Yeah that would be awesome if there was some "normal" heroes that had unique and balanced upgrades for certain units.
However some people might consider it a waste of units, but that can be discussed...

That would indeed be a very interesting option, Jaba. However the major snag in that is the ballanced part. I fear that would be hard to obtain.

- Anton: Griffin Knight
Desc:
Sacrifice a griffin and a Sentinel to create a Griffin Knight, Brave army of King's Elite guard riding on Griffin.

But it would even be cooler if it was functional for normal games as well.(and obviously balanced.

but that on the other hand seems less likely )

Heroes VI will be different to all previous games in the genre. No more factions specific to might and factions specific to magic....now you choose upfront what kind of hero you want, might or magic, no matter what faction you choose.

The difference in my eyes between a might and magic faction is generally in there attitude towards warfare.
For example Why were the Barbarians might related in Heroes III? Because they had more unites? (no they had the same number as others), because they had limited access to magic? (no, because thay still could learn it from other castles), because they had huge attack states and give extreme bonuses to there unites? Yes ,this is why!

And also.. is Haven a pure might faction?
I do not think so.. they have 4 of there 7 unites connected to the divined (Priest, Glory, Rider, Celestial) and there strategy is generally to boost there unites both with magical and non magical bonuses. Haven in the way it is presented in H3 and onwards is a half might half magic faction.


I am not talking about the creatures in the factions....but about the heroes....so, in Heroes VI, if you go for might haven, attack and defense will be focused attributes, but if you go for magic hero, the attributes will focus on magic (when you level up)....

Which is exactly what would happen if you picked Cleric hero in heroes 3 or 4

It was Haven hero that gained more sp/knowledge than might skills.

I want to see customization for the AI's personality and difficulty for single scenarios For example ..

1. Resources? low/medium/high
2. Personality? aggressive/passive
3. starting gold? 2000g/5000g/10000g
4. etc..

Also, the AI's intelligence/difficulty, resources for both CPU and player, and map monster strength should all be 3 separate categories, I disliked (can't remember which HOMM) being forced to start with no gold and resources if I wanted the AI at highest level of difficulty.

 Romania it's most probably included in the European release date of Europe - 23rd June, but you can already pre-order the game on http://www.gameshop.ro/game.php?id=6167.

A it seams they also put release date 23.06.2011, and moved from 15.05.2011

The AI in heroes 6 should have more options than the suggested Aggressive/Passive.

The homm5 idea of explorer/builder/conquerer and a few others was good, but it just wasn't coded and implemented properly.  Hopefully in Heroes 6 the computer actually needs to use resources too... ya know, so they have incentive to go after mines, and taking a mine from them could actually affect what they can build!

After playing homm3 and even homm4 recently I am even more disgusted with the awful AI in homm5.

Did it not work like that in Heroes V? I'm shocked, if so.

Did the AI in Heroes 4 get patched? The last few times I played I got to the enemy castle and they had almost no units built for the entire game. This was in the first few months following its release.

Willis, The Homm5 computer didn't need resources whatsoever.  As someone who made several complex mapts with thorough testing I can attest to this fact.  If you isolated the computer on an island without any mines they'd still build just as normal as they would.

The programming was lazy.  On Normal the AI would eventually build the t7 building (but not always), but just about never upgrade it.  On Heroic they'd build at a blazing pace.  

But in the end, in homm5, the computer didn't need resources and so they really didn't care if you took their mines/mills.. and many times they didn't even bother getting the ones right next to their castle.  

Regarding Homm4, I've only played with the 2nd expansion, and the computer seems to have decent armies in the castles.

i am really disappointed by the release date...
very very very disappointed...
i know it;s better to give dev's more time, so we get a really good game! but i am talking about my emotions...
and i am angry!!! why the hesh Ubi gave us March 11th first, then spring, and now it's the end of June???
if you can't make it, don't promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the music is cool and there are mottives from the previous games, H4 I think.
Also I'm curious about the other factions music themes, especially Inferno and Necropolis.

After the Cappa shown up, the pattern is clear. One or two artworks, one screenshot and some minor news per week. Left 4 creatures from Sanctuary. Then probably we'll get some 3D models and abilities. Until June there is more than enough time and they should fill up somehow. Let's hope that we'll get some 3D models of neutrals and bosses soon and/or more elucidates about spells and skills.
