^There was a fight between dragons and phoenixes at sometime at the past and thus the dragon cliff is full of phoenix 's ashes...so they are reborned every now and then...

Have you checked spider queen and Sprigaan on page 10 of the ripped monsters thread? Not that I don't like the spider from grove, but the Oblivion model is exceptional. And the Sprigaan is looking for a new home, with women around.

You are right... The Hierophants ARE the new upgrade for 2nd level Rampart but with another DEF. I forgot to include it (there were too many I guess..)
Here is a revisited Update (I changed some creature stats as well because Conflux turned out to be a very powerful town):

Just follow the same procedure: Unrar to Heroes folder and run the Update. It should work... IF it doesn't let me know. As for the ERM problems its nothing to worry about, it happens sometimes. Its because some creature dwellings were changed and so sometimes there is no room to change them in the map. That only means that these dwellings weren't changed (the ERM command was skipped) but all other elements work normal. And anyway, it doesn't happen most of the times, so don't worry

As for the Satyrs and what Lizard warrior said, ofcourse Phoenixes are not recruitable by Dragon Cliffs. In the same manner, Priestesses couldn't be recruited in the barracks, or Battle Dwarves from Pillar of Eyes

Since now some buildings have two different creatures to hire, I kept most of the original buildings name... And anyway I like kesnar thinking... Think of it as a place where Phoenixes also have their Lair (The Cliffs are huge and there is plenty of room for all).

I thought that Satyrs should be a level 4 creature and in Rampart, so Pegasi was the only way to go...

Yeah I mentioned that... Since I used the Commander creatures as recruitable ones the Commander option is out (Unless you don't mind having a different look for the Commanders).
As for the Experience...yes the bonus is now fixed, because most of the creatures (and especially WOG creatures) were too difficult to mod. For instance I tried making the Elementals alive and then they had another ability and when I got rid of that they had another etc. But the Experience Stack is the Easiest and cleanest way to give a creature an attribute. I'm afraid that If you like my mod you have to deal with these two setbacks.

I have no association with HOTA team (and wouldn't want to anyway). If you are referring to the Siren and Leprechaun and Satyrs then yes I copied some parts of their images from the HOTA screenshots (that were released TWO years ago), but the animation is totally 100% mine (and was quite a handfull to do it). And anyway I'm REALLY tired of these HOTA guys... Who died and named them Kings of the World? Even if I used some of their DEFS, so what? Isn't that why DEFS are for? When I make a new DEF I always SHARE it (a word that HOTA team doesn't really comprehend as it may seem) and that's that. If anyone else wants to use it, he may do gladly so.

Absolutely right. Once a def or a screenshot are released public, there is no need to ask for permission (unless you sell your mod). Some may do it to show respect, specially if they know personally the author, but in general it is use free.

Yeah I always check this thread. But as I told you... Even though these creatures look really great (its really a great work, no doubting there), they don't really fit in with Heroes 3. I actually like the original animation very much (even though animation technology has skyrocketed by now).

That's why I used only the Musketeer and Valkyrie from that thread... And maybe in the future I'll make a new animation for those creatures too, one that is more Heroes 3 like.

You are suggesting pretty much the same... If you want to do these changes for yourself go ahead and do them...

And anyway, it seems you didn't read my answer to you. I didn't make the new creatures so that they are associated with the buildings but with the gameplay... I think you missed the whole point of this mod completely.

For instance...you suggest that Priestesses would be interchangeable with Zealots. If they are why would anyone prefer Zealots? The Priestesses were originally War Zealots which were way stronger. That's why I made them a level 4th creature and reduced their stats... So that you get to CHOOSE between Crusaders that are strong but not shooters. If you make a shooter interchangeable with another shooter, then the player will just pick the one with the greatest stats. No point at doing that at all...

As I said, of course the Priestess would be appropriate for the Monastery but that's not my concern. If you can't sleep at night because of the fact that they are recruited in Barracks, change the dwellings name in the DWELLING.txt in Heroes folder

its not working to me.
i download it, put all the erm's in the right folder and updated.
its like half working, i've got the new names and the new commanders, but the towns are still the same to me

Then yoy didn't select the "New neutral Town" option...

Load the WoGSetupEx.DAT from your Heroes folder and it should work. Post a reply If it works or not.

