I haven't tried the two mini-campaigns, so I can't speak to them. As to the revised Armored Princess campaign, there are new artifacts, spells, monsters, trainers, and a few new skills.
What I know so far.
1) Skills: The only thing I have seen new is the Holy Armor ability of Paladins that is listed under the Magic tree. At level 1 it gives a 20% chance to receive %50 damage for one attack. You get it by slaying X amount of light themed characters and returning to a trainer. I like the ability. Haven't upgraded it yet because I'm a little starved for runes right now. From what I've gathered, warriors and mages get a new ability as well.
2) Monsters: The new monsters are pretty much pallette swaps of old monsters but have some interesting abilities.
There is a new elf creature, Fuan or something like that, that resembles a deep green imp. It can resurrect plants, but enemies to sleep, and cause damage to sleeping enemies. In addition, it can lower attack and defense by 1 with each attack.
Humans get a level 5 creature, the Rune Mage that gets stronger with each rune you have that you haven't spent. He can fire a laser beam attack called destruction, resurrect troops, and create phantom troops. 15k a pop and 2000 leadership.
There are also mage hunters (self-explanatory), engineers (who can improve, repair, and create droids, and have shock grenades), new Orc units, ghost pirates, and others I can't think of right now. Ghost pirates are interesting because they will always dig up a treasure chest when they are in the filed AND take 5% of any gold earned for themselves.
Lastly, several monsters have new skills and abilities. Skeletons, for example, can now create three piles of bones on the field and teleport to that position.
3) Spells: Most of the new spells are rage abilities from the original KB. Poison spit is now a distortion magic spell. You get Klobb's armor which is like the shield, school of piranhas which is like the evil shoal, etc, etc. There is also a new chaos spell that summons a burning undead dragon to fight for you.
4) Trainers: You get an item early on that awards you trophies as you fight. With trophies, you can train creatures of a certain level to their upgrades. For example, priests to inquisitors for X amount of gold and trophies. It's a nice feature if you are worried about running out of a certain troop. It does get expensive though.
I have not hit the new quests in the Armored Princess campaign either, so I can't comment on that.
So far, I do not regret buying the game. It isn't radically different from Armored Princess but it is more refined. It does come with an editor (another feature which I haven't used) as well. If you are a fan of the series, I recommend it. I believe I got it for $20 and I think that is a great price for it.

Felt like playing GalCiv2 again but I get sad at my ugly ship designs. It takes fricking ages to make something that looks good.
Does anyone know of any nice downloadable shipdesigns for Twilight of the Arnor? There's a lot of stuff for Dark Avatar but those ship designs end up looking like crap because of the changes in ToA.
Been looking through the Metaverse library but like 90% of the ship designs are for a Terran naval theme. Kinda boring imo, I want something alien yet good looking...

Tough luck kid.
I've run into the same problem.
So unless I'm playing an epic match on hte milkyway with full enemies and horrible slow tech progress I just dumb things so they look somewhat decent.

Thanks, Omega. Maybe I'll check it out after I finish Armored Princess. Or rather after I take a break after Armored Princess. The game is great, but it does have a certain burnout factor to it.

I would have been playing Fable 1, Mass Effect(both 1 & 2) or Dragon Age: Origins if I had a working computer. Seriously, my computer died on my somewhere during June, and I have not yet scrapped enough money to buy a new decent one...
On the video games front however, I am currently shooting for 100% clearance on the Punisher PS2 game. Also been playing a lot of Kingdom Hearts recently, and since Nintendo announced the third golden sun game, I've been playing the two old ones as well.

Oh wait, that's not right. It's Descent II actually. I just currently suck in it so much it could just as well be named as such. Oh what years of inactivity do to one's flying skills...
Descent II is one of the best flyers the gaming world has ever seen and it is still a very, very good game. The gameplay is unmatched even now, 15 years after it arrived. Flying a spaceship inside a mining system, a labyrinth of caves and narrow corridors filled with secrets and ridiculous amount of hostile robots(which are annoyingly good at dodging and shoot better than you) you can try to shoot with 30 weapons and some 10 missiles and a few other nice tricks is just wicked fun. You've got up/down, left/right, bank cw/ccw, slide left/right, slide up/down and accel/decel axels in the game so a good joystick is a must. Only bad side is it does not have forcefeedback support yet. That would have been the cherry on top.
With some fanmade XP projects the game runs well and looks good. Textures have been updated and resolution is unlocked(at least upto 1280x1024). Different coloured lightsources(lasers don't actually shine but here they are so awesome they do!) have corresponding dynamic light effects on all surfaces around them. Lighting a dark pathway with purple lasers followed by an explosion is a pretty view.
Sounds are immersive. The first time you launch your lasers and hear the explosion's bass resonate through the whole building as they hit the walls is breathtaking. You know those times when you go to a movie theater to watch a war movie and there's a an artillery barrage? Forget that. That's nothing.
If you can get the CD audio working there is excellent music to be heard but it seems to still be a problem on XP machines. You can of course put the soundtrack to play on winamp though.
Difficulty curve is steady after you learn how to handle the craft. It will take some time because flying in tight quarters at full speed while dodging hundreds and yet hundreds of enemy weapons you are going to need every single one of those maneuvering axels. And you should try to hit something at the same time too.
