Went with the Fate Weaver, but I really love the Lamassu design as well. The Lich is my least favourite, probably because I prefer the H5 version, it was the only decent looking Necropolis unit in H5. I find both the Ghost and Vampire a huge improvement from H5.

I would say i find Every unit and actually Everything a Huge improvement from H5 -)

Lol, you are the first person that I know of to be disappointed with the Necropolis lineup. Just saying. And it's 3/7 female units so not really half. Lastly, Bone Dragons sucks and I glad they get rid of that creature. Fate Spinner way better! Best Necro lineup imo.

Edit: They just seem to include more female units this time around (like in Haven too) so its kinda normal actually.

I voted Fate Spinner / Fate Weaver

however I absolutely adore the Lamasu's lore so it gets a big honorable mention

2. The Fate Spinner - Well, of course it looks awesome but here comes the question... ummm ... who ever said that the Necropolis was a matriarchal, feminine faction? Half of its units in heroes 6 are female, which to me sucks. The main drawback of the Fate Spinner is its incredibly dull name. Simply one of the most stupid things I've ever heard! I say again, it looks very, very good, but I personally would have put it as a 6th level unit, with the classical Bone Dragon makind its return as the Champion unit, with a completely redone artwork.

1. The Lamasu - Incredibly good-looking unit, that's why I have put it in my 1st place, but somehow it cannot convince me that it it an undead unit... Would suit Dungeon more (in case there is such a faction in H6, which I strongly doubt). And btw, I forgot to mention that its RETARDED name almost tops that of the "Fate Spinner"...

As a whole, I am disappointed with the Necropolis lineup and even moreso with the names of the creatures.

Why does it matter if the undead bodies are male or female? They worship a goddess so Necropolis does have the matriarchal touch whether you like it or not. And how's Fate Spinner a "dull" name? Also, there's only so much they can do with a dragon-skeleton, it's already one of the most unimaginative units in the whole Heroes world, most people are welcoming the change here.

So even if the developers say a unit is undead, you're not convinced? Not sure about your point here, it's almost like saying "it cannot convince me that the priestess would go to battle dressed like that".

It is the best line up in Necro's history - even top the lovely H3 line up

many new creatures, lovely, fresh ideas and a totally redesign of "dead" creatures

The thing I am loving about H6 already is that they don't stick the old and boring creatures - they wanted to reinvent the factions make them fresh and new - the necro line up is a prove of that so I absolutely love it - and the vampire is not a problem, looks massive and tough . though I never understood why they use blades - we should have some serious biting action

Even though I'm glad that they have removed the bone dragon from necropolis, I hope anyway that the unit is instead there as a neutral unit. Afterall undead version of other units are cool

And I agree with some people, the lich looks pretty dull since in is no longer a skeleton, not that it matter much though.

Female undead units are just fine, as long as not every unit is it (vampires, skeletons and ghouls )

* According to the timeline, necromancy was only discovered in 461 YSD and the rise of the Necromancers took place almost 50 years after H6, in 610. How is it possible the Necromancers are such a strong force at this point in time?

At the time of Heroes VI, Necromancers are just a group of wizards, not a full Nation. They are part of the 7 cities. But their cult is 100 years old. Heroes VI is the turning point where Necromancers come to the foreground.

Sooo this is why the necro lineup is different this time

Explains a lot really

I can't help but dislike the Fate Spinner.  This isn't D&D, the undead are not Drow.  Furthermore, they remind me of the ultra stupid Matriachs and their chainmail bikinis.

But, I guess I expect too much of developers who have liches as vampires preskin.

Why men always want more male characters in games? Females are just the same in every aspect, the only differents is mostly underneath the clothes

I agree, all I'm saying is I just don't want every unit in the necropolis to be female or in any other faction for that matter.(unless they make a amazon faction )

EDIT: They should also use this boneyard/necronaut creature instead of the Bonedragon thing, this skeletal thing can morph into any form it desires, cool for neutral!

