Am I the only one who feels that Heroes 2 six factions should be the canon?

I just think the factions are now just a big pile of mess. With each new game, things just got worse and worse, everything feels mixed up, butchered and all over the place. I like my clear cut distinction in Heroes 2. Everything is clean and straight to the point, and most importantly each faction have that unique feeling about them, not just a stew of random stuff.

H2 lacks gameplay refinement from H3 (and random map), but it simply has the best concept all around that they just messed up in the newer games.

My wish for H6 (or 7) is a remake of H2 (mainly the art style, factions and general gameplay+features), with improved balance found in H3 and maybe extra spells+items, 1-2 creatures per faction and a few neutral creatures.

I'm a H2 follower myself and I never got used to H3's new town setups...

... until H5 came.

I think it's fine now, aside from Dungeon. I don't know, Dungeon still needs something better than Dark Elves.

I really loved to play HoMM 2,  but seriously, when HoMM 3 came out i almost completly stoped to play HoMM2, cause HoMM 3 is so much better in every way. I think i played 1 or 2 HoMM 2 games since HoMM 3 came out.
Now it's true, i'm not that much into faction history nor in the history in general on Erathia, eventough i also played (and finished !) MM VI and MM VII (the RPG games). I could live with 20 fations

I cannot underline that. I love variety too much and taht includes, for me, either very variable factions, or many factions (unfortunately, H6 developers do not seem to think so)
