like: - new homm game;
     - nice graphichs;
     - the avatars for haven and necro;
     - how the units look, also the map and battlefield;

dislike: - number of factions;
        - the new resource system;
        - too early for a prequel, if homm8 was a prequel ok but 6 hmm;
        - 30 lvl cap;

about heroes VI

i read some things in the forum and some articles about the
little piece of information we got after the announcment. and i think that if you look closely at the minimap in the pictures in this site:

you will notice that there is no town for the necro which seems to be the player in the game. also in one of the pictures the hero talks which happens only at campain mode(unless someone saw it in game mode).

i think these imeges are from a campain and not a regular game,
and in a campain they could limit your
resources and i think thats why there are only 4 resources.
and also i read that now each castle has its own resources to take care of and mybe the necropolice (which i dont see on the map in the photo)
had its resources and you need to take over other towns to gain their resources (like if the heaven has crystals, so to gain crystals you need to take over their town).

tell me if ou think otherwise.

* New graphics are awesome!
* New creature designs are amazing!
* Necropolis new theme and architecture is AMAZING!
* Possible boss fights seems cool.
* Possible on the battle like floods etc also seem really cool.
* Story seems to be turning out to be great aswell though its a bit early to tell.

Mixed
*2D town screens. 3D town screens in H5 were amazing.
*So far it seems like there are no creature descriptions like in H5 where you saw all the stats, abilities, the creature itself and some lore/backstory on the creature.
* Mines linked to towns, not sure how that will turn out.
* Converting like a Haven into a Necropolis. I think it would be better to encourage mixing units from different towns for powerful combos. Would be cool.
* Necro & Inferno are main enemies again. Why cant there be an evil sect of Wood elves or Wizards or something instead?

Dislike
* Only 4 rescourses with Gold. Personally, I think should be 6 rescoures. 2 Common Rescourses = Wood and Ore. 2 Rare Rescourses = Gem and Mercury. 1 Super Rare Rescourse = Crystal.
* Only 5 factions and no new one. Should have been 6 towns atleast with one new like Naga, Faceless or something new and creative.
* Iniative removed. Also removes all lot of strategy.

What I like:

*no more running like crazy to flag mines after the idiot AI heroes. It was so boring. I always wondered why the idea about some kind of borders around the towns was not implemented in Heroes series. Always the castles were centers of some territory which they guarded.
*5 factions - I prefer 5 completly different game styles than 10 almost identical towns which only had different pictures for creatures and didnt vary much in gameplay
*free hero development - it was strange that the skills of the hero vary because of luck and not his or her intentions.
*dynamic battles and boss battles (thus we had them in KB but why not copying the best?)

What I would like to see:
*normal editor, not like the one we had in H5 (I didnt used it even once, and I had dozens of my own maps created for H3 and H4)
*implemented information on every aspect of the game in the game or in a manual, I hope the devs will not rely again on the fans for this
*many single player maps, not just the campaign and 4 or 5 maps

They still had to send troops out to stop the enemy from looting.

Well H3 managed to do fairly well with 8 without even faction skills.

Actually, factions were not that different in playing style in Heroes 3 apart from the looks, were they?

I was sceptical about this one too, but once I figured out all its possibilities, it turned out to be incredibly powerful tool! Fiur's maps show only a top of an iceberg of all its features, including mod creating on-the-run.

It was, however, probably the most contra-intuitive program I have EVER worked with. Maybe it worked once you learned to use it, but I never figured out how to do even the simplest tasks in it.

Oh I don't know, Tower pounded Necro. and Stronghold, and was in turn pounded by Dungeon and Inferno, the latter of which was weak to Necro...

Likes:
- the fact that it's another HoMM game...pardon me, MM:H game!
- the new graphics seem pretty refreshing
- unique style of gameplay depending on which faction we play with
- boss fights
- artifact sets
- 2d town screens are back (I liked the 3d ones, but IMHO 2d would suit this game better)

Mixed feelings:
- 4 resources
- not sure how I feel about a prequel, but I hope it'll turn out great

Dislikes:
- only 5 factions

The thing about the factions has me a little concerned.  I don't think it's ever a great idea to remove factions once they have been introduced.  Kind of like losing the separate Inferno and Necropolis, as well as the Fortress in Heroes 4.  Disciples 3 is guilty of doing that, by taking out the Mountain Clans and Undead Hordes.  It really hurt the game in my opinion.  I can understand if there is a story behind it but still it's something I'd rather not experience.

SICK but I preety much agreed with everything you said
The things I did not agree with I deleted from your original writings.
Somt things I actually think is going to be great such as Controll points and comverting towns, since BOTH are still options!

2D town screens are an acceptable compromise, as long as they look nice. And I feel confident they will.
