Okay, I feel like I'm raising more questions from this announcement, when I should be finding a bit of closure.

Is the fortress/stronghold faction going to be considered the "new" faction or is it going to be considered the 4th returning faction?

Remember that for HOMMV, the Dungeon was hyped up to be a new faction? Well it wasn't new, it was just revamped. So is this orc faction a revamp or a returning faction?

Secondly, the orc's presence might help us narrow what the final faction might be. 5 factions- 5 campaigns- 4 human leaders, 1 half human leader as per the description of the Imperial children. If we use ockham's razor, the orcs should be led by a half-human half-orc (we know this leader will be male). But we've seen crazier things (a human wearing demonic armor leading the demons?) and this faction might be subdued by a 100% human conquistadoresque colonist (If this is the case, then the leader will be the other daughter).

Hmmm... what a quandary.

Ok stronghold is awesome and I felt rly shuld be a might based faction.  My thoughts so far:

Reaver - Destroyer:  Umm looks cool except one thing... wut the heck is up with the name.  The name tells me nothing, AND WORSE probably means that there will be more orcs in the faction.  I just hope the other orc is a shaman of some sort so it wuld be vastly different from this one.

Harpy - Fury:  I love it.  IMO best rendition of the harpy yet.  Looks cool and not cartoony.  THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL.  I hated how the H5 Stronghold was basically just Burnt Red/Brown.  That faction hurt my eyes.

Goblin - hunting goblin:  Again, looks cool. I don't like the name hunting goblin, they shoulda stuck with hobgoblin.

Edit:  Remaining creatures I'm rooting for

Rock throwing Cyclops - Absolute necessity

Shaman - I think is a need; would prefer a troll

Roc - Or somthin like it; cus u need some flying

Behemoth - will always be a classic

Centaur - maybe, cept i think i prefer in the woods

Many brute types creatures wuld work.  But plz no more orc, or orc type creature and call it
a champion or w/e.

It is the 4th faction, the "old faction that used to be in H5", not the revamp.

We really need to see some in-game footage to know which terrain they got, but we haven't seen anything from Inferno outside the artworks either.

I realy think that last units of Stronghold are female centaur, wyvern aka pao-kai and new creature for ELITE and cyclops for champion =P

K, personally the champion unit seems painfully obvious. The whole move towards jungle terrain and aztec influence for the orcs probably means that it will have something to do with a panther/jaguar, since those are the great cats that the ancient aztecs held in the highest regard. It just seemed to make sense to me... tho im not sure how that would work, cats being graceful and light on their feet, with orcs being... pretty much the opposite Oh, but that's what you need to love about them! Brute force speaks many languages

Am not sure whether the Harpy counts as a new unit, it was not in H5 but it used to be in old Heroes, even in Stronghold in H4, while they might have said the new unit that's not the male-turned-female, is brand new so maybe only 4 are coming back from H5, probably the Slayer or the Wyvern and the new unit might be 4-legged, IF it's not the female Centaur.

I found blood rage to be a fantastic new way to play. With heavy penalties for waiting, and bonuses for charging through the enemy ranks, it was a totally new way for me to use my units since I prefer to hold back and use ranged troops. It was chaotic and unpredictable, indeed, but a lot of fun as well.

Blood Rage made the Orcs nearly invincible while they had Rage points and less durable than sick old flies when they were depleted. The penalty for waiting and defending was low compared to the benefits provided by the skill. Actually the Blood Shield was the worst part, I hope they get rid of it.

I'd be really happy if it will be some sort of an animal (panther/jaguar etc.) because I fear that there will be too many "orcs". And please don't put the stupid Slayer there, since we already have one Orc That AND the Slayer would bring back the boring mistake of H5 Stronghold (which was overall good, but...)

My Dream H6 Stronghold Lineup:

CORE:
Centaur (I'd leave the Goblins out altogether, to make room for others, and because IMO they're simply too weak to fight )
Harpy
Orc Warrior (the confirmed one)
ELITE:
Roc/Thunderbird
Cyclops (Shooter like in H3 and H4)
NEW UNIT - Jaguar/Panther would be perfect
CHAMPION:
Wyvern

Anyone likes this lineup?

I agree to some extent, but whatever faction would be the 4th one, the remaining ones would be "ROBBED" unfortunately.

What makes "zero" sense is why H6 has only 5 factions in the first place stupid...it's one LESS than H2 released 14 years ago!

Actually it worked for the most part, at least after the patch. Its weak parts were:
A fast charger could catch orcs with their pants rage down and greatly weaken a stack before you have a chance to do anything.
Not much of a protection versus dark.
Mass slow/haste greatly affected the flow of rage.

If reworked it could have been made 'balanced' but either way I enjoyed it.

Yes, to bad the chances for that are slim indeed. As far as we know, there are no Behemoths in Ashan.
Also it has been vividly expressed how the Cyclopses are the strongest creatures the Orcs can muster. They were the 7th tier in HoMMV and they've served as bosses on the Orcish Island in DMoMM.(Not counting undead Cylopses here)

No likely the Cylopses are the Champions of Stronghold.

From the looks of it, I expect the line-up will be something in the lines of:
Core: Goblins; Harpies, Maulers
Elite: Shamans; Wyverns/Poa-kais; Orc riders/Centaurs/Slayers
Champion: Cyclops.

@War-overlord so basically your expected lineup is exactly the same as H5 (for Elite and Champion of course) but we all know that H6 factions are more or less drastically different from previous HOMMs.
Do you not think that this lineup is more probable? (since it's quite different from H5) and I'd also really like the Thunderbirds to return

Orc Warrior

Roc/Thunderbird
Cyclops (Shooter like in H3 and H4)

AAAAARGHHH I promised myself not to go to HC, somehow I got a sneak peak and whoa, the 4th was here already.

@Warlord: Don't give your hopes up, I mean Demons has 1000 faces, Some of them might be hairy enough to become Wizard's experiment-went-bad-creating-behemoth. But oh well I am just too excited with the newly 4th faction

Now get back to work, stupid End Of Year Process (grumble grumble)

Iīm still not convinced that they actually will be the "jungle" faction, itīs to early to tell. Iīm guessing they have moved the "thunderbirds" to a spot as the factions champion. It fits well with the lore of father sky and would make a great champion in his name. And we need another flying champion unit.

As elite we will have cyklops (perhaps in a female model?), shaman/mage/type creature and centaur (probably the new female model). A sabretooth tigerrider could be in the mix to as a an elite, couldnīt decide which to swap out though

As a faction they will probably be the fast hard hitting one with high attack and units that can reach enemy lines quickly. A bit weak on the ranged side but boosted by some sort of "bloodrage" special ability as in heroes V.

The fifth race is gonna be heavy on the magic side.

Looking at what has already been revealed, the Behemoth are eventualy likely to be a boss. According to the christian mythology, the Behemoth is an enormus demon living inside the earth (like Leviathan in the sea). The confirmed bosses are like bigger versions of the champ units from Haven and Necropolis, and taking into consideration that the Inferno champ unit are not devils, but pit lords, the devil might be a boss. Also the big water dragon from the demo-movie might be linked to a possible naga faction, since it looks like an asian dragon, and the artwork we have seen of the nagas in Ashan looks very asian inspired. And nagas are, as we know, the chosen of the dragon god of water...
