.
Oh and "Best be in an open place so nothing can hide near you.", just wtf, lol, are you trying to get killed?
Anyone can tell you the basics start from keeping yourself hidden from the enemy. If they can see you but you can't see them you're as good as dead.
Oh and I was planning cyborg or robot army in the mist. Would that have been acceptable?

Yes. Now I prefer to keep number = to strength but this is very free form so just about ANYTHING is possible. So something kinda slow/weak like a Zombie would have relatively high numbers, while demons or such low numbers. As for Recon, can never have enough recon
Also, my guy is NOT a tactician or such. He is a lore person, he is way out of his element when it comes to stealth, tactics, etc.

No there is a sniper, a recon, and a lore expert.
Also, recon is good and all, but it will not guarantee survival. There are things that go bump in the night that you can KNOW is out there all you want..but if you don't have the firepower .. it won't do you a bit of good.
So Mr. Recon guy might know that the werewolf is coming for him..but there wouldn't be much he could do about it. Especially since I am sure silver bullets are not just laying out in the open.

Sniper IS recon. Or the skills are the same anyways.
One could go with light machine gun, a heavy sniper or RPG but that's about the maximum firepower a person can carry. All of those would need a two man team to gain maximum effectiveness. Mortar is useless with such a small team and would need two man team. Of course one could go bazooka but that's kinda pointless against anything but armored vehicles or perhaps robots. That's where medium weapons end.
Light weapons, assault rifle, sub-machine gun, nothing really that much firepower except the assault rifle.
How far are we technology wise?

You just reminded me that I never started up my own RPG in the same vein (albeit not such a dire initial scenario).
Gah, too many RPG ideas, so little time (the strike in the university is expected to end this week, so there goes my vacations...  )
