Exactly; it just sounds weird. Nagas as a creature just feel far better as a single unit, rather than a race, to me. They're very much so a mythological creature, and even for H5 factions based around races were all humanoid.

Like I mentioned earlier, the following has never been done as a faction in any heroes series? Why not?

Well I don't think that this is a faction in the Heroes stile. If there is something like that I would never play with it.

if there is a hive faction, I more see it as like the tyranids. you know, all consuming, all devouring, follow only the will of the queens, anti-magical force.

I can see these kind of vermin type units as being fragile meaning less hitpoints across the board compared to other faction's units. But their lack of tanking ability might be compensated in their strength in numbers. I would think that recruiting these type of creatures would be cheaper than any other faction creatures.

Well, they've shown to know their facts about other cultures. Whether we get nagas or not you'll see that they have done their homework. Also I know for a fact that they do not want to copy wow, for one ghouls might have had a cannibalize ability had they gone that route.

I personally want some kind of a mix vermin faction, maybe some units from dungeon and fortress. I'm not quite sure yet what would please me. But I do want at least 1 vermin type warrior creature for hire maybe 2.

Hmmm, maybe that lends more credence to the people suggesting that based on Mr. Romero's comments there would be an Asian-themed faction?
In any case, I have been thoroughly impressed with Black Hole's efforts so far, and am glad to hear they're still on top of stuff.

What kind of Asian do you mean? Like South east Asia? Cambodia, India, Thailand that part of the world?

Check the first page in the Artwork thread, there will see 2 artworks of nagas, So if that is the kind of Asian they are after it is Japanese style.

I bet if they stick with the Asian Nagas, they'll either be imperialistic, secretive, caste-based, and/or in tune with nature. Oooo. Maybe their leader will be called emperor or dynamo?

The Asian Nagas look totally awesome! If it could be not only a Naga faction but a faction with Asian mythology, I think that it will really be interesting.

Hrm....Really not liking the female one, but the male one is okay, I guess. Why in god's name would a Naga be wearing a kimono? And the hair looks ridiculous. Asian themed does not necessitate looking like you just walked out of like 1500s Japan.
Man, I really hope they don't do Asian nagas...

That's concept artwork by Olivier Ledroit. They are meant to serve as inspiration, not to be used at face value. Units or heroes may borrow part of the sword, clothing or anything really.

I agree fully, as we both have said before Aztec-stlye would be much better. However if they are going for the Japanese-style I really hope they tune it down a bit. And yeah understand that the above just are old consepts, but still

You guys don't see anything wrong with this!? These "Japanese Naga" look Awful! AWFUL!! Besides China and Japan were never really that big into Naga. South East Asia is where Naga were really worshiped. Plus if they were South east Asian inspired you could have really cool south east Asian inspired cities.
