I still don't get why Bethesda worked so messily in their method of delivering a Civil War, as it seems it was originally meant to be far more strategic, you would have had to raid villages, defend keeps and actually attack every capital, not just Whiterun, Solitude and Windhelm.

Until now I know only of that guy who made the overhaul, but honestly, I still find that lacking, I mean, the Imperial troops should build massive siege engines, charge with knights and overall fight in tight formations.

While Stormcloaks would have fast attacking groups of troopers, pikemen and should dig tunnels to crumble walls.

This is awesome.

I've started to play Skyrim in a very different way.

There are tons of great adventures awaiting for me, but too bad. I won't experience them.

Made a dude, fled out of Helgen then stopped giving a bleep. got a bow and arrows and went to to get some game.

basically roleplaying a hunter, who sells off his catch and stuff.

I want to play through Skyrim again....can't seem to keep away from this game for longer than a month.
Has anyone tried the live another life mod? I fancy using it for this play through.

I'll be waiting for the enhanced version.

As I understand, being a noble deity PC gamer, who happens to mod himself, and owning all DLCs Bethesda will gift me my birthright of a "fixed" game (hopefully).

Yes, is a mod which offers alternative starts, to avoid the long introduction, I used it from the beginning. Other than that, the changes are only virtual, no quests, no new abilities, nothing.

epic thread ressurection time!

So, I've recently updated my NMM client, which also required to reinstall all of my mods and crap.

Now some of the textures are effed in the a.
I have some white squares popping up over the terain (had the violet texture glitch as well, but that was fixed with an updated CBBE mod for some reason)
In essence, the distant landscape textures appear to be white.

CBBE is the only texture mod I use, the others are house/weapon/armor mods for the most of them.

Another resurrection.

For fun I decided to triple Skyrim's size.
I also spawned a dragon in a remote location from the region's origin (0 -110) just to test if there were still bugs.

At the exception of the dragon never landing and me being unable to pick up arrows from some angles it worked well enough.

Among other tests I did:
-Trying to open barrels, same problem with activating in some angles
-Casting flames on the ground, until now the ground gets charred
-Fighting NPCs, they don't move if there's not a navmesh, but they work.
-Using interior cells, they work as intended.
-Saving and reloading, reloading teleports me to Riverwood's inn where Orgnar and the bard are standing naked.

In my quest for amusement I created a cell that is completely out of the game's bounds, at a Y coordinate of -512.

The game works. It has only a single issue, animations become quite jittery.

Well... I don't get why the folks at beyond Skyrim were so reluctant to put everything in one worldspace at this point. The little inconvenience with activation isn't worth abandoning huge worldspaces...

Fun fact: Even if we tripled Skyrim's size, put all of Tamriel on Skyrim's map with triple proportions, the entire landmass wouldn't reach the -512 cell.

Creating right now a Skyrim overhaul, with exhaustive changes to perk trees, animals stats, bandits behavior.

The most raging thing is that Skyrim is not difficulty modable. You face the (almost) biggest monsters (draugr) as soon as you start the main quest.

Sure, they all level with you, which means HP, weapons material ans mana pool. But, outside the level, the players has a whole arsenal as enchanting potions, fortify skill gear, perks, which basically make you a god before level 30.

So how to make the game equally interesting at start, at middle and at end, that's the question.

Anyone that can play it, should play it.  No exceptions.  It's interesting, well written, well designed, well executed and waaaaaay more deep and involved than Skyrim.  9/10.

You won't regret it, friend.  Grab the Forgotten Stories expansion, by the way.  Vanilla is good, but the game with added content is just way better.
