Which should make them weak vs fire spells, because those can burn through that hair fast and thus remove the source of their strength!!
On serious note, regarding mass versions of spells, i find H5 idea of Area effects instead of mass effects to be nice mechanic, which also adds thinking about positioning into equation.
Come to think of it, H5 indeed had some nice ideas implemented after all.

I thought their voice gave them super strength. (especially if they sorta sound like barney the dinosaur, obscure reference time!)
H5 had many great ideas, just also plenty of rubbish ones.
Many loved it, many loathed it, but it certainly added to the series.

That's what I was thinking!
Though I'm pretty sure Tristan gets his super strength from his barney voice and not his pointy hair.
Edit: Checked it, it is indeed his voice, also the official channel has been banned from youtube... AGAIN.

I prefer the wait/defend button where they put it now, it groups unit activity and hero activity separately. Nice and clean and makes more sense. I only used W and D keys anyway
What does the hourglass on the centaur's icon mean? Her icon also looks greyed out, as if the unit is "unavailable"
[edit] meh, I guess the hourglass is the cursor, I forgot about that

I think probably about 80-90. We'll see soon though. Will the beta have all factions/creatures/heroes/artifacts/skills/spells? Hasn't been said.

I don't know maybe, but it was good to focus the mouse on one area of the screen for both activities....like it's always been.
SCREENSHOT OF THE WEEK:
Check the harpies can go 8 spaces across and strike a large creature and return...just like the blood maidens....! Fantastic! The square size is 12 x 10 the same as in H5, well for this particular battle (different battlefield sizes are there too)! I'm gonna hate those harps

We don't know how strong the hero on this screenshot is or if she is even a might hero,so I don't think we can judge that(and maybe the mermaids even have some kind of resistance against fire magic,since they come from the water after all)

Uh,no count again,the harpies can fly across 9 spaces.

I think the new (old) initiative system resolves a few issues with both H3 and H5 in a rather nice way.
In H3 speed and initiative was the same thing, so increasing or decreasing it had major consequences. In H5 they attempted to fix this by introducing initiative. It was a very good idea, but not implemented good enough. Tank units became useless, since other creatures could act 3-4 times before they did.
With the new system tank units can still function as they should, but speed and initiative are still separate. I'm wondering if the wait function will work as in H3. Most of the times I want my slow units to act first and absorb retaliations before the faster, more fragile units act. Wait in H3 make that possible, but by separating speed and initiative it might be done in a different/better way.
And I love that our heroes are "free" again, not forced to act at a given point. It seems the assumption is that the one with the creature who has the highest initiative has the advantage, but I don't agree. In many cases I would argue it's best to act after your opponent, being able to counter/nullify his actions. Many times the players tried to "outwait" one another in H3, forcing the other to act first. But the bottom line, you feel more like the hero again, being in control, not just another creature that have to wait in line to act.
And speaking of something completely different; I love the main theme!

Yeah I don't think Harps start off with 9 movement, remember the orcs have "first blood" (might hero) and "Earth and Sky" (magic hero) which both increase movement of troops....still those Harps, unless they are on my team, are gonna annoy me!
