You don't have to use gu.exe to update. Ubi launcher does the updates automatically. I've never used gu.exe

I have 2 question:

1- How does the achievement "Some Rotten Forever" unlock? How is it possible to have no Necromancy points in the last turn while any strike contributes to the gauge and you have to kill an enemy for it to be a last turn?

2- How can an Inferno might affinity hero can use 3 abilities in a row at the very beginning of a combat? I've just experienced that. The enemy hero cast Fire Storm, then one more Fire Storm, than Mass Heroism. Only then the combat started.

Maybe he visited 2 altars that give a free firestorm in the beginning of the battle?

That doesn't happen. The second building notifies "already visited this kind of building" and doesn't give the bonus.

Just now, he has cast 3 Fire Storms in a row and then made a Heroic Strike before the combat began. What's this ****?

change the music

I have unusual question.
is ther any way to change the music?
I love the wonderful music of the map adventure and the towns music.
hovewer on the batlefield the music is aufol.
when i go to a batle all my familie and the naiburs raise agienst me.
exept the music batle everyone love it.

i even canot mute it on options couse it will mute all the music.
tried to find somewher the music files to delet a part of them or something but with no luck.

is there something i can do?

Hi!

I've got a problem playing Heroes VI, as you can imagine. While playing the campaigns, during one battle, an enemy hero used a Resurection spell and while the sandglass was spinning the screen freezed. I waited for a while, but it remained the same. I quit the game, loaded the autosave and tried again. It didn't worked. I've tried several times since then, but it just doesn't work.

This bug always happens in the same battle, but not in the same time. However, it always does while the AI actions are being loaded, I think, be it when they are attacking or casting a spell. When I tried to play another map, the same thing happened, but this time it was while a computer hero was moving through the adventure map, though it was just as persistent.

The funny thing is, it was all very sudden. I had already won the Tutorial and Necropolis campaigns and the first and second maps of the Haven campaign when it ocurred for the first time.

If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading this.

1. Sometimes map is just buggy and you have to start all over again.
2. Maybe you havent updated the game... patch 2.1 is out btw
3. Happened to me once, just like with you it was the same battle all over again, I just changed the options to auto-combat and avoided fighting the battle, kept it moving with no further issues...
4. Is your Anton might hero or magic hero ? If its magic, that might be the problem....

I play the campaign offline and I cannot seem to get any missions unlocked after I complete the tutorial campaign. I tried doing the chat that unlocks the missions but this way my hero always starts them all as level 1.
Does anyone know a way to fix the fact that the rest of the campaigns do not unlock or keep the levels from previous missions?

Finally somebody who agrees with me! I absolutely hate the music on the combat. It just doesnt feel like Im going on a war like it did in Homm3.Is there anyway to change the music? i would really like to use the one from homm2/3 and 4.

stay with the SFX only is also ok for me.

Hot Seat Maps

My wife and i enjoy playing hotseat games vs the computer. However, it seems that there are only about 8 - 10 maps to choose from. I know i can download new maps from the internet, but im curious, is that all the maps that came with the game? I would think there would be more, or at least be able to unlock new ones. I have finished the 1st campaign ( undead ) but nothing unlocked. I also didnt see any maps available in the alter of wishes. Am i missing somethinbg?    

Any tips or helpful info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Shorty, Yes those are all of the maps that came with the game.  And unfortunately that's all we'll have access to for awhile.  I will recommend the map called "Tree of Plenty" though for multiplayer.  "Wheel of Hate" is also a very good map, but the AI rushes quite quickly on that map.

Also.
The initial game comes with 10 maps. Parching the game by the 1,1 patch should add 5 more maps.
it is not enought but still 50% more.

There are 9 extra maps so far on Maps4heroes:

But some of them are not 100% balanced for multiplayer like "Sanctuary" (ie. equal land for each player)....but still cool....

What does anyone reckon are the most balanced maps for multiplayer so far? Tree of Plenty and Wheel of Hate?

I have read somewhere that ubihole was ment to add weather to the game ( on the battlefield ) which would affect the combat in some way. Anyone knows why they canceled that idea? Was it actually planned?

I don't remember anything about weather but someone from UbiHole mentioned about water on battlefield which flooded combat tiles turn by turn.
From what I read, this idea of hero destroing a dam and flooding combat area was scrapped because it was too hard to do (or rather, it needed to focus too many resources on this and deleying other aspects of game).
Same for battlefield where combat area was destroyed with each turn (like in King's Bounty final fight).

There are always some ideas which looks good on paper but are bad in-game or need to use too many resources to complete.
