Quote: ok, so the factions will have heroes with a "realm" specialization, imo, as it is more of an 'resource' (creature growth) booster. I wonder if within the realm skill tree there will be similar skills to make these heroes indeed get better with their specialties, such as even more creatures, discounts and such.
That would actually be quite interesting
Quote: On an unrelated note, Ubisoft has launched a division named Ubisoft Motion Pictures, "a new division of the company to adapt its games into films and television programmes".
MM:H6 The Movie doesn't sound that weird now, so with all these heroes looking like real life actors it wouldn't be that much of a stretch (maybe on budget )
Which could be an explanation to what I posted in the news about Ubisoft buying the domain name mightandmagicraiders.com

RAIDERS OF THE LOST TEAR OF ASHA!
On a more serious note:
Raiders of Irrolan? (or raiders of Ygg-Chall)(gulping back small bit of vomit) for the elf-centric expantion people are expecting?
Possibly a new Might and Magic game to follow up Dark Messiah, maybe a bit more traditional.
Or maybe a sequel to Clash of Heroes?

Really? What's the point in having Core/Elite/Champion division then? If it's only to make the stats of the creatures from the respective tier similar... it looks like an end in itself.

yeah really... rather than allocating budget for 2-3 hours movie, I think it would be better to make a Might and Magic RPG game that worth hundreds hours of compelling story and high value of re-playability like the previous ones.
On serious notes: So, we don't actually get +1 to attack and defense kind of ability this time rather than a +6 to one of the core unit and +? to one of the elite. The question is: isn't that a bit too much?
+1 perma stats * limited hero levels vs +6 perma unit growth...
I don't know but in a glance the +6 perma unit growth weekly is overpowered. I cannot tell much though. Just an opinion.

I wouldn't exactly say it's overpowered because remember we've had dwellings in the past that increased weekly production of units. In H5 it ranged from anywhere between +1 & +2 (higher level creatures) to +5 & +6 (lower level creatures) units per week. So far the two creature boost heroes are for Core units so that would basically be the equivalent of the lower level units in H5. If we start seeing a +6 boost for Elite units, then I'd start to worry.

Quote: So Deleb is a warlock now (as a class I mean) ?
Yeah, imagine her going Blood route with all this Fire Magic:
Pyromancer
Advanced Ability: Inferno
Five pillars of raging fire appear in the desired place, damaging all stacks in the area. At the start of each turn the pillars move in random directions damaging any stacks on the way. The pillars last for four turns.
Ultimate Ability: Armageddon
All non-infernal creatures on the Combat Map are dealt damage (Fire). All obstacles and walls are dealt damage (Structural).
I think all of the heroes revealed seem to have static abilities that don't grow except for Deleb. Efficiency bonus might be an ability off some magic skill tree....

It's never been implied Deleb's bonus grows.
She might have a static damage modifier or reduced mana cost. (it's efficiency after all)
It might be a flat % in which case its benefit scales (but not the effect itself) the same way Lord Haart's benefit scales with larger armies getting more value out of the same +4 bonus leadership.
Edit: A growing benefit like in HoMMV for many heroes scales exponentially, the benefit becomes more powerful and the thing it effects becomes more powerful later into the game.
For example, let's take Lucretia's Vampire Princess specialization.
At level 1 the bonus is smaller then at level 10, but around the time she is level 10 she not only has a bigger bonus, but more units that benefit from it, so the bonus grows in two ways.
+6 spawn = static benefit.
+5% fire damage (for example) = scaling benefit
+1% fire damage/hero level = exponentialy scaling benefit.
So far, we have two heroes with static benefits and 4 heroes that (speculating) seem to have scaling benefits.
Most of HoMMV's benefits scaled exponentialy.
Edit2: Actually Doubledeck, that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying that the benefits do not increase with level but do increase in power because of what they enhance increases in power, like the damage a hero does with magic from increasing spell-power.
So Lord Haart's +4 Leadership will likely never increase, but the benefit it gives will because there will be larger stacks of creatures reaping the benefit.

I don't really understand the decision to split it into Core/Elite/Champion in the first place. All I can really gather is that they liked the idea from Clash of Heroes and ran with it.
Hopefully we don't have to place two skeletons behind a lich for it to attack.

Actually you may be right, increase in hero level might lead to getting "stronger" leadership or "ever increasing" creature growth for example....

To make units more evenly useful throughout the game, I believe. I imagine core units won't be as weak as level 1's in previous Heroes games.

So... If Deleb is not a Succubus is she just a demon?
In any case I'm I strange for finding her more humane after reading her Bio?
And I also really hope, that Lorhish's and Eileen's specialties in fact are scalable, pretty boring otherwise.
I have always disliked that some specialties are scalable and other aren't.

So it's comeback of some inferno heroes. Well, at least this time they have better pictures, can't wait to see full art of each hero.
And I'm starting to hate that "succubuses are female mortals who did blah blah blah and became demons/succubuses"
I mean, that means BIARA was human or elf, so basicly, Demon Sovereign trusted former human/elf and dark elf on his campaign?
All and all, portraits are better then in H5.

Odd. With the exception of peasants (HOMM 1 & 2), I've never really thought of level 1 units as horribly weak. They have their uses and there's nothing quite like a legion of skeletons bearing down on your enemies.

Yeah, they had their uses all right. My favorite trick was to let them stack in town, then unleash them all at once, either for an unexpected, all-out rush, or as a last resort when defending against a siege. N00bish, I know, but fun as ****

btw, you are going to need money to buy those +6 cerberus. so if you don't have enough, it's an useless speciality? yeah, you could sacrifica your pit lord to recruit those 6 cerberus, but I'm not sure it is the best strategy...
just imagine, +6 griffins speciality in H2...
well, I can't even recruit all the dragons, so what's the point??

I just hope that the growth bonus does not require the hero to be in the city, I always hated that functionality in H5.
Also while +6 may not scale it is certainly stronger early game than the fire bonus and I think it's ok to have heroes who are stronger early adn some that are stronger later.

Problem with things that don't scale it's too cheap to just buy the hero as a secondary, and get the full bonus without putting any effort into leveling him up. If bonus is, say, +1 cerberus growth for every 3 levels, you would have to put some ressources into the hero to have the full gain.
