I believe more people are interested in a polished game than an incomplete game.

"Buying Time" in this case means "Postponing the need to give REAL NEW news by giving out Michael or old news".
Of course, I'm more interested in a polished game too but that's irrelevant to what I'm talking about.

Considering the delay, it may be a good thing they didn't release news at the rate some people hoped for.

I actually care about the names of some creatures. For example: Spring Spirit > Mizu-Kami (same meaning) or Snow Maiden > Yuki-Onna (which means snow maiden) is just stupid. It's like Excellent > Excellente or something similar.
They should either keep it all English or all Japanese.

Ubisoft could, for one, finally reveal female Hero models (and male for Sanctuary), the remaining Bosses for Inferno and Stronghold, etc.
Heyy, maybe the postpone is due to squeezing another faction in? Sorry, a bit of unhealthy pointless hope

Except that we haven't have any real news since before the delay announcement. I don't count the last few Sanctuary creatures reveal as new because the official website has them all for quite a while already. New info instead come only from community Q&A and such. And it doesn't even have to be news, a battle video like the Haven vs. Necro will be more than enough.
Edit: Well, I will be worried about the quality of a faction introduced/implemented this late into development.

If you still don't know, the official release of the game will come with a new generation DRM which will make you sign a NDA and crash your computer if you reveal any detail about the game (more info on the actual execution of this mechanism to come soon). Thus it will be unrealistic to expect news about Heroes VI before the development of the first expansion of Heroes VII begins.
Anyway, given the delay, the second Stone Age was sure to come. Nothing surprising.

Hmmm the new hero info is quite interesting, it's nice to see every advanced class has two unique abilities.
That leaves us with.
1 Faction Unique mechanic.
2 Base class skills per faction.
4 Advanced class skills per faction.
4 Ultimate class skills per faction.
That's a lot of interesting things that can happen in battle.
And a lot of differences between factions beyond creatures.
This is the best news we've had in months I'd say.
Curious thing is how the Inferno magic hero is called a Warlock.
To be honest that's perfectly sensible but it does bring to mind the question: What are they going to call the Dungeon magic hero?

DOUBLE JACKPOT!!
Newstastic!
Edit: Short recap and my impressions.
1. Interesting but not more then that, read it yourself.
2. Same as one.
3. Town-Window issue, screen looks ok, but they mention that they are aware it's a hot topic right now and finish with saying "THERE MAY BE SOME CHANGES BEFORE RELEASE".
4 and 5. Nothing special here.
6. I've been asking for this for ages.
Like the Hero portrait, nice short little background blurb and a somewhat standard but pretty ok specialization, I remember the fun times I had with the Stronghold "Pounder" hero in HoMMV, so I can see it working very well.
7. Crag Hack is present and it sounds like he might even play a role in the campaign, or at least have a map featuring him in some story format.
8. Nothing we didn't already know.
9. Again nothing we didn't already know, yes no RMG or Sim Turns at launch, considering the mess the HV RMG was when it was finaly introduced, I'm not surprised this is hard to pull off.
-Also Hotseat is again confirmed, but as they point it, it's not Heroes without Hotseat.
10. Old news.
11. No GNU/Linux support, that sucks, not for me cus I use Win7 but still a pity.
Edit2:
You'd rather they call it Black Knight when it upgrades into a Death Knight? I think Ebon actually does give it a better ring when taking into account the names of it's upgrades.
Edit3:
I fail to see how the number of syllabeles matter, it's the sound and meaning of the words that do it for me.
Ebon being indicative of a black named after a specific type of extremely dark wood.
Here comes the real kicker, the real reason for why it is Ebon.
Ebon carved figures have often been found in egyptian tombs, so it is directly related to the Egyptian and Death themes the faction is sporting.

EDIT: ^ Black = 1 syllable. Death = 1 syllable. Ebon = 2 syllables.
A unit upgrading from a 3-syllable name to a 2-syllable name just seems weird and unnatural
EDIT 2: It's still a bad name (and I knew that, thankyouverymuch). If they wanted something original, why stick with the Knight at all? Though it isn't as bad as placing Warlocks in the inferno.
LOL

You say that in a flippant way, but in my experience that's more or less an accurate portrayal of the thought process when coming up with decent names. There's an understandable tendency to avoid mundane names (like, for instance, Greater Peasant) if there are "better" ones out there.

The Hellcaller got my attention:
Quote: Advanced Ability: Irresistible Calling
The number of creatures summoned with the Gating faction/racial ability is increased.
Ultimate Ability: Seal of Power
Some of the reinforcements from the Gating Faction ability stay in the hero's army after combat, up to the original size of the stack they reinforced.
You may be able to build up quite an army over time this way.

The Town Window is pathetic. Town Screens have been a vital part of Heroes from H1, and developing a town by purchasing consecutive buildings that appeared on the screen to blend in with a certain architecture was cool. It is possibly the worst change in H6 (there are a few), added to by an ABSOLUTE lack of reason and justification, I mean - Did ANYONE EVER complain about town screens? It is an essential and atmospheric part of a faction's identity.

We have a dedicated thread for that, voice your complaint in there, it will make it a lot easier to pass the opinions and their count through rather then spreading it all over the forum.
They've now shown awareness of the issue, so somebody on that end is reading the various forums.
Clear representation of the information in certain locations makes the information easier to access.

Sorry, I think I might need to puke.
1. The town window is still butt ugly. WHY! In every single other Heroes game real towns have been fine! Why did they change that?
2. The Inferno town is the ugliest in the series. Sorry, but it might even be worse than Infernopolis if it isn't completly unfinished. The whole town just looks like a big organic mess.
However, there are good news too.
I LOVE that there are SO MANY different heroes, all with some unique abilities! I got two favorites that I think look totally awesome: The Warlock and the Inquisitor! Love them!
