Possession is quite fun really, can do some really neat things with it. I infiltrated a bathhouse as a fish ^^
I would probably do that if it weren't for my fierce loathing of animals. I've already done my rant about rats, but fish are in some ways even worse. I hate when I fall into the water, and then the fish bite me and I can't do crap except get out of the water and blink away, secretly crying to myself.
Not to mention I waste my runes on Shadow Kill because it looks cool.

Playing Warband, 107 days in lost 5 armies so far, everyone gloats at me 
All I wanted was a castle of my own, so I got a few lords to help me get a decent one promising them that it's lightly defended, turns out that it was the staging point for a nord invasion, my allies ran the wrong way so I had to help them. We got annihilated.
Another defeat was when I got ambushed by an army of cataphracts (30 with some light infantry and skirmishers) I managed to club a few of them with my maul (lol I was thinking of taking prisoners) when I realized that my army was being utterly raped by the heavy cavalry, then their infantry arrived and it was over. Held out for as long as I could, took two more cataphracts down but then I got couched lanced, ouch.
I got a very lovely army, leveled them with fair battles against 50-100 mountain and forest bandits as well as various raiding parties, even managed to crush four nord armies (with the help of allies) and capture 3/4 of their Jarls.
All in all, going very well.
FYI a Cataphract charge will make you litreally **** yourself
Just look at that.

What mod are you playing Tsar? Because there are no cataphracts in Native. Also, which faction do you play as?

The first expansion; Warband. There's a new faction, the Sarranid Sultanate, that have cataphract cavalry, though they're called Sarranid Mamlukes in the game.
Pretty obvious that the two are the same, since there's something of a distinct likeness between Sarranid and Sassanid (google the latter) and the Persian areas were the ones who had cataphracts. They're actually pretty scary in the game, which is a nice change of pace since the other cavalries aren't really all that scary (I mean, nights can be pretty tough, but they're often scarier as infantry and the veteran horse archers are more annoying then lethal).

I haven played Prophesy of Pendor in AGES now. Coming along nicely, is it? I see they fixed the spelling error at least... and zombies? Zombies in Mount n' Blade? Almost makes me wanna go play it again.

Haven't played Warband in a long time either...
Yeah, sometimes huge armies of like 1000 zombie troops spawn. They're weak as hell and oh so satisfying to kill ^^
But you can get overwhelmed completely if you go with higher troop counts (which ya should for more epicness)

I guess mamlukes are pretty much cataphract in everyway except name. Swadian knights are still better though.
Prophecy of Pendor is one of the best mods out there and the Warband version is probably not inferior in any way nowadays to the original version.
Some mods like Blood and Steel got awesome skeletons. Much cooler than zombies.

Still tempted... I'm just a bit demotivated by the fact that I'd want to do it so very properly. I'd set up Dragon NS, get all the mods I want and then do some rather significant tweaking of my own... It's just such an investment setting the game up for me, because if I'm going to play, I'll want to play with voice recognition, huge armies, fancy graphics/sounds and more advanced tactical features.
Why? Because nothing is more epic than having a several hundred soldiers on the field. You climb a hill as your troops divide into several formations and position themselves. You stand there for a while, looking down at the enemy troop. You flick the microphone on; "Archers... Open fire." Only to see a barrage of arrows and a bunch of green text fly by on your screen. Another wave of arrows. "Cavalry. Crush them." and a few wedged formations of cavalry head off, one after the other they crash into the very edge of the enemy formation, wearing it down and the enemy troops disperse as their troops dwindle. "Hussars, on me." you say, as you spur your horse into a gallop and bringing the light cavalry with you as you run down the last opponents.

It's one of those games I always come back to due to strong game play. That's also why I come back to The Binding of Issac, the Blood Bowl series, and the King's Bounty series. They may not be perfect but I love the game play of those series.

I personally was ALL OVER Binding of Isaac and was craving for more. So I was ecstatic when the expansion came out. And all it did for me was make the fun game thoroughly frustrating.
