I found the lack of AI intelligence disturbing, and I see Hero AI's disapear off the map? are they dismissing them?

And how exactly does the gouge work? If I wait until it fills completely it's stronger?

For your question 1: Advanced town portal: Thay teleport them to there nearest city whit this structure. (This structure works as the Town gate spell in prewies games)

guestion 2: It depeds on racial skill. I Think that Necromancy and Gating is more eficient but Rage, Honor and Guardian angel last longer. There ar certain trushholds. When you pas them there efect changes from basic to advanced, then expert...

The AI is actually quite decent, they only need to fix the instant-fleeing stuff.

How it fills depends on your faction and the power depends on your level.

Each faction has a "major" way of filling the gauge and a "minor" way.

Haven :
Major : every time an ally unit has positive morale.
Minor : damage taken by ally units

Inferno :
Major : every time an ally unit has good luck.
Minor : damage done to enemies

Necropolis :
Major : every time an ally unit takes damage
Minor : every time an enemy unit (not stack) dies

Sanctuary :
Major : Damage done to enemies + Heroic Strike
Minor : every time an ally unit (not stack) dies

Stronghold :
The Sanctuary gauge fills up everytime a single ally unit attacks a single enemy and that includes the Hero's attack. Should at any time 2 of your stacks attack the same enemy stack, this enemy stack will then stop filling your gauge.


When the gauge reaches 1/4, you can use the rank 1, at 1/2 rank 2, at 3/4 rank 3 and when it's full rank 4. If you don't have the level for the higher ranks, the racial skill won't become any stronger if you let the gauge fill.

By the way, do you think that the future offline game will have exactly the same features as this beta in offline mod? Because this would suck big time. There'd be no custom heroes, no map bonuses (since they became 'dynasty stuff'), which also means we'd only have one magic hero and one might hero per faction (and the same ones all the time); duels with random skills and such thing do not fall into "great gaming experience for paying customer" category for me.
I for one ask because I have kind of... how do you say that... moody internet connection. Software is ok, hardware is ok, configuration is ok, there shouldn't be a problem, but the tiny dwarves who are carrying the 1s and 0s just keep stumbling on the way. Which brings me to another question: what do you think will happen if you get disconnected from conflux during a single player game, will it kick you, or allow you to play on?

Just some "housekeeping" issues with Heroes VI I would like them to fix:

1. Tactics needs to "remember" the positioning of troops from one battle to the next.

2. Windows or pop-up screens should be closed first before you can end your turn.

3. Close button (x) too small in town / hero window

4. Should be able to press the Enter button to end turn and not have to click it.

I'm curious if there is a strategy for the AI not to fight garrisoned in their castle. It happens alot ...

Also, I hope they impliment the quickcombat toggle in-game instead of in the options/gameplay menu. It's a hassle to go over and switch it all the time. I use/switch it alot depending on the threat level of my opponents. If they are low/trivial I rather do quickcombat and see results.

Znork (from CH, the mascot as I recalled in Heroes V development and quite active member in official forum as well) attended and give us a sneak peak on the Q&A, I must say I am glad about the addressed issue, I know there are several things I do worry, but this kind of information gives me a slight hope.

"So im back home after the most fantastic weekend in my might and magic life. First of all i need to ofer a special tnx to Erwan and his team to take 5 houers to realy engade us in everything. There is gona be a 12 question Q&A movie from this. Wiche i hope all of you will get som of the answer you want.

The shortend down version of the Q&A is this. Ofline to play online to get a bether game.
There will be a map editor. The game was delayed for a bether ai and more balance. They have reused som models to make more diversety in the game.

As i said we will have video withe this answer wiche i think will very muche please you i hope. And you alle will like it since im in it.

But popele its the things that i cant talk about that makes me so happy. Ill just say this the dev team is realy in to reading what you guys post. We are the fans of this game and for the dev team what we say and what we think is the most important thing for them. I know this has bee said before and every one goes prove it. Well i cant you just have to trust me, the care more about youre opnion that you think.

Withe out saying to much all of the fans compalint have been talked about. Some we think are correct other are us not liking new stuff.

So to all off you heros out there who are maybe even biger fans of heros then me. We are going to get a game that is 10 times bether then heros V. The game is gona work, and the super seacret plans for this game are fantastic. Im just sad i can shere them withe so we all could be jumping around wihte joy like me.

Im shure the other vips would joing in and agree withe all i have said her.

I have seen the promised land have faith and you shall recive.

So ill take this post to thank all of you the heros fans becuse it the power of you that has made it posibel for me to talk to the devs this weekend. we are the best comuntey of any game be proud.

My thoughts also. I guess they mean they took the easy path on some models to spend the effort elsewhere to give an overall more diverse game (that's the only way the statement makes some sense).

It's all good and well that they say the game will be terrific and the best ever; I'll celebrate the day it actually happens.

So did we find out anything new from the Cologne fair or from Znork in the end?
Any hints about changing the town screens maybe?

I am also amazed that nobody complains about the in-game character screens... sorry, windows (yeah, the ones where the tiny hero model is half-hidden by the too few equipment rows that are impossible to navigate).

I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised by the voice acting in the game so far (demo).
However, that is not the case with the units.
Why doesn't the succubus sound remotely sensual, and why is the cerberus yelping like a total wuss when it dies?
Did they change it later?

Stuff like that shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but I can't help it

Yeahhh, I completely agree. A lot of the units just sound bad and annoying.

I fail to understand the hero recruiting system, yes i know im a fail but when it sais rank 3 does it mean level 3 hero? It seems that when I rezurrect a hero its free and recruiting isn't.

Also, is the skirmish map in the demo the largest in the final game?

Dridri, one of the VIP from Archangel Castle made a summup of what will happen (like Znork, he's tied by the VIP NDA, so he didn't talk about the "cool stuff he's not allowed to talk about" ofc


1. We'll get a video Q&A in which each VIP who was at the Gamescon asked 2 question and the MMH6 team answered them.

2. We'll get an extended written Q&A in which they answered many of the questions gathered by VIP from various communities.

3. Later, the dev team will write some articles explaining why they made some choices (skilltrees, strategic aspects of the game, etc...)

Dridri added that among these articles there would be a news that would please everyone (ABSOLUTELY everyone), but he refuses to tell more

Yes, the heroes in the tavern will level up over time (I think it's something like 20-25% of the main hero's level) or they will be at the same level as the main hero if you checked "powerful heroes". The cost of heroes increases with their level but also with the number of heroes you already have recruited.

No, Broken Alliance is 256x192, but in the editor you could create (by default) 512x512 maps and you can still increase that size (I think there's no real limit)
