He looks... slow

Also damnit just noticed Wet and Cold is a scripty hog, uninstalling, making new character.

I'm super careful with script mods because of previous experiences with stuff like Crimson Tide and others making my save games bloat to oblivion (hoho).

EDIT:

ONE ****ING HUNDRED.

Ok, random modding tip for you guys.

First, install SKSE, oh you already have that? Good. Now go to Data, open SKSE folder, open the SKSE.ini. If you don't have one make one.

Enter this:

[General]
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

Save and close.

Now your game will actively remove lingering scripts from removed mods, potentially saving your game and character over time if you do a lot of risky modding. Doesn't hurt to have it active either way.

This is a function included in SKSE that is actually not very known despite it being absolutely awesome.

Nono, icy Skyrim. Tropical would totally break frostfall and my character's cold attitude toward all those who'd dwell in such a horrible place, though he's rather kind toward Khajiits.

Well here's Brandir my current character, fresh outta Riverwood.

Looks like pretty much every other Nord character I've made, 'cept he's got fancy dragon teeth warpaint on him which I find kinda neat for a Dragonborn.

Wields two-handed axes, likes smithing and focuses on survival. This means focusing on block/heavy armor skill and gear enchanted for regenerating fast through Enchanting Awakened's "Corpus" specialization.

He'll basically laugh at you trying to hit him while he avoids by parrying, dodging and using Ethereal Shout, and then he'll cleave you with a battleaxe when you're exhausted.

Other random tip.

Open Skyrim.ini

under [General] add:

bDisableGearedUp=0

Now all your favourited items will show up on your character all the time. This means that your e.g. ranger character can look fully armed by having both his bow and his two-hander show on his back at the same time.

There's only one bug I know of with this and that is that if you switch weapons without sheathing then the previous weapon will remain visible in your hand which looks real ****ed up. However if you play realistically and sheathe before switching weapon then it works amazingly.

Omg so that's what I did to get it! My brothers (3 out of 8) got Skyrim a while ago, one of them is insane about modding and downloads all manner of crap, while the older one is totally mod-shy, anyway I spent hours trying to find the mod that does this, thought that it had to be a manual install or something.

Though as good as that glitch sounds (and it is good) in the heat of a Requiem battle (where a split second is the difference between life and horrible dismemberment) I always manage to screw up.

There's a huge mod called Armed to the Teeth that does the same thing but in a totally backwards manner, maybe that's the mod you think of.

The functionality is actually in the game from the start but Beth disabled it because of the obvious bugs.

However, you can actually mod the bugs away too :3 Well partially at least.

Hmm, just got the game and there are 30 000 mods for. You guys explored the most of them? I remember Morrowing or Oblivion had some hundred mods available so we could install and test all, but here it looks impossible. How to choose from?!

Rofl, this is my first new game since 5-6 years and I already don't know how you do guys, to support this BS. After placing the CD, it spends 10 minutes to uninstall Steam (wtf is) then exit saying can't install; then I click again on install, then it asks to create account, NO-Salamandre is NOT GOOD, you need Salamandre549862 to be able to, then mail address, Stop! Password too short, return! STOP! create new account or retrieve old, back, return, click, reclick.

Ahh, 20 minutes later, I see a little 0% in the top left side, it downloads Skyrim.

...

.....

.........

20 minutes later: 2%. Where is the vodka?

Tell me this is a joke. IT MUST BE A JOKE, RIGHT?

Screw that guy and his perverted bull****

Behold, Hodilton

Has superior taste and his rig is basically an alien mothership mainframe ^_^

EDIT:

@Sal: It shouldn't take that long to download, takes me about an hour or two but depends on your connection of course.

As for modding, wow this is a bad time. You're part of a legion of people getting Skyrim for christmas and it's putting insane stress on the Nexus servers. Or at least that's what I think it is, Nexus is being super effing annoying...

Regardless, it's better to experience the vanilla game by itself first I think. You'll have lotsa fun, and when you get bored then there's well... those 30 000 mods you speak of ^_^

I will start with mods, from Oblivion and Morrowind experience I saw that game is much better once players add/fix things. Especially the mod which skips the introduction, I want to play, not look at their cut scenes.

However this is very annoying, not yet 50% installed. What's wrong with those guys, this is first time I see some game so unfriendly to install.

Alrighty then, since you won't know what you really want to improve I suggest just following STEP for an enhanced experience.

It will be much less buggy, better looking and more smooth.

Thanks, I will read a bit here to see what you guys have used, then I saw you can filter mods by popularity, downloads and such, then I know a bit from Oblivion how to avoid same type of mods and incompatibility.
