witch creature is the best one in the Homm3 series?

My personal oppinion is that the Rust Dragons are the best ones through out the Homm3 series.

they are superior in both defence&offece to all level 7 creatures.

and with it's constant damage and wekening attacks. Weakening attack can be used multiple times on one enemy stack until it's defence value reaches zero. Attack the biggest stacks first to reduce their defence.

What is you guys oppinion? witch creature do you find the most powerfull in the homm3 series ?.

Azure, Rust or Crystal Dragons are strongest by their att/def stats by far.

Playing with Vampire Lords is most relaxing, you send them to fight and forget.

Archangels can also be send into castles in two stacks and resurrects what you lost on last turn.

Beside that, there are many ranged units kills the enemy where he stands.

But as my "favourite unit", I am big fan of Mighty Gorgon. You may cause 1 damage with your Mighty Gorgon stack, you can kill several of the enemy's most precious units like a Black Dragons or Archangels instantly

Azure dragon is far superior to the rust dragon..

They've fearless. Imagine stacking 6 of these at once the enemy will not be able to take a turn on his creatures.

Not counting neutral creatures I like the Cavalier, the Black knight is also very strong... For cheap tactics Vampire Lord or Mighty Gorgons (They can take down lvl 8 creatures like nothing.)

Worst unit is is Wyvern, terrible health & crap ability for a level 6 creature...

Azure Dragons are the best no doubt. No other can ever beat them on 1vs1 situation Possibly Mighty Gorgons are able to but Azures moves first and finish them off before that

iIRC the 10% chance pr. Mighty Gorgon to slay 1 unit from enemy stack isn't really 10% when the unit count is lower than 10. I don't recall ever having the DG going off for e.g. 1-5 Mighty Moos and for 5 it should have gone off 50% of the time.

That's why I've the impression that you need at least 10 to take off one opposing unit, and you can never take off more than [Amount of Mighty Gorgons]/10.

So in principle it may be lower than 10%, because you may take off less than unit count divided by ten, but never more, but since it triggers all the time for higher unit counts it's something one may notice.

By stats alone, Azure > Crystal > Rust. It's funny that while Fearie Dragons are level 8 units, they do lose out to Black Dragons if those two where to face off, which in a way made the Black Dragon marginally more useful. I don't remember how the Gold Dragons do against Faerie Dragons. Since Faerie Dragons "only" have speed 15, I won't be surprised if Gold Dragons can defeat them too for equal stack sizes in e.g. 30 vs 30 or something similarly arbitrary.

Edit: The lowest stats required for a blessed AB to be of equal power (ignoring speed here) to an Azure Dragon is 41/43 in A/D. Then both unit will remove 17.5% of their total health in one attack. Further defense points will be wasted, so improvement can only come from attack. 10 Attack points more and the AB deals maximum damage of a factor of 4 (200, or equivalent of removing 20% hp) on each attack.
Unblessed AB only have an average dmg of 40, and can at a maximum attack, assuming average dmg roll, only remove 16% of the Azure Dragons health in one attack, while the Azure Dragon removes 17.5% of the AB health.

If we assume 2 stat points in A/D pr. hero level on average, then 41/43 would be equivalent to a level 42 hero, if we use an armor spec. with expert armor or an offense spec. with expert offense, not giving these advantage to the hero with the Azure Dragon who's still assumed to be 0/0 in A/D, then for blessed AB, the minimum level required is:
Armor Spec: lvl 29, 15/43 A/D
Offense Spec: lvl 34, 25/43 A/D

Interesting things to notice are e.g. that if one goes for attack in stead of defense, the Armor Spec. would have to be level 34 with 51/17 A/D and a level of 34, equivalent to the offense spec going for defense, so in this case, the defense stat is better than the attack stat.

All it goes to show is how much it matters to have strong heroes with your powerful army.

I would say Power Lichs  because of their attack when they shoot. They also are REALLY good in big groups!

Archdevil is great. Fast, no retal, tactical unit (force field + anti magic make them immune to damage.

Archangel best town unit very well balanced great ability great support for other factions (except necro)
