Without question, Solmyr.
I also like Adela for her specialty and Diplomacy, as well as Ryland for his Leadership and Diplomacy.
But none are as fun to play, in my opinion, as Solmyr himself.

1) Mephala (without a doubt my favourite hero, great skill and great portrait)
2) Orrin
3) Tazar
4) Malekith
5) Bron
6) Gerwulf
7) Jenova
8) Adelaide

My favourite hero is Adela(as you can probably tell by my avatar xD). Diplomacy is nice to have, and she is a Cleric which I like more than Knights and a lot of other classes too. Bless is also a spell I like though it is better with expert water magic :3
Adela is really the only hero who's name I remember xD Usually I just let the game choose my castle and hero, and if I get a bad hero I'll just buy more from the Tavern until I get one that is less bad

My favourite heroes of all time are Moandor and Crag Hack.
When i was a kid and i could barely understand any english i used to make up my own story/background for the heroes, while playing with my brothers and father.
Whenever i got the chance to play as Necropolis or Stronghold i'd always pick one of them even if that would put me at a disadvantage.

Drakon, he hs a cool name and as a gnoll (the most minir creature in the fortress line-up) He raised a high ladder to be a great commander on the battlefield (increasing morale and defence as starting skills).
I know he aint very strong, but i like him for what i stated above
