Heroes III Adventure Map Video Guide

I put up the first part of what I hope to be a series of guides to Heroes III basics on my Youtube account. This one's about the adventure map; I know it's hardly exhaustive but I merely wanted to give a brief overview of essentials of the adventure map, as there's so much to cover. I plan to do 3 more videos to cover hero, town, and combat basics, and then a "meet the town" kind of video for each town; I'm not a high-level player and don't claim to be so these videos will focus solely on the elementary stuff about the game. Any thoughts or comments as to how I can improve the videos are welcome. Hope you enjoy!

If its for new players who want to learn the basics it would propably be easier if you were actually playing the game and explained at the same time. Currently its awful lot of information and no real action happening for quite a few minutes at start.

Like "thats my town, yada-yada", hire some troops, do a battle. Maybe give a few tips how to figure out that you can beat lots of imps but cant beat throng of archangels week 1 (unless you are vet).

If youre doing a very general guide it would make more sense to talk about all things during the proccess (rather than make a whole video about the adventure map).

Also, maybe Ive spend too much time with this game but some of the things dont need much explanation, for example when your cursor turns into sword you gonna attack someone. Its very intuitive.

Other than that, keep up the good work! Hopefully we will have more people playing in the future thanks to this.

The reason I didn't go into combat and towns is because I'm working on more in-depth videos for them, respectively, but I'll definitely keep that in mind for future ones.

Went and took a look Man...when it's the "beginning" there's a lot to talk about. Funny how years of experience seems to minimize that sea of info. into what we call a...no-brainer

One thing came to mind while watching about the resources was something that I failed to use/know/whatever for a long time during a million games...that button that gives the overviews on Kingdom activities like daily resource collection.

<IMO>You're a natural at this.

One Q, RU doing the "Speakers-trick" with a bulleted prompt card/copy-sheet to be able to glance at, to keep you flowing as you intend? I am assuming you are since you are not stumbling and your delivery is pretty smooth. Anyway, I bring that up because I have had to do a lot of public speaking in the past I found that aid is almost more important the "better you know a subject" because there is so much to talk about. Just thought I would share that, nothing was dragging it out of me Good job again

I'm actually not using a notecard, but I maybe should, because I often have to record these things like three or four times. Good idea.

It's a very good tool. I was trained to use "index cards" which is fine for teaching or speeching but IYC I would use a sheet of copy-paper and post it just off your shoulder. Since your head is not in the shot (that I remember) you should have enough space that glancing at it is easy. It is the very same trick the anchors use on a newscast w/ teleprompters or the Prez for that matter but unfortunately you can't put it right next to the monitor

The trick is to use what I call "capture words". Any word that (to you) conjurs up an entire train of thought. That's what I meant by bulleted-list. Just a little practice and it's amazing how well you will flow. Like I said, You know this game like the back of your hand, so this is great for organizing the "flow". It is soooo easy to omit things when talking to a Noob about anything really. Sorry for the ramble. Clearly I've a passion for what you're doing and going to be doing it seems

Thanks for all the pointers! Always good to hear from someone who actually knows what they're doing.

Hard to believe; I used to get cash for info sharing.

"They can take my job, they can take my cash, but they will never take my SHARING!"

Man...that helped. I felt the hidden-power
