I found 7 fire poles, dont know where the last is, is any of them on underground or all on surface?

Find me mod, enter type 63 subtype 29 then check the case "show outside our viewable area", it will show you all of them. Some are decorative (when in mass) but 7 of them are separated.

All 5 AI dead by month 2, remains one which can be only accessed later game. Now is time to concentrate on emerald towers/mithril mines flagging, then improving angels for later battles. Only the last inferno main hero required one hit and run prior to his defeat, as he had tons of henchmen.

IIRC,when I left Orrin or Azrael for later,I got freezes let say after 6th month.
Azrael would be very hard if left to breed.Those dracos...

Mithril mines are not flaged,but you gather mithril by visiting them every week.

I little proposal for two changes:

1.Make bigger the chance of getting the tomes in the Game.

2.Make the mithril mines flagable-because now they have to be visited many times.

But I think this version has mithril mines as you want, it is my mithil mine script which replaced the original. You just flag them.

About tomes, I don't want to change the game but I will provide infos about where to change in erm to get what you like, is very easy.

I downloaded the version you gave link to and I see the E map inside.
Can we just add the J and Dr maps to the map folder in the new TDS mod,or they should also be cleaned from events,etc. ?

Edit:just checked them and they also have the timed events inside.
If I just clear the timed events and put them in with the E version ,would they work?

No, they have different scripts. I choose 2.07E because it is the closest to TDS original, the other two have a lot of additions and other scripts by Jim Vogan. As from what Bersy told us Era doesn't support anymore map internal scripts, to play other 2 maps you need either to make a mod as I did or play them in wog 3.58.

The problem when porting to Era is that moving scripts from inside to outside can create some problems, thats why it needs proper testing, so it takes time. I am now testing 2.07E and fixing small errors as I play.

I got to this point, cannot attack the monster, while in mapeditor (opened on another pc) there is a way to go there. Is it supposed to be like this or what? I cant find any other way to progress.

also why cant I attack Tyris and the city in ruin?

You have to visit the huts of wisdom,where I think after a battle with Catherine Tyris is insulted and will fight you.

And Azrael gets one of the combo parts from the cave Tyris gards.

@Sal,my point is Dr version allows players to play on the quadriple level-
as I remember Gem gets the necklace of bliss and is able to multiply dragons,Hulk-the axe of ferocity and 500% offence(Orrin 500@ archery)and others get some bunuses too,which allow them to overcome the odds.

But you are right,others are invited to get part of the work.

Your pic show your hero standing on a faerie ring where there is no way to get past. map shows that, too. So there must be another entrance, make sure you visit all the unusual objects, witch huts, fire poles etc, every of them. Some will give quests and will unlock next part of the main plot.

about that faerie ring, I looked at it on mapeditor, right beside it is a walkable path, even if it actually isnt I dont see any event in that whole island either.

Currently I have gathered the complete celestial suit and have visited the 4 wizard towers at the 4 corners of the map, I got a message saying azrael would go back home to plan more evils then got sent back near my necro town, from here what should I do next?

For passability in Heroes, you should do some tests until you get how it works.

This:


is NOT passable. Hero can't move in diagonal if the square right/left is unpassable.

For the story, I don't remember, isn't there some walkthrough for Azrael? Maybe master_learn will help. I am testing orrin now.

i never knew this. i'll have to go back and pore over my 3 campaign maps to make sure i didn't make this same mistake anywhere.

I mean he CAN move diagonally if the upper square is passable except when he is on a visitable object, as here (see example below). Do tests first so you get it from hand experience.

Hero can't get below the hut.

yeah, but that much is obvious.

after checking my maps, i realized i wouldn't have a passability problem regardless, because i constantly check my maps using the "validate map" feature, which finds any issues as i go. and i didn't find any passability issues anyway.

Validate map doesn't check passability beyond ensuring all visitable objects have an empty square adjacent.
