erm and creatures
hi there i have a fev more questions
1) can i use m&m archive porgram to extract the content of heroes 2 , for example creature animations, and if not what porgram can i use to do that
2) do i need WOG to use erm ???? , i read some guides but havent try to use erm scripts , if unsterstood well to use script i have to open map place an event and copy the script to massege box or something like it , set days to 500 and mark human player
3)do erm work on reugular heroes??? , when i place and event on a map using wog, and use that map on regular heroes (assuming the map is from orginal heroes 3)
4) do erm only affect the current map or can i use erm to apply changes to the whole game ???? and if i can apply it to the all maps how to write the script to work on all maps ???? (example: script that provides 50% more dmg to selected creatures)
5) when i change the bulidings image in heroes do they have to be the exact same size ????? i want to place a huge barracks for swordsmen
6}if i download an image of buliding form google , name it the same as a building file form game and change image to pcx , will it work ???

To answer some of your questions.
1st one - I don't know , i never tried
2nd one - Yes you need WOG
3rd one - It will only work on WOG . If you copy/paste a script in a
global event and try to play it with other version then WOG
the game will see your script lines as a text
4th one - Script on global events only affect the map.I don't know
how to apply a script to the entire game.(I wish i knew)
5th one - The file (width and height) must be the same.You can put a
new barrack instead of the old one as long as the width and
height of the file stays the same.
6th one - The pictures in Heroes 3 comes on a light blue background
The code color is 00ffff and the game use this color for
transparency . If you use a picture who doesn't have this
color as a background then the background will overlap the
other images in game.

no, size of new building may be bigger or smaller than original one. But building's def, mask and overline must have the same size or you'll see color noise.

There are some console utilities for unpacking *.agg and *.icn in fheroes2 project. Also, some time ago I uploaded archive with HoMM2 graphics.

Heroes II Sprites frame by frame

You know of a good way to turn that picture into frames for a def?
I have it open in paint but I'm having difficult cutting/pasting them in the right place.

no, size of new building may be bigger or smaller than original one. But building's def, mask and overline must have the same size or you'll see color noise.

There are commands in PS which allows that, using a base layer with blocked coordinates and grid, but if you don't know it, just paste in a 450x400 base frame and readjust them in def tool (there are only 40-50 frames/creature so not big work). Using multiple layers allows you also to build the whole animation in PS, which is better (check net tutorials).
