@Mike80D
I think that solo maps and multiplayer map is pretty self explanatory. I do not think the multiplayer map has restrictions.

Is the "Broken Alliance" map that's included in the beta a remake of the map from Heroes II!?

Got a question, they talk about multiplayer, but specify hot seat, is that the only multiplayer mode that will be available in the beta ?

Quote: Beta on June 28th will enable you to play 3 maps (2 single player and 1 multiplayer). In other words, Beta will let you play 30% of the maps lol.
I'm glad we won't play the campaign until the game is fully polished. I remember some people were quite adamant that the beta would include the full game.
Also, I can't say I'm a big fan of the Haven town screen. The buildings in front obscure the buildings in back, which previous Heroes games carefully avoided doing. How are they going to keep all of the buildings visible from that ground-level perspective? I can't see that many unique buildings fitting in that format. Also, the buildings are mostly pretty plain looking. I wonder if it's final.

um, ok, one more question, about this segment of the video where 2 heroes exchange units & artifacts. Can heroes walk around with no army now? Because that's what it looked like...

I think that one or both of the single player maps will actually be from the campaign's prologue, I doubt they'd spoil more then one large single player scenario-map during the Beta.
Broken Alliances is a clever map to use during the beta from a PR perspective, it will highlight the differences between the old and new games but at the same time appeal to the nostalgia crowd.
In addition, it's a tried and true, functioning map design.
I'm very excited for Hotseat in the Beta, I've got two buddies I promised to keep informed on how the Beta performs, but instead I could just play it with them and let them experience it first-hand.

They still haven't added names for the heroes:
And the heaven town window reminds me of the village where Asterix and Obelix are living.
The windows are just crap, but that has been said often enough.

Aaaaugh 28th June is like forever away.
It seemed closer when it didn't have a date. Or too far away to worry about maybe. But now I'm going to be ANTICIPATING!

About the beta video:
I'm seriously not impressed.
The graphics look a lot less polished than most of what Ubi has shown us so far and the haven village window is a disgrace. Wait... is that where Obelix and Asterix grew up in?
Is that sad assortment of shacks how they expect to top this?
Nope, still no pre-order for me.

As a long time Asterix and Obelix fan, having almost every comic ever published and having grown up on them. (they are very popular comics in the Netherlands)
I could show you hundreds of scans to illustrate the beauty of the original comics and their portrayal of the village they lived in.
That assortment of little blue roofed cottages is far too pathetic to be compared to the charming, well drawn and actually quite large and walled village. (going by townscreens from I to III, larger even then those fully-upgraded (unless you count tombstones as equals to houses for Necropolis))
Also the live-action movies.. NEVER HAPPENED!
Edit: Ye know what!? I will upload a scan! BRB!

LOL, I absolutely SWEAR I had not read your reply before I posted mine
Well, as they say, great minds think alike.
Quote: They still haven't added names for the heroes:
It is not the lack of the name that makes it bad, it's the interface itself. Blocky, too little space for the character, no coherence among the item slots (what the hell are all those boxes supposed to be? Random items? Inventory? Hero shoebox?)

Maybe, but maybe you just can give the other hero all your units as long as return some units during the exchange again.

Asterix and Obelix' village is superior to that paltry hamlet masquerading as a town screen in the Beta trailer.

Agree, at least the Gauls had the common sense to fortify their little hamlet,
though it would't surprise me if it falls upon you, the player, to build one.
In the end, the only thing left visible of the town is going to be the palisade...
