The swedish law system doens't work.

Today, I spent about two hours stuck in a tiny elevator with three people. We called 112 (911 in america) several times, even telling them we had started to get panicing emotions and klaustrophobia, yet it took them two friggin hours to send a guy to get us out.

This totally blows, what if i had been an emergency, what if there was no air? what if one fainted?

This system needs fixing, and the local media has been contacted.

What kind of building was it? Isn't there a person/service that tends elevators? The police or firemen or whomever you called probably didn't think it was a real emergency.

it was a building tht had two schools and one centre for disabled people, and the police called the elevator company several times. and it could evovle into a nemergency easily. It's unacceptable that it takes that time to fix that sort of thing.

coffe break for two hours.

Not to mention hte fact that they didn't really care. when I talked to them they went all: "We've sent a guy, I can't do magic, he'll get there when he gets there, until then, you're stuck, too bad, kid."

how would the perfect law system be then if there was one?

in my opinion, there should be more rehabilitation and care in prison than punishment (its almost like this in sweden but the time you sit in prison is waaaay to short and there are to many foreigners sitting on our prisoners, they should be sent home to fill space in their own prisons)

That depends on the prisoner, really. Some are fit to do rehabilitation, because they are truly remorseful and aren't willing recommence... however, others are either to foul or mentally-weak a person to be released - They are a threat to society in general and *CANNOT* be allowed in without proper punishment (and by that I do not mean stuff like whipping or w/e)

However, to determine which detainee is fit for imprisonment or rehabilitation, they need to be examined. Every single one of them. Then, they need to be examined again to make sure the first examination was executed correctly. Then, they have to make sure there are enough vacancies in Prisons/Rehabilitation Centres, etc, and if there aren't, the detainees will be held back or simply put in the wrong centre. The first option costs a LOT of money, at the taxpayer's expenses, the second one is releasing a potential hazzard to society. Add in a LOT of Administration, some procedural error and a couple of VERY pesky lawyers and you have a complete CLUSTERF*CK nobody really knows what the fricking Sh*t is going on.

It's rather depressing to think about, really.

MY law system would be perfect, and will be implemented as soon as all the lifeforms on the planet agree that I am the Grand High n' Mighty Poobah Potentate and Total Ruler of the Universe. Nobody will be allowed to call me God though. That would just be pretentious.

What does a stuck elevator have to do with the legal system? Are you saying there should be a law that requires the elevator company to show up within a certain amount of time? Maybe there already is. A law like that would have logistical problems though.

Didn't anyone try to force the door open and climb out? Or climb out through a ceiling panel?

Rehabilitating prisoners? It ain't gonna happen.

No no no no no!

That always ends up with the elevator starting and some poor person getting cut in half.

Damn horror flicks.

Yea I know. I shivered when I wrote it. Either they get cut in half or there's a gremlin just outside waiting to bite someone's head off. If you climb out through the ceiling that's where the gunman is ... just as he pulls the trigger the elevator suddenly becomes unstuck and moves you out of the line of fire just in time. But the bullet ricochets and hits the cable so the elevator is hanging by a thread about ready to break.

?
That is already a major function of the prisons in many prisons.

Not all countries give their criminals no second chances, murders them with death penalty and locks them up forever in a cold, ugly prison (I admit its my stereotypical view on american prisoners that they are cold, hard and ugly with really small cells so it might not be true)

@Binabik, well, we called the legal system several times, because, you know, they could send a firetruck or something with a crowbar and get us out of there. And it still took them two friggin hours t oget us out. I mean, that's not acceptable and real emergencies could have evolved.

Happens all the time. Thing is, nothing bad happened so be thankful for that, at least. You can go all what if and all but it didn't happen. I would tend to agree with the authorities, that isn't a real emergency. sure, it sucks, but there really are more important things to deal with imo.
