There is probably a way to make it work correctly under 10 but I'm afraid I can't be of much help here since I'm boycotting this OS for reasons that seems obvious to me.

Hey mate, I am using W10 and I had the same problem like you do. The only thing you need to do is go to properties of the HD+ shortcut and then Compatibility and check the "Disable display scaling under high DPI setting" or whatever it was.. the thing with the higher DPI setting. Check that and your screen will be centered

Hi everyone, I have a ... bug to report about Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete *I play Complete* for some reason, everything else works perfectly but ... the music, every tune ... at title, to battles to kingdom types just end up ... speeding too quickly at many points, then goes back to normal, speeds up, and then back to normal. Does anyone know what ... this could be? I confused : ty in advance if anyone has heard of it or tries to help!

Hi guys, I would like to also report a similar bug regarding audio.
Earlier today, everything worked fine. Suddenly a few minutes ago, I had an error message (which I accidentally pressed enter and thus skipped without reading) but I remember at a glance a "sound" file that was trying to be changed but failed was mentioned. Now, everytime I use the HD mod, there is no sound. It is normal when I don't open the heroes3.exe without HD mod however.
If it means anything, 10 minutes before I had the error, I turned down the in-game volume.
I would like to also add: I have 2 folders of heroes, 1 that is clean, and the other with HotA. The one with HotA also has HD mod in it, and works fine when I tried it. The clean one was the one that I had the problem with.

The bug turns off the volume for me, just bring it back up. If not, then it's not the same bug as mine ~!~

I had this bug as well and I thought a sound file had become corrupted ... until I noticed the ingame volume for sound and music had been set to 0. Has only occured for me once, though.

Haaa that worked. How negligent of me, I should have checked it sooner.
But now I also have another problem. This one has actually been around since I first used HD Mod.
The campaign cutscenes before each scenario only shows the scrolling text. No repeating scene, nor voiceover that reads the text. Before every cutscene, a "file not found" sort of notification also pops up. I forgot what, I will have to check again on the PC when I go back to it.
At first, I thought this was something that hasn't been handled yet, and thus not something wrong. But I was recently checking the "Let's Play AB with HD mod on Impossible" playlist on Youtube and I noticed that these cutscenes should be working just fine.
My solution for the past couple of months has been simple albeit bothersome. I simply save before I win the scenario, and open heroes without HD mod. The cutscene will show up. I would then save after 1 turn, and re open the exe with the HD mod. Told you, bothersome. At least I could still continue to do this until I find a solution.

These videos are on CD, not in installed game. Try to disable "No CD/DVD" option in HD launcher.
You also can copy files ("Heroes3.snd" and "Heroes3.vid") from folder "Heroes 3/Data" on your CD to "_HD3_Data/CD Data" in game folder. This way allow you to use "No CD/DVD" option and play without waiting of CD loading with all resources from CD.

Hi guys,
I'm only playing H3 in single player mode and I love the HD version but there is one but:
How do I get rid of that annoying limitation on dimension door range (the grayed out rectangle zone)?
I know it's universally outlawed in multi because it's OP but I don't play multi at all, ever. So I want to be able to teleport across half the map if I so desire, with full hd resolution.
I couldn't find any variable in .ini file so I suspect it's somehow hardcoded and not dependent on the HD+ patch.
What can I do about it?

With the HD mod more of the adventure map shows, DD works just as without it, otherwise you would be able to teleport much further!

I think you cannot.
HD mod deliberately limited the range of dimension door to the limit it had in standard resolution (without HD mod). Otherwise people with better PCs who can afford a better resolution would have an advantage over other users?! Makes no sense, even for different single players.
A game should always have same chances for all players as far as possible.
Well and you still can use waterwalk, fly and town portal.

What does that have to do with anything? What advantage when I'm playing in single player exclusively without comparing results to what other people have or aiming at some decent highscore?
I just want to mess around with dimension door and I don't understand how other people's screen resolutions factor in.
What does anybody care what I do in single player?
I'd be happy with just a memory address so I can edit it myself.
I'm already using TP and fly so yeah.

Exactly, i thought about comparison to other single players. It's like cheating: i don't care if you do it in single player or not. But the standard settings of a game should definitely give same chances to all. And unfortunately for you, i dont't know of any setting to alter the behaviour of dimension door.

Oh then you want to mod the spell so you could increase its range, nothing to do with HD mod.

There are certain game rules imposed on player and they won't change. You won't be able to teleport further with higher resolution the same way you won't be able to do more damage with spells in higher resolution

HD mod isn't related to DD distance. If You want to increase distance then do it by reverse engineering and without HD mod.
