@Bara

can u explain those ini parameters that have multiple values
like e.g

<UI.Ext.AdvMgr> = 0 , 1 , 0
<UI.Ext.ArtMerchantDlg> = 1 , 1
<UI.Ext.CombatMgr> = 1 , 1

<UI.Ext.TextEditBox> = 1 , 1
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = 0 , 1

what values are allowed and what behavior is triggered?

btw. the problem with display of more then 8 skills (with enabled skillscrolling and more then 8 allowed) seems to be fixed in 3.806
(era / winxp)

binary (0/1) values are allowed

<UI.Ext.AdvMgr> - adventure screen.
<UI.Ext.AdvMgr> = 1, x, x - allows you to quick manage troops in hero/town info panel  (not available in WoG/ERA yet)
<UI.Ext.AdvMgr> = x, 1, x - extends hero and town lists, adds view world, replay turn, puzzle map, dig buttons.
<UI.Ext.AdvMgr> = x, x, 1 -  shows hero current/maximum movement points. Shows arifact icon in window when RMC on artifat on map (not available in WoG/ERA yet)

<UI.Ext.ArtMerchantDlg> - artifact merchants,  sell artifacts
<UI.Ext.ArtMerchantDlg> = 1, x - mouse wheel scrolls backpack
<UI.Ext.ArtMerchantDlg> = x, 1 - misc 5 slot is available, selection is no resets when you sell artifact from backpack

<UI.Ext.TextEditBox> - all text edit boxes
<UI.Ext.TextEditBox> = 1, x - locale support
<UI.Ext.TextEditBox> = x, 1 standard hotkeys to interact with clipboard works ([CTRL]+[C], [CTRL]+[V], [SHIFT]+[INS], [CTRL]+[INS])

<UI.Ext.TownMgr> - town main screen
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = 1 , x  -  allows you to quick manage troops (not available in WoG/ERA yet)
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = x , 1 - chat works

Oh well, here HMS mod for era becomes 100% useless. Nicely done, experience and new artifacts functional.

Just one thing: do you plan for a button moving only backpack artifacts?

@Sal

"     - Extra 1 + 1 buttons for transfer artifacts. [CTRL] / [SHIFT] keys change functionality:

       [CTRL] transfer doll artifacts only
[SHIFT] transfer backpack artifacts only "

or do you want a true dedicated button to save the shift click? doubt thats needed mho, if so

@bara
is there a way to completely disable the QuickArmyManagement?

usually its very convenient, but sometimes it has the ability to completly screw up the stacks when

a) your tired and press shift/ctrl with wrong timing - and
b) u have multiple stacks of same monsters with different stack experience.

what do you think of assigning those split functions to free definable keys, eg click a stack and then hit Fn (n=1-12). Ok, thats not as superfast than directly clicking with modifier.. but a bit safer and doesnt mix up with the standard click +shift. (at least for unprecise keyboard hectics like me

p.s ok got it

with
<UI.Ext.HeroDlg> = 0
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = 0 , 1

its disabled there where it can be usually screw up, but enabled in the info screen.

only small drawback is, that the Backpack Button is gone too in the heroDlg screen. Its still available in swapscreen though.

Thank you very much for this final version, Baratorch. It all works right so far with all features functioning in Era. You, listening to user comments and feedback makes this mod even greater each passing year.

For quick swap, I still use the Era Mod, since it's got a button for backpack transfer only.

And one more recommendation, it's really not a big deal but it would be really practical if

a) A text guide explaining which 1, 0 turns on and off what in the Tweaks menu comes in with the installation, I happen to notice "what's new" text is no more created in game folder, maybe you can bring it back with a general guide to use the menu as well.

or

b) The tweaks menu interface with actual sentences, instead of stuff like "<UI.Ext.TownMgr>"

This may also lighten your work on answering questions here, on the forum(s), since a lot of them are related to users not knowing how to switch things on and off.

With autohotkey its quite easy to crate a decent gui with buttons, checkboxes, sliders etc. Dunno what language the launcher is written in, but usually AHK is _the_ solution for such stuff. Id try to create such gui but its rather senseless to have another tool just to mod the ini. (besides im slow at coding But maybe bara could find AHK useful for that purpose.

personally, i prefer the layout of the HMS mod , its a bit more intuitive and the screen feels less packed. Those big original arrows are best place to put the exchange buttons mho.

too bad HMS makes my game crash (at least with current HD mod, smwpmgr disabled, wog revised - dunno what its causing)

If I had time, I would realize it.

Those big original arrows are place for original chat messages (and 'Receive From Ally' button). And Hms buttons overlap it. HD mod is used for multiplayer play. Chat is important.

Send me HD_CRASH_LOG.TXT (from game folder) after crash. And tell me how exactly crash occurs.

Two different modes of QuickArmyManagement are available for HoMM 3 SoD/Complete: HD-style and TE-style. (there is an option <UI.QuickArmyManagementMode> )

But in ERA only HD-style is available. I'll make TE-style and you'll try it.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here (probably), but you can use shift (as a modifier) to transfer only the backpack content. At least in SoD/HotA, that is. See >

that would be awesome, but dont waste time for that unless other ppl like that idea too. Im quite ok with the current solution, but yea not saying no

in latest 3807f

tried that option:
"<UI.Ext.TownMgr.AvailableInsteadGrowth> = 1"

i guess it should change the display of growth rates of creatures in the townmenu to available numbers? if so,it doesnt have any effect.

about the HMS crash, ill complile a packet incl descriptioin and send it to you later.

It works fine in my Era. You are supposed to see number of creatures available instead of their weekly growth here:

@baratorch

What is this exactly, what does it do?

<UI.Ext.ScenarioMgr.Settings> = 2, 108, 1, 8, 0, 0, 2, 8, 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1

yea, that was my gues, but i still get the growthrates displayed instead of #available creatures.

Found the cause:

from Baratorchs Description
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> - town main screen
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = 1 , x  -  allows you to quick manage troops (not available in WoG/ERA yet)
<UI.Ext.TownMgr> = x , 1 - chat works

had <UI.Ext.TownMgr> = 0 , 1 since i dont want quickarmymanagement in town to avoid stackexperience loss (due to stupid clicking)

sadly, that setting doesnt only disable the QAM but also the extended functionality like the creature amount display. With 1 ,1 the #amount is displayed correctly.

so, atm disabling QAM in town and heroDLG means no creatureamount display and no backpack.

if its possible Bara, could you seperate the QMC settings form the other dialogue improvements and give ist an own ini entry like
e.g <UI.QAM> = 1,1,1   ;{0,1}Adv {0,1}Town {0,1}Hero ?

edit: QAM , not QMC ..
