Currently testing Civilization 5, and it's not nearly as bad as Doomforge (AKA Mr. "I play games in a way that makes them easy and unsatisfactory") makes it out to be.

I know. I was just playing as Hiawatha at Prince Difficulty and for some reason the AI just allowed my to chain up Forest Cities right into Napoleon's back Garden. Captured Paris with just a mere TWO Horsemen. (I kept him alive because otherwise Napoleon's neighbours would dogpile me soon enough and my army of two Horsemen wouldn't be able to repel Darius AND Elisabeth AND Askia AND Oda Nobunaga)

30 turns later Darius attack Paris (now a town of mine) with a MASSIVE army of Archers and Warriors, streaked with two-or-three Swordsmen. He kills two of my Warriors with his Archers and my two horsemen kill a warrior, a swordsman and finally an archer of his. He then *RETREATS* and immediately proposes a peace traty, giving me 50 gold as a bonus. WHAT. THE. F???

That AI needs to be fixed, STAT.

Regardless, I still like it a lot. It'll be a challenge to fully develop my Forest Empire and keep it happy enough.

Yeah, we should see if anyone here knows how to make one so we can get a unique HC one. I'll see if I can figure it out, but I not might be the best choice because my internet is terrible.

the biggest problem is that my computer is kinda buggy and for a real nice one we'ed have to pay what like 22$ a month (a few cents a day if we have a bunch of people) but that's a major hassle.

Heh, thanks.

It's really nice to play a campaign that at least doesn't think you're a complete moron and plays babysitter with you while it gradually unlocks 1 unit per mission or something.

In this game I got everything available from the start, though so did my enemies...

I'm not really playing anything at the moment, however I am going to install a game of mine for what is probably going to be the 20th time and play it through.

It is sadly not a very known game, as the release was a somewhat silent one, not many noticed it's release on the market, which is such a shame, since the game itself is very entertaining, whatsoever easily played through in that way, that the game doesn't really take many days to complete.

The game's name is Zanzarah

The concept of the game is very much like Pokemon's
You are a girl named Amy, which is being teleported to a magical world known as Zanzarah. In this world, all the good powers in the world is slowly disappearing due to the hateful shadow elves which seeks to destroy the world.

The game is about fairies.

Like Pokemon, there are various types of fairies to be caught throughout the game, hiding in places which is corresponding to their type.

Of types can be mentioned: grass, stone, fire, ice, etc.

You catch fairies with "fairie spheres" which undoubtly looks like pokeballs do

Like in Pokemon, your fairies levels up, but you have to buy new spells for them to use. As your fairies grow stronger, they'll be able to use more and more powerful spells.
In the game there's 2 kinds of magic: Offensive, and defensive

Offensive says it all, however a thing to be noted; each spell varies in power and speed, and effect. Some spells have effects like: teleport the other fairy a little bit away from you, disables the other fairy to cast spells at you for 20 secs, freeze the other fairy, etc. It's a very nice twist to have in a game. One spell usually have 20 charges or so. When attacking you have to hold in the left mouse button and let it power up, if you wait and let it power all up which takes some time, it does much damage, however if you hold it down for too long it will backfire on you. Hold in the button for a little time and it will just do a little damage.

Defensive spells can be, E.g: bark skin: 50% damage reduction.

Side-note: A fairy usually evolves 1 or 2 times.

It is not entirely like Pokemon, but it's obviously a clone even though the universes are much unlike each other.

Another thing I would like to mention is, even though the game is some years now, the graphics still amazes me each time, and the whole atmosphere in the game is so.. nice, it always cheers me up to play.

A great recommendation for every gamer who wants to try something new

I regret that I deleted this game.I had deleted it because it lagged my computer too much, though there were some workarounds...

Anyway, try some advanced ai mods on skirmish.I played the campaign of this game three times. On skirmish I was able to crush AIX's without a problem.Hehe, with that advanced ai mod(I guess it was called sorian AI),I died immediately.
Honestly, once I started a game vs one UEF,one Seraphim and one Aeon.I was playing seraphim..
By the time I rushed to T3 and started to spam my modded Siege tanks(I had increased their health and damage),two fatboy's were marching to my base.Needless to say,I was obliterated before I could build 4 siege tanks. Not to mention other surprises like nukes being launched adn that I was playing with infinte mass/power.
This game has solid gameplay but the damned stupid economy made me nervous.I had to mod the game's mass fabricators to produce more mass.It was painful to produce 12 mass with one T3 mass fabricator ,that costed a snowload of mass and power to produce in the first place.

Play it for more than few hours and you'll most likely agree with me. There is a reason CivFanatic Forums are flooded by "this game sucks" posts.

Not to mention that I never TRY to play those games in a specific way... they are just too easy

@Seraphim: I learned to handle the economy through the demo, I don't really find it that frustrating at all. Very realistic, fun and immersive.

You sure about the mass extractors? I think I got one of mine to produce 16 with a few Mass Storage in adjacency. Also you can invest in your command unit's Resource Allocation system which grants awesome amounts of resources.

I fell in love with the Aeon as soon as I started playing. Galactic Donuts and Robots with Laser Eyes!

Also 3 of their Tech 2 tanks can hover, which is just too damn awesome. They don't even need to turn their turrets around to fire at the enemy, they just hover sideways instead. Stylish stuff.

That's what I love most about this game right now. The units aren't just different stat wise, they're actually different mechanically.

I downloaded my first mod earlier, just a little one that allowed me to rotate my building templates. Very handy.

i have many reasons this game as to why this game got me off.
Firstly, the damn builder units moved slowly.I had to micro every move they did, manage mass and power storage, manage strategic bomber spam,AA figter spam, tank spam, mass and pwoer spam, mex rape, enemy power rape and so on.The eco was also too slow for me,I mostly played with X2 eco.Sometimes I had my ACU killed because I was not pauing attention to him.
Lastly,my FPS dropped to 5 while playing.
I was forced to download a core equalizer program, deactivate any screen range markers for radar and omni, decrease graphics and so on.
In the end,it was too much hhassle for me.
