Is your game installed in Program files? If so move it somewhere else, maybe do a clean install to be sure, under another location. I heard there is a bug in win7 when installed under Program files, is the only thing I can think of.

Any idea how to fix my animation freeze issue?
Like mentioned earlier, when i move mouse in map or battle everything freezes, i need to stop for a moment for animations resume and my cursor to update.
If i slowly move mouse none of this happens but its very tiresome to play like that and i dont like playing with constantly stopping animations either.

This may be stupid suggestion, but did you try playing in windowed mode? Does it behave the same then?

I don't know this is alien issue to me maybe you need to reinstall.

Not under program files, on a clean SoD/Complete.

To MrHulkkis and anyone suffering the animation freezing that happens if you move the mouse, it seems to have some relation to your mouse's polling speed. With my mouse's default polling speed of 1000Hz the animations completely froze whenever I moved my cursor. At 500Hz the background animations were completely unaffected, but the heroes still had stuttery movement. From 250Hz and below the movement slowdown was very minor.

So a possible workaround is to decrease your polling speed to 250Hz or less when playing. I do not believe Windows has options to alter the polling speed, but if your mouse came with a software application you should be able to change it with that.

ResourceManager

I have got the resourceManager when right click on hero avatar on advanced options screen.

ResourceManager:Getbitmap816 could not find the "bitmap8" resource "HStInf.pcx".



And bitmap error again when i click on hero backpack:

ResourceManager:Getbitmap816 could not find the "bitmap8" resource "Bkpack.pcx".

How can i fix it?

Well you're obviously missing the pcx files, have you tried reinstall as I suggested earlier?

Yes, i do, just try do it 2 times with 2 different file install. But it don't work anymore . Maybe my file install missing that file. Can you up your bitmap8 or HStInf.pcx file to some where and i will down them to my homm folder.

Hello, please help me out, I'm heavily concerned as I noticed today that after an HD update it appeared that Storm Elementals suddenly suffer from no melee penalty.

A I approve of the changes that are the bug fixes, even to the extent of like fixing damage increase from castle arrows which armorer causes, I possibly do not want that kind of ingame modifications.

Probably it has already been brought up, where can I find the discussion? Used search engine, but I just created an account, so couldn't find as I'm slightly unfamiliar with the board.

Also, are there all such changes listed somewhere? H3 HD changelog doesn't help, either.

They do suffer melee penalty. This text error is in the main game, not caused by hd mod.

Question with UI.AdvMgr.SkipMapMsgs

I like the SkipMessage function a lot.

In most cases, it is perfect.
However, when visiting a witchhut that offers a skill I already have, it becomes a problem if the WOG advanced witchhut option is enabled.

The witch asks whether to keep the existing skill. But the default choice is NO. I lose my skill! That is really a pain.

I want the default choice to be Yes, same as visiting level 1 dwelling.

Is there a way to change the default choice to Yes?
Or I am considering swapping the choices in the wog scripts.

Hi, I have a few feature suggestions

1) "no retaliation auto win"

How it would work: if you have devil/archdevil and fighting slow creatures without morale like stone golem or earth elemental, automatically win the fight/ get experience without having to even enter the battle (since impossible to lose if waiting/returning).  This would save a lot of time from long fights where it is going to be a win anyway

2) "automatically enable certain artifacts without having to remember to put them on in certain situations"

If you have artifacts like boots of speed and sandals of saints, automatically include the bonus of the sandals of saints in the battle without having to remember to take the boots of speed off and put sandals of saints on.  same thing with angel wings and cape artifact with Battle Bonus (non-adventure map bonus). when entering a magic well, automatically apply bonus of whatever artifacts you have which increase Knowledge the most.

3) "inferno castle gate: automatically get upgraded creatures at either base assuming at least one gated base has the respective upgraded dwellings"

If bases are gated, its time consuming to go back and forth to upgrade.  should be possible to get upgraded versions of creatures at any gated base assuming at least one gated base has upgraded structure for creatures being purchased

4) "orb of vulnerability test"

If have fireball/inferno spell, it is possible to test if opponent has orb of vuln. since it would allow you fireball your own creatures that are normally immune like efreet.   so if you have those spells or similar ones, automatically warn when casting armageddon if it would hurt your immune troops.  too time consuming to test this manually each fight.

How about when playing vs AI on a standard map or default template then automatically show victory screen ?

Actually those are good ideas if players play with very specific play style. For new people it may be confusing, for example how they got 300 mana when the knowledge is 12.

For 300 mana points with 12 knowdledge is easy, either had +3k artifact with Expert Inteligence or doubpe mana in magic spring/mana vortex.

I'm sometimes getting a "Map Drawing Error", where the details (bushes, buildings, creatures etc) of the map just disappears.
If you scroll around a bit on the map it reappears, but it's still messed up in some ways.
Pressing End Turn sometimes clears the issue for a while, but it then reappears later in the game.
Anyone else who had this problem?

Yes, I also get map drawing errors sometimes. I play with HD mod and HotA, but I don't know what causes it.
Sometimes areas of the map just disappears. I believe it has also crashed the game a few times and ruined a few save games.

Would actually make HOMM epic, the missing feature to make it "complete"
