Who is Your Favorite Hero?
I'm playing Armageddon's Blade so I'm including the conflux heroes as well. Not that it really matters.
My favorite is Kyrre (if I'm using Rampart) because of her specialty in logistics (which is the most important secondary skill for me in the game). Other than that, I usually prefer using spell focused heroes, but I like Shiva, Tyris and couple others as well.
*side note* I thought Kyrre was a guy for the longest time!

dam i thought kyrre was a guy at first too
it's actually so hard to come up w/ my fav i'll say it's thant for now cuz he changes necro's start and garantees that the necro army only grows when fighting against ai's on map

Put me down for Alamar. I don't like to use him as a main character, but he's damn useful to hire a few weeks into the game because he can teach my other guys resurrection.

I'm gonna vote for Ivor. Not because of his specialty, good though it is, but his personality. Elves are pretty much universally portrayed as calm and serene, and it's refreshing to see a hotheaded one for a change.
Didn't they retcon Kyrre into a guy in H4?

I would say it depends on starting hero or when a few days in the game, when the build up period is over:
Startup hero:
Mainly those with 350 extra gold income.
Ex. Caitlin(castle), Jenova(rampart).
If those turn out well after the first few days with skills, they usually becomes my main hero. But if theres problem I get someone else.
Sir Mullich, Dessa, Kyrre, Loynis, Cyra, Solmyr, Ayden, Xyron, Deemer, Jaegar, Alamar, Gunnar, Terek, Brissa - Those heroes I usually get whatever team im playing, and thats the beauty, they dont have skills that are unusable when not playing their side which makes the choice eaiser and the chance greater for getting a good hero in tavern.
Necropolis are the exception since they have the necromancy skill which just are annoying for other teams. But if Im playing them I usually choose some of: Thant, Aislinn or Tamika(she makes the strong dread knight even stronger).

Christian (I have always had excellent experiences with this hero)
Gunnar (very fast)
Dessa (same here)
Solmyr (my favourite magic hero with an excellent starting spell)
I like planeswalkers, elementalists, beastmasters, battle mages, barbarians, overlords, warlocks, wizards, rangers, clerics and knights. They all get very nice secondary skills and primary skills are also good. But all depends about their specialities.
Intelligence, sorcery, offense, resistance and armourer specialists are the strongest in the middle of the game.

You must really like Eagle Eye.
Generally I prefer the heroes that have been carried to and from the other Heroes games, like from Heroes 2 and on from Heroes 4. Generally those heroes are among the best and the other ones just have the same specialties which are covered. Except for a few like Thorgrim, no other hero has magic resistance as a specialty.
Also, its not just the specialty that is important but also which secondary skills a hero starts with.

Tazar is my favorite hero, watching creature stacks bounce off of mine never gets old. Crag Hack's the only one that can come close in my eyes.

Favourite Heroes (not only due to their power):
Rampart - Jenova (cute)
Castle - Sir Mullich (this guy knows whats going on, always gets the right skills, great special)
Necropolis - Thant (the dead shall rise)
Dungeon - Dace (testosterone)
Stronghold - Yog (Ballistic and I love Cyclopses)
Fortress - Alkin (Mighty Moos, Offense and Armourer, funny face)
Tower - Aine (Money and Scholar)
Inferno - Marius (Demons are great)
Conflux - Luna (who doesnt love her?)

Hi there newbie here btw, not in homm but in this amazing community
My fav heroes are gunnar and dessa for obvius reasons. And if we take the looks also into account I love sandro. But the most kickass-bestlooking-evah hero of all times is Crazy Uncle Ivan also known as Jarkonas I from heroes 2 expansion the price of loyalty... just think of a barbarian on drugs covered with some leafs all over the hair very druidic fashionlike and u got the ultimate hero!!
