news about 4th faction... maybe?????????
Exactly...and even if the developers want to keep the New Faction(5th town) till last, they could at least start releasing units from the 4th faction (e.g. Sylvan, Academy, Stronghold) I do not see a reason why not, as Haven, Inferno, Necropolis have been revealed completely already and the 4th faction isn't anything new just as the ones revealed.

Quote: I hope they will reveal the 4th faction and other new things for example: city screens or skill system, new videos on next Monday. (or tomorrow )
One can only hope for tomorrow, though the way I see it is that if they choose to be nice to us, they will start monday, it beings the first week in december. Otherwise, as previously stated, they could very easily wait until the 15, it still technically being in the first half and thus "early". On this note, if they anounce the faction on Wednesday December 15, they can then follow suit with the one unit per every monday/wednesday/friday and have the final 7th unit revealed on friday the 31st. Though this would be cruel and I highly would expect otherwise, it still is a possibility...

Hey, I watched on the trailer again, how you think, is it possible that the sword held by king Pavel, before his dead is Armageddon's Blade? It looks like the one in Heroes 3 and the Chronicles.
If not, just think if they add it, as well as Sandro, Solmyr and others... is't going to be a dream that happened for real

Yes. They look pretty similar, only the wings are not absolutely the same, even the blue gem is there.

Gem, colours, same form of the blade and the end of the haft, both have some light coming from them.

@Vokial
*blinks* Nope still no resemblance beyond the wings. If you pay some attention the lower end of the blade is formed by two griffins though it doesn't show much here. When you see the whole blade in model or artwork you'll understand.

Was really surpriced with the Inferno creatures - Thought it was completely different but well, I still like the core-elite-champion
And Griffin - elite - you gotta be ...
Ahh well
Still good to have it confirmed

The griffin definitely deserves to be elite. As it stands, if an Ashan griffin fought a Footman, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be much left to him. Don't know if the same can be said about the HIII Griffins and the Crusaders, but it sure seems like it.

Umm.. The Griffin IS set as an Elite unit. I know BH and UBI havent completely finished the game yet or even polished it. But my gutfeel says that those lineups are set in stone.
Oh and the order of creatures on each tier line dosent mean that one is better than the other, they have DIFFERENT roles.
Like the Haven core units.
Sentinel aint worse or better than Crossbowman and Priestess. They have pros and cons and meant to aid each other of that particular type of creature group (Core).
Sentinels kicks ass in melee, lame at range and magic.
Crossbowmen rules the ranged distance but crack pots at close encounters
Priestess are kinda same as the dude above, except that her magic attack? might not get a ranged penality AND that she can heal, I guess.

Yeah, I was just commenting on the fact that it should be an elite unit, I know that it is one.
@Nightterror-There were definitely a few wonky things in III, but I think for the most part it's pretty believable; the Centaurs don't look that strong compared to the higher-tier stuff the town has.
@Vokial-Man, I wish that was AB so badly. I know they've said they're going to put some stuff in from the old M&M universe, but the damage of a new continuity seems to have been done at this point; not sure if they can or ever will return to Antagarich.

It isn't Armageddon's Blade, but I can say that the two swords do share one similar property... and it's also very alike another story-related blade from Heroes

Quote: Sweetie, Elves are for having special abilities, Dwarves are immune to them and just pound the Elves with warhammers while throwing catchy one-liners to add insult to the injury.
That's why we love'em.
Very nicely put, I would like to re-emphasize the bolded area as my favorite.
Anything that has a habit of beating the stuffing out of pointy eared ninnies gets extra credit in my book.
Also Nightterror, as much as I love DnD (being pretty hardcore dnd player since I was 12, mostly as DM) could we stop drawing on the (gorgeous) artwork and (deep and absorbing) lore?
HoMM =/= DnD.
Sure it wouldn't hurt them to have a look at some of WotC's design philosophies in a bit more detail but let's not carry it to far.
Unless they did a
Heroes of Might and Magic VII: Forgotten Realms
or a
Heroes of Might and Magic VII: Dark Sun
or a
Heroes of Might and Magic VII: Ravenloft
or a
Heroes of Might and Magic VII: Planescape
or a
Heroes of Might and Magic VII: Eberron
(possibly Spelljammer but that might be a bit of a stretch.)
I'd be all over that.
Combining Heroes gameplay with the fantasy realms I've played through since I was a wee lad picking up my first core set in a back shop in Scotland.
Ok now where was my train of thought?
Oh yeah, DnD = Awesome
HoMM = Awesome
But they should try and steer clear from each other unless their combination of the whole point.
In my honest opinion of course.
And I would like to add, it's great to have another hardcore DnD fan here on these forums!

Lets hope we will see the 4th faction (please, not boring might-only Stronghold or magic-only Academy though Academy would be a nice expansion in my opinion) very soon now that they seem to have made good progress on the name of their creatures. Hopefully this weekened cause next week, I will be focused on another game (starts on C, ends on M xD).
I wish Ubisoft could give us some hints, to build up some hype. I also wish they could release in-game screenshots of all Haven, Inferno and Necropolis creatures they finished in-game as apparently, the in-game creatures sometimes look quite a bit different from the concept art.

Well technically, you're not quite right here. As mentioned in this thread recently, HoMaM has on several occasions taken creatures directly FROM the DnD Monster's Manual and into the game. Bull-like Gorgons and Nagas are good examples.
And I don't see any problems with this, DnD has some very classic creature designs, so apart from the possible copyright issues, I think it can work fine.
