wow that would be really lame... and feel so out of place to have heroes from a completly different universe suddenly come to Ashan...

I think we should moved on from the old Heroes games by now...

Heck no! The old M&M world was classic, and Ubi had no reason to completely abandon it with the reboot; they killed off over a decade and a half of established lore and characters. While it's awesome that they brought the series back to life, the least they can do is acknowledge its roots. I would love to see Sandro and Crag Hack in Ashan, preferably the old M&M ones, but if it's new people with the same name, so be it. I can do without Solymr though, he's noob tier.

I still dream of Ashan being revealed to be just another world in the M&M universe, but that'll happen when pigs fly.

I agree, the series needs to stick to its root...if even just that.  Having all new heroes and just that and all would be pretty stupid imo, and boring....

People.. PEOPLE! Havent any of you thought of something like that:

-In my opinion and idea. Its an entire GALAXY based around HOMM, M&M and Kings Bounty. Solar systems with planets and these flat artificial planets created by the Ancients could be littered with possibilities for the future of the above mentioned franchises, well at least for M&M and HOMM.

-Cant you just imagine that the planets in past games are (were) still around and thrives in the shadow of Ashans fame. Though Enroth went kaboom at the beginning of H4, we still have Axeoth.
WHO says that the old heroes havent found a secret portal or portal network that are linked to Ashan in some way. Maybe THATS how Sandro met Markal and teached him a thing or two aobut necromancy

-Im not sure if Solmyr or Crag Hack survived The Reckogning on Enroth, correct me if Im wrong, but if these fellas are still alive on Axeoth (cant remember exactly) then why shouldnt there be a possibility of them visiting Ashan and maybe heroes from Ahsan visiting Axeoth?
As long as the connections are WELL written it would be very intriguing and facsinating to see old and new heroes and creatures clash against each other or make awesome relations!

Im not sure if some of my ideas are similar to the included ideas, whatever in the Legends of the Ancients (think they are Axeoth only).

But those who created that for H5 deserves more attention, really!
And I hope Ubisoft and Black Hole draws inspiration and could even talk with the guys and gals behind that fan made content to make eventual connections between Axeoth and Ashan an official REALITY, and a WELL written one

Well thats my thought.

Non the less the quoting can be used with variation depending from region and or country, so It`s not "quote properly" but according to the accepted rule of the forum (written or not), and will do (speaking for myself).

I'm just refering to what seems to be the standard on these forums, the "
dijdiaujh
" thing

If they are going to add old heroes, I really hope that they add Sir Mullish, he might not have been the most prettiest one but he was by far the most awesome one. SPEED FTW!

Otherwise they can return Malekith and Jeddite

I still dream of the day when they have a hero specialty for every creature in the game. I just never understood deciding to add the Level 1, 2, and 4 creature specialists for a faction, but then left out Levels 3, 5, and 6. I omitted Level 7 specialists because that would be too much. I remember when some of them got added with the Heroes 3 expansions and they were vastly overpowered heroes.

Actually if you go the photo section of their facebook page, in this one group of pics that are about legendary heroes of previous HoMM titles; slide your mouse cursor over the representative pic of the group and you will read something like "In the other side of the Void, legendary heroes existed..." Something like that.

That Void must be the same Void that's mentioned in Ashan's timeline, in the Myth of Creation event.

Probably it means that Axeoth and the other worlds M&M and HoMM belong in the same universe as Ashan.

I'll be among the first to congratulate Ubisoft if they decide to reconcile the old world and the new one, but I really doubt it - after all they officially announced that they want to start from a scratch when Heroes V was in development.
Time will tell anyway. And I don't have a Facebook account, nor I intend to make one.

You don't have to have a facebook account to visit their page there. I don't have one either.

Anyway, since Crag Hack was involved in some world to world travelling in the earliest Might and Magic games, and since Ashan belongs in the same universe with the rest of them; it should not be considered impossible that he somehow, found his way there.

Sandro too. Wasn't he in Xeen at first?

Solmyr is a Djiin. In any world of M&M, these magical creatures are still shrouded in mystery.  You just don't know if a Djiin is able to travel through space and from world to world.

Personally though, I would rather ignore the sci-fi elements of the early games. And if somehow any of these characters end up in Ashan, I would like it to be purely through magic.

Sandro, Crag Hack and some other names appear throughout the (old) M&M and HoMM games all the time, but they are not the same persons. Just the same names.
In any case, at this point is seems that Ubisoft want to exploit the fame of the old heroes without moving them from the old world to the new one. If there is any canonical way to move them though, it just has to be technological as the portals of the Ancients (and their ships to much lesser extent) are the main form of communication between the planets. Magic is pretty cheap when you have something much more practical.

That's probably true about Crag Hack who at first was a dwarf, and Solmyr who at first was a human. Sandro though must have been the same one.

Anyway, you're right, I know that magic is a cheap excuse. It's just a matter of personal prefference to me, not to have any sci-fi involved with the series. And well, I couldn't think of anything better.

Let me reconsider and say that if any sci-fi is involved, I would rather it remain apocryphal and secret knowledge and never see it happening in game.

It just kinda ruins the whole atmosphere, you know?

Okay, I'll be more explicit:

Quote:
Is it possible that any classic heroes from the Might and Magic franchise will return in some form for Heroes VI?

This is a request that has been strongly expressed by the VIP fans. As you know, 2011 will be the 25th anniversary of M&M, so surprises are to be expected.

...which I'm sure you've seen, but I don't know any further details myself. I know, however, that Ubi are now acutely aware that this is the 25-year-old Might and Magic series they're dealing with (even though it has taken them a few years to figure that out). We are making sure they keep it in mind, so stay positive in this regard.

Sandro. 'Nuff said.

Anyway, I was just thinking. The best possible feature they could give us in the map editor is something more modder-friendly than even Heroes V was. The ability to create new uniques, rearrange/change the faction line-ups, give them custom models/sounds, etc. That way, anyone who snowes about the game can plan a mod that's more close to the older games.

Anyone else find it a mite coincidental (and not in a good way) that the Stronghold son's name is so close to Sandro?

That bothers me a little.  A lot, actually.  It's a small complaint, I know, but if they're planning on including Sandro as a playable hero in H6 (even as part of some anniversary edition bonus package), that will get confusing to a lot of newer players and even some seasoned ones.  It will also make discussing the game more cumbersome; I'm envisioning massive flame wars being started because someone mistakenly swapped an "o" and an "r"...

I think that the safest thing for them to do is to give a map in which you play with the aforementioned Heroes, a bonus for the 25 anniversary or… this is wishful thinking some mini campaign from the old series and even the possibility to use Sandro, Crag Hack and others in your hot seat and maps for single and multiplayer and therefore would have no need to mix the pre-Ashan lore with the current one.

Or they could work they’re brains out and somehow connect the 2 settings, but either way is good from my point of view.
