I see, Hol.pac has zsetup01.txt too. Is it necessary?

I've no idea about this, i am hesitant to remove it if there's a risk of it not working.

On a side note, i'm a pretty big dungeon fan, when i was following mod development progress i saw that dungeon is suppsed to have recruitment of Bards from lvl 2 tier  (previous harpy nest building) In current version, once upgraded i can only recruit Rogues and Halflings but cannot recruit Bards from pillar of eyes liek fbefore only Beholders and Evil Eyes - no bards

So were they deleted from the final dungeon line up or is it something from my end ?

I don't think so... I merely put the original txt files from WOG so that they won't be overridden. Is this the problem with revised WOG?

Yes, when we removed buggy scripts and added replacements, we had to change zsetup to show modifications. If your mod does not need this file, would be nice to remove it so people can use both wog revised and HoL, thus have less bugs.

So, are bards even possible to obtain for dungeon without upgrading a troglodyte dwelling with one mythril ? Or did they not make the final release as standart creature ?

I also really liked the Spider jinxes as a creature - looked so lore friendly and fitting to heroes 3

I read somewhere That this hol will be the final release, maybe Hero Of Light you could reconsider and readd the old monsters that u used in the older versions as alternates ?

Spider jinxes - alternate for manticores
Bards - alternate for halflings and rogues
And so on ?
I also really like the jaguar warriors, too bad they are not recruitable and only mercenary unit

So maybe you could release your old creature add on to the main mod as an sort of "expansion" ? Cuz i rly liek your previous work on creatures and it would be sad to see them dissapear

If you installed it correctly it will work like this. Remember, they will start gathering the next week from when the building is ready (and not instantly).

As you noted (and as I stated before) this is the final - definitive version of my mods. So the final lineup is as it is. The spiders were originally used in the Grove town and I thought they shouldn't be part of my mod anymore. If you want them reinstalled you'll have to do it yourself I'm afraid.

As for the zsetup01.txt I don't see why that would cause a problem with the game loading up. Sure, the scripts where altered, but the description should be irrelevant. If there is indeed a need to remove this txt I will make up a new download patch... But if it is merely a technicality I think I could be spared of the trouble and let it be as it is.

This way people wont see the real Wog options when they play, they will see and check Split Decision when it's in fact Town Treasuries and so on... Since all that has to be done is simply selecting the zsetup01.txt  file with MMarchive and deleting, it would be much better because most people wont know where to do that. If you feel too lazy about it I guess the moderators can do it before updating the link in Era thread, it has to be updated anyway.

Just compare these defs from my mod with the original ones and you'll understand how it works. As I said, the first icons must be in the order of the heroes specialities in order to show them properly in the game menu.


I did manage to create my UN32 and UN44 defs, added them to my Pac file, the start menu shows every new specialty as it should. However, for no reason, it scrambles the (in game) specialty icons  of hero screen??? When I remove UN32 and UN44 they turn back to normal. I tried to test if I've done something wrong by extracting your UN44 and adding it to my Pac, when used alone, it also scrambles in-game specialty icons. So what else is added to the Pac file to achieve in-game icon order? There seems to be no DEf file for in game icons, besides you manage them by ERM, not MMarchive, so I'm clueless how one effects the other like this.

Edit: Okay, I figured it out.

Links seem to work just fine to me. And the latest version is for ERA II only because some of the features could not be implemented on plain WOG.

Hello, Hero_of_Light, i got a few questions.

I remember playing your mod before (it was probably older version), now i am using ERA II (HoL version 3.2), and castle doesn't have access to those shinny paladins or priestesses, that you have on front page (first picture).

Also i have no new heroes, except for Confulx (now heaven).

I am using the WoG settings you provided and i also have that Objective Patch.

I try to check out the older version (3.1) and there were some new units, but no new heroes for any of the faction (except a new portrait for Sir Mullich)

Also i found another bug - when Dungeons build upgraded Dungeon lair, they get a -2 additions for Dragons for the next week - so they move from -2 to 0 and only a week after start getting dragons normally.

This shouldn't happen anymore with the new version. It was fixed a lot while ago. Are you sure you installed it right and enabled the mod in the mods manager?

I first installed Era 2, then New Objects Patch.

Then i extracted HoL322 and copied the folder (It has mp3, Maps, EraPlugins, Data folders inside and readme.txt, HoLv3.2.dat, and hoLmod.ico) into the Mod folder of the Heroes 3 installation. Then i started Era Start Menu, and there selected Mod Manager, and inside switched HoL v32 from disabled to enabled.

Now i have Enabled -

HoLv32
New Objects Patch
Secondary Skills Scrolling
Yona
Fast Battle Animation
WoG

If you mean installing two versions of my mods in the same Heroes III installation folder, then no you can't. All of them work individually.

So I've played the Hero of Light mod before but when trying to install it on another computer, I installed WoG just fine but when I attempt to install HoL, I go through the install process with the udpate file and stuff, it says Hero of Light Mod when I accept the update and it says successfully installed. However when I open the WoG application, it still has the original WoG layout and essentially nothing has happened except for some changes in some creatures that implies the HoL mod was partially installed but not fully. Just wanna make sure I didn't miss a step or do something wrong in the install process.