After playing some games with my mod, I made a little Update on the script so that the gameplay is somehow more balanced... Some creature stats have been changed (not much, but some small changes here and there). I made this because of the AI player... The thing with the AI player is that he doesn't get to choose. If he builds the upgraded building of his town he'll just hire the upgraded creature (whatever that is).That's why I changed Necropolis lineup as well. The ghost have been changed because they were a too powerful asset for the Human player (but the AI player wouldn't use their full potential so it was a bug town). Now Skeleton Magi is a third (and kind of costly) upgrade of Skeleton Warriors. Also Ghosts are now interchangeable with Zombies (The Zombies were greatly increased in stats, while Ghosts were greatly decreased) and Mummies interchangeable with Wights as before. This was actually mt original idea about Necropolis in this mod: Necropolis' creatures should be handled with care, because Necromancy skill doesn't produce Skeleton Magi. So you have to be careful. The right thing to do is keep the Skeleton Warriors in your army, until they are great in numbers and then upgrade them all at once, so that you have a greater and shooter creature. As for the Ghosts, their decreased stats have made them a liability, since they do increase in numbers, but slowly this time, and are kind of weak when attacked.

Anyway, here it is, Just unrar to Heroes folder and replace where needed:

Sometimes original WOG crashed too... I think that's because of the many ERM scripts that interact. I found out that having less WOG options helps the game go more smoothly... But it still has the occasional crush...

On the WOG options screen there is a button in the bottom right corner that reads "LOAD" and there you will find the WOGSetupEx.DAT file in your Heroes 3 folder. Load it and start the WOG(Hero of Light) tutorial map.

See the towns lineup, it should have changed...

I really like the idea of this mod and it's execution is also flawless, or at least mostly.

On technical side, I do get this erm syntax errors, but since the game runs after that perfectly it's not a big deal. The only possible bug that I've encountered so far, is that Conflux heroes start with upgraded creatures, rather then with the normal ones (but this may be a feature that I'm not aware of).

And I have one question: which wogification scripts are necessary for mod to work? I would like to switch some of the options from your dat file of, but I don't know which affects the mod and which not.

I wrote about this bug you are referring. It's no big deal, as I said it is caused because some dwellings were replaced and so sometimes there isn't enough room for that... That only means that the ERM command was skipped and the dwelling wasn't replaced. That's why the game runs anyway. Most of the times it doesn't have this problem so its no biggy.

Conflux heroes do start with upgraded creatures (its not a bug I just made it this way) because the un-upgraded were too weak... And anyway, I liked the idea so

As for the wogification scripts...that's a good question.

The obligatory options are:
1)Neutral Town should be ON
2)Commanders should be OFF (Note that they work normally, but I changed their DEFS, so they look different. If you really like the commanders idea you got to deal with that fact).
3)Troop stack experience should be ON (Also here I made the bonuses fixed, which disables the whole idea of Experience stack. That means that Experience stack is on but doesn't work)

And these are recommended:
4)Universal creature upgrades should be ON
5)Extended creature upgrades should be OFF
6)Ban all WOG artifacts (because they are combination artifacts now)
7)Rebalanced hero abilities and anything else concerning heroes should be OFF because they will mix with the changes I've made.

Other than that, do as you will...

There is surely something you can do... I don't know why but it doesn't work on some users...Although it does work for me (I tried it on a clean WOG) and most of the people who downloaded it, so....

Are you sure you have the latest Wog 3.58f? Because in my previous mod there was a user that didn't have it and so it didn't work. Sometimes I've heard that some mods do not work because people don't have Heroes III Complete installed and have the Shadow of Death instead... It could be anything.

Also are you sure you've understood the procedure?
For instance is there a Hero_of_Lightv2.1.wdn file in the UPDATE folder? That would mean that the update was made.

Also are you sure you loaded the DAT file I mentioned. If not read the previous post I've made in this thread. There is a list of WOG options you should use. Maybe you can try and make it work manually, by enabling or disabling the stated options...

If it works you will be able to see it in the Towns that have all the buildings built in the tutorial I made.

If it doesn't work...well...I don't know what else I can recommend.

I'm getting a strange bug. Whenever certain upgrades try and shoot I get an error. For instance when the Ice Elemental tries to shoot the screen goes blank and then after a moment an error notice appears. "attempt to access unreadable data" Doesn't matter whether it's my creature or a creature I'm fighting. Everything works fine before then. I get different upgraded creatures, but at some point this bug shows up.

The fact that you see Ice elementals in the first place... There are no Ice Elementals in my mod(they were changed to Halcyons)

That should mean that you downloaded only the script Undate that I've made some posts earlier and not the ACTUAL mod (in page one).

Try reading these two pages carefully... I have some troubleshooting suggestions and instructions (I am not about to write them again here).

There are indeed quite few that have troubles installing, but judging from the number of downloads I think it works for most of them (I myself tried it on a clean WOG and it worked...)
