Just thought... Wizards and Dwarves might nicely fit into two unrelated expansion campaigns, wizards pitted against Inferno and the emerging Heresh state, and Dwarves fighting the Holy Empire and the Elves. So you don't need to buy all expansions to fill in every gap in the continuity. Each expansion could be an independent spin-off. If so, keeping the Wizards (and probably the Dwarves) behind the curtain for a while makes some sense. Keeping the Elves aside from the main story would, in my opinion, render them a less involved and fascinating faction, just not enough of an axis for the thrilling events to spin around. It was mainly the humans who exploited every minor possibility to expand on the Elven land, and Demons who pestered them even more. Being the besieged side is always less fascinating than being the conqueror, so a story of Wizards ending the war against Inferno and starting a war against Necropolis looks like a better seller than a story about how Elves bravely held against multiple invaders for a few years or so. Our prick-eared friends would be much more fun as targets for a Dwarven invasion while YOU are the Dwarf. In a second addon. Maybe. Let's hope. As for the main campaign, Elves could do well as part of the bigger picture tightly knit with the rest of the factions in a clash of interests from the very beginning of the story.

But how on earth could Black Hole have dropped the Wizards, even if temporarily? Who'd be the top Magic player? Elves, Nagas? I bet lots of people will be disappointed with Wizards put on delay.

I don't have a problem with no Academy if there's a Necropolis, and vice versa. Both very strongly magic-based.

So far we have defensive Haven, offensive Inferno, magic Necro and probably ranged Sylvan. I see no special need for Academy, especially since the last faction can still be based on another kind of magic.

I'd be missing the genies, the golems and the mages themselves. And the Roc, and the Minotaur who by that time belonged to the Wizards, and the Nomad, and the fabled Genie. What about a Heroes game without the Titans?

A lot of people are going to be disappointed as well if it's the elves or the black dragons that don't make the game. To me both three are essential to Heroes and usually they are my favs.

Anyway, in the interview posted in the other thread the producer says the whole family comes from Haven so the Wizards are still one of the most plausible factions for they are humans. But like others said, it probably all comes down to a faction following the lead of one of the siblings without being one of them. What if he makes the orcs or some other beast-men faction follow his lead, isn't that possible? Also, a lot of people are concerned for the "Magic" faction but what about the "Might" faction that traditionally is Stronghold? Shouldn't that be included too?

Think clear about the secret factions. It's still a heroes after all! Can you imagine a heroes without an elven faction? Or without the Black Dragon? If there are no such things it wouldn't be a real HoMM. So Sylvan and Dungeon are the factions that haven't been announce yet. I'm deadly sure about it.

There is no desert terrian in h6.
According to this,I consider Academy will not be a faction of h6,unless Ubi change the terrian which suitable for Academy.

The questions is pretty much an easy one, the two races are wizzards and dark elfs. Why?

- Very simple, academies creatures are menssioned in the PDFs few this, as well as the wizzard guys that thing himself for a god, so they are in;
- Since H6 is going to has a plot based in the same universe as H5, it means that we can not have necro without wizzards, since necromansers are wizzards kind;
- Queen Isabel's war is in 969 year (the events in H5), 400 years back mean 569, during this time necromansers still live in the Silver cities, so they can not be in whit no wizzards;
- Again the year is 469, if you look at the timeline, there is a lot of action and events with the dark elfs during this perioud, there was war between them and humans and elfs, the got a kingdom, they were blamed for destroying the elven capitol and etc.

Second idea is that we have orcs, since they have war with ther wizzards and they went to an island, most likely the same one where the skull of shadows was kept in DM. But this happens in 504, but who knows. Wizzards are 100% in.

Since they said that the 5th faction will be a "new" faction, at least one of those two is out (for the first release, still posible in expansions)

But even if they do not appear as a faction, they can still apear in the game as neutral units or boss fights, or history, etc (until they release a expansion with the whole faction). Also, they could always say for example that the silver cities are not near the accion in this game or something like that, same with the underground dark elfes, u could encounter them as some monsters in the map or even a hero wandering around some caverns,etc...
so until more is released, is still to early to say wich will be the 2 missing factions i think..

I'm skeptical about this "new" faction. They said that there was going to be a "new" faction in Heroes 5 too and it turned out to be Sylvan, which were pretty much the same thing as Sorceress/Rampart/Preserve except it had one new creature, the War Dancer.
