Complete, clean, fresh installation
Hello everyone,
I tried installing the HoL mod a couple of times and I've always failed for one reason or another. I either managed to install "part" of the mod or failed completely.
If anyone could be so nice to post a quick and complete guide on how to install it CLEAN/fresh, step by step, what to have first (like wog 3.58f etc) and what to to next, because I have followed the steps at the beginning of this post and like I said, failed every time... So if anyone feels kind enough to reply to me like I'm a 10 year old, that would be much appreciated because I'm ready, willing and able to spend a LOT of hours with my friends playing Hot Seat on this beautiful, awesome mod. Thanks, in advance.

Since the first post is too old to edit I will try and explain it YET AGAIN in as easy-baby steps as possible. I may make a video in the future for my newest mod although it IS pretty easy. Also note, that this is the way to install any mod not just mine.
So, let's start...
First of, let's assume that you want the latest version of HoL mod (that is HoLv3.22) and so for this mod you'll need ERA II installed first.
The steps are:
1) Visit this and download ERA II
2) Install ERA II (It is an easy installation just follow instructions).
3) Once finished with ERA installation download HoLv322
4) The file you download it is an archived file so you need a proper tool for it (I suggest winrar which is free).
5) Unzip all files (as they are) in "mods" folder (it is located to your Heroes III folder).
6) If you've done this correctly, you'll have a new folder named "HoLv322" in your "mods" folder.
7) Go to "tools" folder found in your Heroes III folder.
8) There, you'll find a tool named modsman.exe in "Mods Manager" folder.
9) By opening it, you'll get a list of all the mods your ERA installation uses. HoLv322 should be on this list. Make sure that it is first in priority by pressing the up button.
10) Once you're finished the mod is almost ready. Start a single scenario and visit the WoG Options.
11) In there, you can either manually turn ON or OFF the appropriate WoG options (as listed in the first page of this thread) OR load the WoG options by pressing the load button and load the HoLv322.dat file, that has the default WoG options that make this mod work.
Once you've done all this the mod should be working.

Hello,
I have followed the steps exactly. I downloaded a Heroes 3 Complete version (clean), I downloaded the Era mod, installed it just as suggested, step by step by targeting the Heroes 3 complete folder, downloaded HoL322, unzipped it into the mods folder, then went into the modmanager.exe and moved HoLv32 to be the first after enabling it (it was disabled by default) and then ran the exe (which is named h3era.exe in the H3 folder).
I still don't get the units mentioned in the first pages of these thread, for example instead of Dendroids I get Hierophants and not Druids, same for the level 6, I get a champion-like unit instead of Dragondaughters OR Drakelings...so I really don't get what I'm doing wrong. I may sound like a dumbass but this is really driving me crazy. I have pmed DarknessDragon to add me on Skype and send me the archived whole game so that I could see what I've done wrong.

You are doing it fine, you should have Hierophants instead of Dendroids and Paladins instead of usual unicorn. I really do not know what do you expect.

It sounds like I did this correctly but I don't get the new commanders (Warchief for stronghold, Whisps for Conflux/Haven etc) nor a lot of the units listed at the beginning of this thread. Page 1 clearly shows a whole bunch of different units, I mean there's no listing of Hierophants or that other unit, in the Rampart line-up, is there? I can only see Dragondaughters (sentinel skin) and those new sharpshooters are not listed as well. Unless I'm missing something...
Was there like a huge update after the first HoL came out? Did that wipe those first units and had them re-replaced with another stack for each castle? That's the confusing part for me. I'm not getting the units listed in the first page with the detailed explanation for every castle, nor the new commander skins, instead I get something different and yes, I'm pretty sure I've done the installation completely. Sorry for giving you guys a headache with this...but I'm really not getting it.
Another example would be:
Iron Golems OR Sorceresses
Arch Magi OR Gold Golems
Diamond Golems OR Genies
Enchanters OR Naga Queens
Crystal Dragons OR Titans
Commander: Apprentice
it is NOT like that. I get the stone golems or iron golems
sorceresses or arch magi
genies or master genies
nagas or naga queens
giants and titans
commander: same old temple guardian...
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong...
Everything got cleared up...I was looking at the first page and I wasn't getting those exact creatures/commanders because of the updates that HoL went through..so, I was doing everything right and got what I was supposed to be getting but I just didn't know that

Maybe you try to install v. 3.2 instead of 3.0/3.1?

About Tower line-up, it is normal, you only get diamond/gold golems and enchanters the week after you've buil appropriate building or something like that if I recall correctly, long time I haven't play this mod, I'm waiting for Glory of War to come out !

When you start a new game there is a button in the up right corner that reads "WoG options".

I have trouble to install mod-s , I know i have to change my language and everything to USA/English and i did it but installation still gives me error to change it.. can you help me with that? Im using Win8..

If you're referring to WoG or ERA II installation then you posted on the wrong thread.
I recommend you install ERA II and play the newer versions of my mod that are compatible with it.
