New might abilities:
Diplomacy:
On the beta video, Diplmacy is shown as a Rank 1 ability, not Rank 2. Vibe? Also, is Diplomacy available under Tears and Blood paths? On the video it mentions it's part of tears.
Pathfinder:
Notice this ability has upgraded verions under Rank 2 and Rank 3. Rank 2 looks like increased movement on land (crossroads sign) and Rank 3 looks like a better version of rank 1...
Mentoring:
Not sure I like this under Might. Also, I thought the focus was to shift away from using secondary heroes and to focus on one main hero....

Quote: I do not see how you dumb down a game by removing/changing an ability that was pretty much only used by scouting heroes...
Hardly. True, most of the time you'll prefer Logistics over Pathfinding if you have to choose between the two but other than that the ability itself is hardly useless.
By the way why call Pathfinder a skill which has nothing to do with pathfinding?
Quote: Also, I thought the focus was to shift away from using secondary heroes and to focus on one main hero....
Heroes has never been about using secondary heroes but about 1 primary hero and several scouts which could stay at level 1 for all you care.
Quote: And frankly, even if there is no skill that reduces terrain penalties they could just have swapped it for more artifacts
Artifacts are random. Skills no longer are. Quite a difference.

What I meant was, to not even use secondary heroes as scouts....Heroes VI is showing us that you don't even need to use scouts....so why bother with Mentoring?

Why wouldn't you use scouts? You don't see the whole environment from the start, hence you'll need scouts at least during the first 2 months on a map of good size. Moreover, the secondary heroes could garrison the important towns and forts quite well and raid the enemy territory for resources. That's pretty nice in my book.

I'm halfway tempted to make a joke about needing to be a pathfinder in order to find the snatch, but I won't even go there.

Yeah, look at what happens to Blizzard every single year! Some guy ALWAYS breaks the NDA within Blizzard and leaks the next WoW expansion a month before BlizzCon, completly removing the elements of suprise. Both Cataclysm and WotLK were leaked for Blizzard, and their betas too (or well, sandbox emulators)

That pic that was taken off just now (NDA rules) was a silly pic anyway, there is a more detailed pic of might ability in the beta video...showing Diplomacy as a Rank 1 ability, not Rank 2. Also showing the 3rd upgrade of Pathfinder....

Well, actually most of Blizzards resources are now aimed at their new next-gen MMO codenamed "Titan".
Many of the WoW development team top members have gone to work on it full time now and there is a slight chance that it will be unveiled this year but more likely in 2012.

Quote: Something else, remember one of the first screenshots of the game with Svetlana commenting:
"Pure is the Unicorn, noble is the Stag and always hungry is the Wolf....."
Was this comment meant in any way as a hint about the Wolf neutral...or even maybe a future Unicorn or Stag?
it looks like the unicorn was split into 2 creatures : glory and sun crusader. more exactly, it is replaced by the glory, but the sun crusader involves a horse... they could as well make an unicorn rider, though, I'm not sure an armored guy fits with an unicorn. the light elemental could also be unicorn-like actually, if I'm not mistaken, in H5, unicorn are divine creatures, like angels.
