To be true: battle queue was introduced in SoD_SP plugin (for unmodded h3) much earlier

you talk about "unmodded" heroes 3 while the thing that added battle queue is "mod" (HDmod) according to baratorch himself

Please forgive me and my dumb questions, quarantine's got this girl going crazy.  I figured out why why shortcut keys weren't working.  I had enabled the settings for h3era.HD.exe

when I switched it to heroes3.exe it all works. Shortcuts, hotkeys and all.

ofcourse now I can't seem to run any mods or era from the heroes3.exe .  is there a way to combine them to get the best of both?

Can I give a couple of humble suggestions about the battle-screen?

Here they are:

1) It would be nice to introduce "floating" damage/kills numbers when troops strike each others.

2) It would be equally nice to have a visual feedback of the new battle round starting, like a small non invasive "ROUND 2" in the top center of the screen.


I know that the battle-log covers both, but I think this would really make combat more comfortable, especially considering that now the battle queue partially obscures the Log.

For ERA you don't need last versions of hd-mod. Install older, in which shortcuts work.

Plus, is there any way to set different resolutions for the battlefield/town screens?

I enjoy playing in 1920x1080 in adventure mode but I would like to have bigger town and battle screens.

Some UI suggestions...

First off, when selecting a new game, the "available scenarios" page should default to being open; it's kind of a pain to have to open it up every time. Ideally, the "advanced options" button would be combined with the "available scenarios" button and it would be a toggle between the two pages rather than bringing up the background.

Second, as far as I can tell, some of the new buttons on the main interface are unused. Any reason that the thieves guild, market, and "replay my turn" buttons (currently hidden behind F5 for some reason) can't go there?

Third is a suggestion I've been making for awhile and my biggest one, and that is to have the village hall button in the city interface link to the build screen.

It's not possible without source code. It's a matter of cursor coordinates. Every building, creature, HEXES have fixes cursor coordinates. And those coordinates are set for 800x600 resolution - townscreens have such resolution and battles have that resolution. Enlarge or streaching graphics don't follow calculation of cursor coordinates.

It's kinda sad to see many old players returning to HoMM3 on Steam on a daily basis, by buying the HD version, and not knowing what's ahead/what they miss in Complete version (basically, there are new "old" players returning each day, but on crappy Ubi HD).

I have in mind there was the possibilty to learn 10 instead of 8 secondary skills for a hero or to "forget" an already learned skill when visiting a witch hut...in era, the wog settings seems much lesser than before...or I do I have a wrong memory here?

I just came back to playing Era too the last few weeks, and was surprised how much things have changed. Apparently now the WoG Scripts are a separate mod that you need to get. They no longer come within the latest version of Era. You can also find Era Scripts, that bring new options. One of them also lets you extend secondary skills to 10, but you can control the amount easily through an .ini file.

If you only have a few WoG options, maybe you forgot to enable WoG scripts, because it is a seperate mod now?

Need Help

Hi everybody, and sorry for posting this question here, I am a newbie and can't create Thread yet, and didn't find any related thread. So here is my pain:

I've been playing in The Empire Of the World II, (HOMM3 HOTA) and stuck in one place where I have to use water walk spell, but randomly generated unit took the only available landing cell! So there is no way I can pass through him. I don't have Dimension Door spell (think it's banned on this map).

You're stuck and you can't do anything about it. Because HotA changes made some sophisticated maps unbeatable.

Thanks for this hint, but I can see that most of these problems appear because of altered mechanics in HOTA. In my case there is just a big bad luck that random unit appeared exactly in this place.. though this unit is from HOTA (Crew Mate), ugh