I love this idea!

Since everyone is rating the Necro Creatures, I might as well join the show. Note that I don't dislike any of them, but I have a few things to comment about them.

7. Ghoul; Don't get me wrong, it's way better a choice than Zombies any day of the week. It's just not doing it for me, but maybe I'm too used to the down-on-all-fours, not decomposing Ghouls from DMoMM.

6. Ghost; It's nothing realy special.

5. Vampire; It looks proper knightly with a certain elegance. But I can't tell it's a vampire without knowing. I agree with the Arthas sentiment, but I don't find it that much a problem. I would prefer if it turned into a bat again instead of teleporting, but that's just nitpicking. Lastly, unlike some people, I'm glad it's not one of those Nosferatu-monstrocities and I'd take a Béla Lugosi Stock-character over one of those any day of the week.

4. Lich; I like it. It looks evil, undead and magicy. Which would be everything you would want in a Lich. Especially love how the Archlich is semi-mummyfied.

3. Skeleton; Best Skeleton yet.

2. Fate Spinner; Good, Verry good. It will make a very good replacement for the Bone Dragon, though I will still miss it.  The thing that's keeping it from first place is that the Upgrade is a bit of a let-down. The Headdress and the bright whites and greens realy let it down.

1. Lamasu; Best new Necro-unit. Original and interesting. It looks amazing and has one of the best backgrounds yet.

Only one word describes the Necropolis - awesome. All the creatures just look so badass!
The Skeleton finally looks good and I'm really happy that the zombies are gone, I never used them much but the Ghoul looks very nice. The Ghost is a little average but still not bad. Vampires and Liches also have nice graphics. The Lamasu is genius, wonderful design. But my absolute favorite is the Fate Spinner. When I saw it, I was just "WOW!" and the other creatures were not that interesting anymore.
And I also love the fact that there are more female creatures.

Lets see...
14: Lich is SO not as good as he was in H3 or H5! Need some bones in there!
13: Arclich: Mostly the same as Lich but here is mummyfied and more evil looking. Still needs to be more skeletical.
12: Spectre looks ''lighty'' if you ask me unlike most necropolis. Needs more dark in it.
11: Ghost is good but I think it needs some more details.
10: Ghoul is like the ghost not bad but could be better overall.
9: Skeleton is  cool but not as cool as most other creatures.
8: Grave Goul is fixed of the ghouls main problem but could be better.
7: Vampire Lord looks more like a warrior Arthas than a vampire.
6: Vampire is Arthas from the Warcraft Universe here. Needs more originality.
5: Boneguard is realy cool because of its look and is the best core unit.
4: Lamasu is like Great but not as good as 3, 2 and 1.
3: The fate spinner can transform! Really good.
2: Unlike most people I prefer the Fate Weaver over the Fate spinner.
1: The Festering Lammasu is like an bone dragon but not draconic, has more skin and a great look! The Best Necropolis creature EVER

I like the Ghoul, I like the Lamasu (a lot).

Everything else is pretty much "meh" for me. The spider woman is interesting only because it's a new creature.

I dislike the Lich (bc I think H5 lich was way better, albeit being a little comical).

And I still think H2 Vampire is the best vampire in the series.

PS! Skeletons are also nice, but they have always been cool.

Overall I think Necro looks good.

In terms of what? Artwise, the Lamasu and Fate Spinner beat the crap out of the Shadow Dragon. Gameplay wise, we don't know yet though I doubt we can compare their strength due to few different gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, Bone/Shadow/Ghost Dragon is arguably the weakest tier 7 in H5.

I gotta say the Vampires looks overall best, a much improved look over the ones in H5. But that dosent mean the rest of the lineup is not notworthy, I totally like it!
Fresh and interesting lineup indeed. Also the liches and ghouls resembel the ones in Dark Messiah quite alot. And THATS a good thing. As with all of the creatures I have seen for H6. They all look more mature, darker, serious which is very welcome!
