Gating summons volcano's? huh? Not demon troops?
Hey, just want to comment on Marzhin's Q&A on 10th April on what I like:
What is possible today is to create maps without Areas of Control in the editor. If there is no control point in an area, then mines work the same way they did in the previous Heroes. You can also block the ability to convert towns, so it's possible to create "old school" maps. (ROCK ON!)
You can zoom out the adventure map more than in H5 (VERY COOL!)
The H6 AI will be better and "cleaner" that the one in H5. I can already tell you the AI turns are way faster this time around. Also, in H6, the AI will cheat much less and less obviously than in H5. (AWESOME!)

The ability to zoom further out will actually save a lot of time in the long run.

I think the Naga heroes will have two legs. they won't be human, they'll be that enigmatic 3rd naga subrace that was mentioned. this third race of nagas will be serpentine but two legged. in hindu mythology, there are two legged nagas that look completely human and i think ubi is going in this direction. i'd have preferred the naga hero to be snake like the kenshi and be riding atop a giant turtle but thats just me.

Well, I think, that Yume is the representative of the third naga subrace... Just look:
Akasha and Kensei/Kenshi are the deep naga, who are mostly reptilian.
Coral/Pearl priestess is the coral naga, who have serpentine hair.
Yume is the classical version of a mermaid. Her upper body part is human, but has no serpentine hair, so it means, she is the third naga type.

Fail. It was said Gating summons volcanoes on the battlefield and they'll become obstacles. Elvin also said it's similar to Clash of Heroes so one can assume that they'll cause some damage when they appear.
There must have been some misunderstanding, I don' recall saying that. Maybe I was talking about the gauge filling or something? Either way I'd say that H6 gating is similar to its last incarnation but with a few twists, it doesn't play quite the same way.

So creatures appear through the volcano ?
Quote: and had a new look at demonic gating, which now manifests as a small volcanic chimney in the battlefield, which becomes an obstacle.

@Elvin So H6 gating is similar to H5 gating with a twist and doesn't play the same way. Hmmmmmm, you know how to make us think don't ya!
Maybe gating now:
- the gated troops are weaker
- gating can only be done on a max of say 3 troops (ie. not all troops can be gated)
- Gated creatures get incorporeality!
Give us some hints!

Kinda like when he said that the colosseum involved a twist without revealing what it was...

So, looking at the new Necro pics, how long before someone complains that the Fate Spinner is dressed too provocatively like they did with the H5 Dungeon female units?
Speaking of these pics, why is it that it seems like China has access to much more info than anyone else? It seems like there is always new news or pics that no one has ever seen that comes out of that country.

I think that might take longer then you'd expect, reason being that the fate spinner is such an otherworldy and decidedly unhuman pressence that clothing is barely necessary, sure her top half resembles an attractive human female in some respects, but she is obviously a powerful creature that can hold her own in combat.
The Dark Elf units didn't look like they belonged on the battlefield at all, the shadow witch (not her upgrades) I'm inclined to let slide because of her sorcerous nature but the Blood Sisters and the Witch Upgrades were breaking the suspension of disbelief I'd say.
I have nothing against eye-candy, but I sometimes it just crosses some kind of line (which might vary from person to person).

Oh god, not another one of their new "features" meant to speed up (aka dumb down) gameplay!
(For those with poor internet sarcasm detection, I'm not serious.)
I'm really curious about Gating now. I love the concept of racial abilities that charge in battle. Making Necromancy occur in battle rather than after battle seems like an especially radical change. I assume you can't raise more units than you lose in battle, which would mean Necro wouldn't be quite the steamroller it used to be.

In H5 gating worked as a creature ability, taking a turn from the creature and gated creatures of the same type (numbers and type also depending on the heroes skill lvl).
In H6 the strength and numbers of the gated creatures will probably depend on how full the gauge is and not take turns from specific monsters. It could just create new creatures for the existing stacks or create new stacks. The power of gating probably also depends on other factors like blood/tears skills, artifacts and hero specializations.
I would guess that the difference between H5 and H6 regarding gating could compare somewhat to the difference for the necromancy skill for the necromancers. A bit more balanced but at itīs core much the same.

I like the idea of separating gating from the creature abilities. It was powerful in H5, but it was kind of tedious starting so many battles by gating every creature you could.

I need to know: Is Michael an warrior or a fashion model? I don't want the final battle against him (assuming he is the last boss) to be in some catwalk, although it would be very funny

@Properkheldar good thoughts.....just thinking that necromancy is different to gating.
Necromancy -> use towards the end of battle when you've lost troops
Gating -> use towards the beginning of battle
So the abilities should be different from each other....
Maybe only the breeder can gate (whatever tier troops he wants)....to compliment the bar filling up....

Racial Ability : Necromancy
Any living or Undead falling on the battlefield feeds a special gauge. The player can use it to increase one of his own stacks. X% of the raised creatures remain after combat

Thanks, Nelgirith. I wonder if it's possible to raise more than you lose. I kinda doubt it.
