Quote: Excuse me now for those german/italian/spanish sites but (as far as Im concerned) THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A PAGE FOR PORTUGAL!
Portugal is always the last one of west europe.
And I bet most of you dont even know Azores.
H5 wasn't released in Portugal, so I'm not surprised.
We should make a petition for a portuguese site
But seriously there are no portuguese fan sites for HOMM, so I'm not surprised.
Neither there isn't or weren't a brazilian fan site of Heroes franchise but (when 3DO was still up) we got a very well tranlated version of heroes 4 in good brazilan portuguese. There are many people around here that play and like the series, and i bet there are a lot in Portugal too. I really don't see why we can't have a site in our lenguage, brazilian or portugal one - you almost can't tell the difference . as far as I can tell Brazil and Portugal are a market as important as Spain or Italy... ok, we aren't, but that isn't an excuse

Well, there is an interesting blog that is brazilian: http://heroesofmightandmagic3.blogspot.com/
And you're lucky to get a translated version of H4. I only had a french (and latter an english) version of the game
Quote: And as to that question earlier from someone regarding the updating of the various different language versions of the main website...I just spoke to Xhane and she'll pass the info along to the appropriate people and see to getting the other language-sites updated.
Thanks.

Bingo. Yeah, I simply can't tell what that shield-like item is below Arm. Blade.

Yet it does look strangely familiar.
Ugh, if it turns out it's random graphic I'll be mad
Meh I might just be mistaking it for ankwardly rotated genie's lamp graphic from some of the games.
Would be really ironic if it turned that that's it .

Regarding the artwork thread, does the 3 pictures titled "Inferno dwellings" and "Stronghold dwellings" mean all the 7 creatures of factions will be recruited in 3 boring, Core/Elite/Champion dwellings? That sucks so bad and is very unoriginal...Succubus, Hellhound, and Maniac in the same dwelling, oh no...

With all that unification of the portuguese thing, I guess there is no difference at all, right? The two countries could share the same site

I've gone over this before, but I will do so once more for the benefit of all.
External Dwellings will not produce specific creatures. They will boost overall tier growth. All creatures of the same tier share the same growth-pool. You still need to build specific dwellings for each seperate in your town and spend your tier growth on individual creatures.
Therefore there need only be 3 external dwellings. One for extra core creatures, one for elite and one champion. As you are the judge of how to spend the growth.

That's right, but you can still recruit creatures in the dwellings once (they won't regenerate as in previous HoMM games)

War-overlord, does this mean you can recruit any combination of creatures of the same tier? So if I have say 10 core units available, I could recruit:
10 of one kind
5-5 of two kinds
3-3-4 of three kinds,
or any other combination. Have I understood correctly?

Very interesting. The game looks very promising from what I've learned about it so far. Let's hope they don't manage to ruin it. I'm especially intrigued by the new resource and skill systems, and the elimination of the mage guild. Hopefully there won't be any useless skills/spells, nor any overpowered ones, so that people end up using the same two "builds" every single game.

It seems like it would be difficult to make each creature in a tier equally appealing with other creatures in their tier. If they're not somewhat even in utility, my temptation would be to focus on recruiting the unit that has the best utility on the battlefield.
Perhaps if they make them work together well enough (such as the 3 core Haven units) they will all be used in relatively equal numbers. Also, some rock-paper-scissors style unit mechanics could help, such as archer beats melee, melee beats fast/flyer, fast/flyer beats archer. Mechanics like these could dissuade people from going heavy on one particular unit, because they could easily be countered. Perhaps they made the pooling system this way to allow people to build up armies tailored to counter their opponents' armies. It's an interesting decision. I hope it works out well.

Well, if this mean that tomorrow we will finally see the 5th faction, I wonder why they decided to reveal it tomorrow, because usually news are on Mondays, ^Wednesdays and Fridays.
