I think he's more hinting that he realises that until now (H1 through H5) spells were a very powerful to turn the tide of a fight, but that in H6, it's a lot harder since spells have been nerfed - he said he even lost once on the tutorial and had to reload

Oh, right- then I have to stop commenting on a full stomach-
apparently it makes me too drowsy to pay enough attention. My bad, sorry

EDIT:Still a nice find, though

I just wanted to say, for the record, that I think the town windows are great. I like that it keeps the gameplay focused on the world map, and I love that they are doing them in 2D - the art design is great in this game, and I'm sure they will continue to do an excellent job. Although the H5 ones looked nice, they were functionless messes, and a static, well drawn, town window seems like the perfect thing to me.

I see...
well, that sucks...

I thought that was only pure speculation, but if it's "official" then i guess it's time to say they didn't hold true to that "everything is done with the utmost respect to the original Heroes of Might & Magic formula".
And one of the series' must are those town screens filled with opera/classical music themes. You'll say..we still got em...but windowed? :S imho it kinda ruins the whole feeling that sucks you in, staring at that beautiful city/castle/palace and listening to the exclusive theme without anything else abusing your eyes... game map for instance.
I also just saw that...speeding up the game... least i could say is, that it sounds like a bad excuse.(like that lame cerberus excuse we heard a few days ago..)

I don't think i've ever complained about anything else before...
I've got to admit i really admire the work those peeps have put in that project.. awesome looking units, reputation system, individual "catapults" etc etc etc but i strongly believe that not having those town fullscreens, ofc won't make the game bad or w/e but certainly will be a letdown for most hardcore fans playing the game since vanilla making them miss this magical feeling.

I guess i can only hope for an option enabling/disabling window mode from a patch if ubihole has already decided it would better to leave that aside.

Please lets not restart the town window discussions.
They took a lot of pages (I think they were something like 10)

as said before in many posts by elvin and the others...its not to be believed.....they game is probably scheduled for May release. Funny thing is....ubi has stopped saying spring 2011 release, instead referring to a 2011 release..... do i hear alarm bells ringing?

@emilsn:
I seem to recall Elvin saying that no matter what release dates may be found on various webpages, it's UbiHole who  decides when the game will be launched, therefore all other, non-official dates are estimates at best.
Relax, I'm sure we will be among the first to know the real date.

EDIT: Oops, am too slow yet again

March release is out of the question. May is much more likely but if they need to delay it until the end of the year in order to to make it bugless, balanced and generally fully playable (and to implement adequate town screens), I'm completely in favour of the delay.

sounds fine but if u take into account the frequency and quality of info they are letting out...esp with the sotw downgrade from sotd....i'd really not want it to go on for anything more than May. we'd b rippin our hair out over here in HC due to the lack of info if it took longer like a year or so

a thought tho....any ideas as to what the naga horses or hero carriers will be?? try a sea horse may b?? lolz

If they delay the release date much past May then we'll probably be given on "Screenshot of the Month" lol.  I'm really hoping it's a May release!  Too bad it's not May 1st, my birthday

I agree, it would be extremely irritatiing to wait till last quarter but if it was all polished then ok...

If they do delay it further, I hope they can fulfill their original goal of releasing the map editor early so we will have something to play with. If not, I may have to go into hibernation.

yeah i hear ya lol, I still think late may will be the release...
I also think it kind of makes sense in the point that with pc you really cant release something bug free until the world plays it and finds every little hole in the system.
Also with all the facebooking and other kinds of advertising theyve been doing with this H6, I think theyre right about at the pinnacle of their hype so, lay it on em'!
