Team allignment isn't working a lot of times. Set teams before choosing castles, then choose castles, change the number of players to something else and then back to what it was. Team allignment will still be the same, but it won't work.

Auto Combat - No Magic ?

HD Mod + WoG Treasure Chest Bug

I'm experiencing a bug when using the HD Mod with Era2.46 and WoG. I have the latest version of WoG and the HD Mod (3.808).

When I open a regular treasure chest right-clicking either the experience or the gold and then accepting will cause my hero to gain an enormous amount. The hero will level up ~60 levels from the chest or gain hundreds of thousands of gold.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Right-clicking other descriptive things can cause a crash too, such as right-clicking the Primary Stat boost provided by a scholar, which results in a map draw error.

It isn't anything to do with the save file, per se. This happens on every single map I make. I tried making a fresh map with all WoG scripts disabled, and it still occured, and I tried the map with just WoG and no HD mod, and it did not occur.

To get the error, simply right-click the experience icon after opening the treasure chest then left-click to choose the experience, and boom, instant level 60 hero.

I am very interested to hear what you have to say.

Ok, I picked all chests in the area and no problem, all works okay. I extracted scripts from your save and it shows that you use third party unknown scripts as:

_f101 remove hero skills.erm
aenain to cordelea.erm
clancy to jessica drako.erm

and a few others similar. Try to delete/move them  elsewhere and retry. You do have Era 2.46 installed over clean Heroes complete or SoD, right? HD mod is not compatible with wog 3.58.

I disabled all mods other than WoG and the HD mod prior to creating this one, the problem still occurs.

I wrote those custom scripts, they are part of a mod I'm creating and essentially just swap the starting attributes of a few heroes.

From clean heroes 3 complete (from gog.com) I installed Era from here:

Hmm. Did you right-click the experience before selecting it on a standard chest? If one simply loots the chest it will collect as normal, the right-click during the selection dialog is what bugs it.

Look, I played thousand random maps with HD mod and Era, if something crashed, I would have fixed it asap. Your problem is obviously a local problem, due to either bad install or unknown residual script from previous installations.

All I can advice is reinstall era on H3, then try it before adding any script. If it still crashes, then it could be indeed possible that certain HD settings are the problem, I will give you mines to try.

And delete this script68.erm, it uses conflict functions.

I will reinstall Heroes 3 complete, Era2.46, and HD mod from scratch and see if the problem persists.

I just completed a fresh install.
I installed heroes 3 complete from gog.com to a new folder.
I then installed era 2.46 on top.
I then installed the HD mod and created "era HD.exe"
I launched "era HD.exe" and created a random map.

I have my hero open the treasure chest. I right-click the experience option to read the dialog. I then left-click to select the experience and level up about 60 times.

There is no way any residual scripts could have interfered with this install.

1) you use win 8 or +
2) your nickname cursed you.

As you see, all ok here/.

From your picture, that is the correct way to trigger the error.
I am using windows 8, but I just tested on my laptop using windows 7 and the bug occurs on it as well, so it is not uniquely the OS at least.

Thanks for your help. If I discover the cause of this or a fix I will post it.

EDIT: Changing the HD settings to what Salamandre posted fixed the problem for me. However, you must change the version number for them to take effect.

I apologize, your HD settings did fix my problem. I had simply misapplied them.
However, the default settings for the HD mod should probably be changed to more in-line with what you are using.

Edit: The version number for Salamandre's ini settings must be changed to match the HD version being used, then the problem is solved. In my case this was "<Version> = 3808406"
