Fate Spinner FTW. I admire pretty much any level 7 creature that is not a dragon.

Although Lamassu is a very close second. Can't wait to see them in action.

I'll miss the Lich from H5 though. There was something wickedly cool awesome about its ranged attack, the way the staff materializes out of nothing and after the shot disintegrates into nothing. I kept multiple lich stacks to see that effect more than once per round. :-D

Fate Spinner, fallowed by Festering Lamasu. Overall Necropolis seems to be the best designed faction so far.

Sure, I'll make my top 7 list.
7 is the best, 1 the worst.

1 (worst). Vampire
Sorry, but to me he does not look interesting at all. I do not think the Vampire has looked interesting and cool since H3 which pretty much nailed it. I had hoped for a scary, Nosferatu-like creature but instead we get an Arthas copy again.
Sorry, but I do not think they fit the Necropolis theme at all. I want my scary Vampires back! Damn you Twilight AND Arthas. xD

2. Ghost
I like this banshee a lot but then, it is still not incredibly original. I had hoped they could get a little bit more creative when creating it but still, I think it is better than many of the previous Ghosts and I think it has a very cool ability to move through walls etc. I am so glad that they decided to remove the super annoying "Miss! Miss! Miss!" thing with Incorporeality.

3. Skeleton
Previously, the Skeletons have mostly been very boring and in H5 comically looking. The H3 upgraded Skeleton looked cool though. Now we get our first spear-wielding Skeleton and it looks totally awesome because tbh, it never really made sense for something made out of bones to be on the frontline!

4. Lich
While the Lich does not look like anything special in the concept art, I have seen it in-game and it looks great! The new Lich looks a lot better than the old big lich with the wedding dress.
But other than the cool spell effect thing it has floating over its back, it is not really anything special.

5. Ghoul
I really like how they gave the old, fat, slow zombie are real makeover and made it look absolutely terrifying! The ghoul is also one of the more original creatures in the line-up.

6. Fate Spinner
I think it looks a lot like the SC2 Zerg Queen ("DROP IT!!!1") but it still looks totally awesome and I actually like the name, because in many mythologies you have the webs or threads of fate stuff. That they have two forms looks incredibly interesting aswell.

7. LAMASU
I love this creature! The egyptian/nubian/babylonian theme Necropolis seems to have in H6 is excellent and this creature is just beautiful! I dislike the names though, not Lamasu but the boring "Putrid" things. I also like that they did not go with a boring old Sphinx name but choosed something original instead.

I must say, I am disappointed that the Wraith did not make a return to H6. It seemed like a really popular creature.

I agree about ghouls.
Lamasu and Fate Spinner both look great, but it is hard to say how great they will really be.
And for the sake of not making the same old zombies as always, I vote Ghouls.

Actually I think that this guy is the actual inspiration. Not that it really matters, the model of the Vampire/Vampire Lord is indeed a cliche.

Haha, I doubt Kain was much of an influence, if one at all. It's unlikely you'll see Shakespearian dialogue coming out of this guy.
The Vampire is one of the few creature designs I had a problem with (mainly for the blatantly obvious Arthas similarity), but the animations should bring it up to scratch.

That Fate Spinner just looks ridiculously awesome.

The Fate Weaver doesn't look half as cool as the first one though, sadly. It almost looks like a downgrade to me.

The Fate Spinner looks graceful yet frightening and dangerous.

The Fate Weaver just looks... you know... evil. It loses its goddess look.

Respect for the normal version, disrespect for the upgrade.

Still qualifies for a vote though.

My Choices For favourite Necropolis Creatures, with 7 being the worst and 1 being the best

7) Lich/ArchLich- It's plain ugly. It's one of the few early artworks that I really hate: the Lich doesn't look real threatening, and The Arch Lich looks more like a witch doctor than a powerful undead sorcerer. I'd rather have the bulky H5 lich than this one, at least they looked somewhat menacing.

6) Ghoul- I kinda like it, but it's nothing special IMO.

5) Ghost- I kinda like it, but like the ghoul, nothing special

4) Skeleton- For skeletons, they look menacing and pretty awesome, especially the Bone Guard.

3) Lamassu- The two Lamassus kinda look the same, but the artwork looks sweet. I'd like to see this one in the game

2) Fate Spinner- I liked the fate spinner, but I didn't really like the Fate Weaver nearly as much.

1) Vampire- The Vampire looks Like a boss, Especially the Vampire Lord. The Armor is awesome, especially the Helmet. Even if you think it's an Arthas lookalike, it looks awesome. Plus, this version is more fitting in this necropolis than one of those ones that look like a count, or one of the older vampire models.

Kind of unrelated, but I find your signature funny given that it's in a thread discussing using necromancy to raise zombies and skeletons to fight.

I think the Fate Weaver is the coolest one, but most of them are great.

for me
starting from worst to the best

7 Ghoul (i personally don't like their look at all , the only good thing about Ghouls is the fact that they are New)
6 Lich (looks like an Old man with a cracked scull)
5 Ghost (average, nothing special)
4 Skeleton (stands higher Only because of the upgrade. Bone Guard looks Awesome, while basic skeleton is Boring)
3 Vampire (Love them! Look like a True Hero! Prefer the Vampire rather than the upgrade. Yes you are right, they look-alike Arthas, and so what, who cares, they are still cool!!! )
2 Fate Spinner (Brilliant isn't it??? just don't fancy the "sheeva"-form. "Spider"-form is way much better! Upgrade looks worse though)
1st Lamasu (Upgrade is absolutely the best looking Necro-creature!!! Viva la Festering Lamasu!!! Absolutely Gorgeous!!!)

Went with the Fate Weaver, but I really love the Lamassu design as well. The Lich is my least favourite, probably because I prefer the H5 version, it was the only decent looking Necropolis unit in H5. I find both the Ghost and Vampire a huge improvement from H5.

7. The Lich - The ugliest creature I have ever seen! It looks like Uncle Fester, without anything special about it! The Heroes V lich was incredible and I would be just happy if they just copy-pasted its outlook in H6, but ... again, they went for THE NEW!!! Bullsnow!

6. The Ghost - The ugly banshees from Warcraft 3 is not what I consider the best looking Ghost...

5. The Vampire - Not all that bad, but again, it looks like an Arthas clone. Acceptable, though.

4. The Ghoul - What was wrong with the zombies of old? Why should they shove this alien-like freak down our throats? However, it has it's strong points, looks agressive.

3. The Skeleton - The good old skeleton is back and this time FINALLY it looks like something. In H3, it sucked. In H4, it sucked even more. In H5, it looked like a child's toy. Now, with the glows and stuff, It's nice to me.

2. The Fate Spinner - Well, of course it looks awesome but here comes the question... ummm ... who ever said that the Necropolis was a matriarchal, feminine faction? Half of its units in heroes 6 are female, which to me sucks. The main drawback of the Fate Spinner is its incredibly dull name. Simply one of the most stupid things I've ever heard! I say again, it looks very, very good, but I personally would have put it as a 6th level unit, with the classical Bone Dragon makind its return as the Champion unit, with a completely redone artwork.

1. The Lamasu - Incredibly good-looking unit, that's why I have put it in my 1st place, but somehow it cannot convince me that it it an undead unit... Would suit Dungeon more (in case there is such a faction in H6, which I strongly doubt). And btw, I forgot to mention that its RETARDED name almost tops that of the "Fate Spinner"...

As a whole, I am disappointed with the Necropolis lineup and even moreso with the names of the creatures.
