@Ivor: It's the Call of Duty generation. They see an NPC and they do not see a potential friend or a quest, they see a bag of blood waiting to be torn open.
Or it's just crowd behaviour

I think Skyrim is the first game I'm going to play like a proper RPG, no loading back and living with the consequences of my actions. Not to mention enjoying the many fine taverns, ah I can finally make my perfect character.

Wondering if I'm gonna invest in an adapter for my PC so I can play Skyrim with a 360 controller... the whole left hand/right hand setup seems so suited to a gamepad...
I mean, imagine pressing left MB to block, and right MB to strike, that's kinda weird.
Then again I doubt it takes that long to get used to... and mods will no doubt use the extra buttons a keyboard provides...

Wait you need an adapter? I just plugged it in and it worked for battlefield 2142 
Also video, their dedication and joy is welded into the game. That is what we reap when we play the game. Skyrim ftw.

Yeah that works, if you have something that you can plug in My controller is wireless so I would need a receiver to plug into the computer.
One of the best quotes I've ever heard from Todd was in that video...

It's what transforms a good game to a truly great game... 
EDIT: God I'm so pissed right now... managed to get myself spoiled about one of the major surprises in the game... damn people just can't shut up about leaked info...
I can't even read the forums anymore. I gotta stay out of it for the next 9 days haha...

Well i trust you not to post any leaked spoilers here. However that does mean that you're the one crawling through the minefield though.

Nah I gave the guy who spoiled it my full internet rage... he basically thought himself a superhero for revealing info that Bethesda has "hidden" from us... ****er doesn't understand the meaning of... you know... ****ING SURPRISES!
Well **** I can tell you that you'll be positively surprised when you play the game at least. I ain't spoiling anythin'.

Playing a bit of The Witcher 2 myself...
Graphics are way superior to Skyrim's btw
Mods'll improve Skyrim in time though, wonder if it can reach the same level.

And I highly doubt there will be any major differences besides some higher resolution textures.

Well I recon that the Witcher, beautiful as it is, features a far smaller game world than Skyrim does, so I suppose that's a factor.

Well you have scenes like this... looks as good as Skyrim's Distant LOD files imo.
I believe that if CDPRED wanted to they could damn well have made a high-scale open-world RPG with their engine. It doesn't fit with their style of presenting a story though so I can see why they didn't do it.
I have no doubt that Skyrim will be absolutely amazing though, but graphically it doesn't seem to be the "HOLY ****" experience that Oblivion was.

I want this game so badly right now. 
Problem is that I won't have time to play it properly until Tuesday afternoon because of a party this weekend and some stupid exam on Tuesday. :/

Bethesda has released new videos... not watching them. Though apparently the finishing moves against Giants is awesome as all ****... but I've seen enough already...
Treated myself by checking the perk trees though... so I can plan my character.
The Blocking tree is made of absolute win.
Take Shield Charge to knock just about anyone down by sprinting with your shield raised! Crowd control!
Take Elemental Protection to raise your Frost/Fire/Shock resistances by 50% (!) when you block. Yeah screw you you lame wizard ****, I block your fireballs and then shield bash your wrinkly face.
Get the Shield Bash upgrades and send enemies flying off cliffs with one mighty bash! Positioning is key in battle...!
God I love shields. Gonna use a shield/axe setup for my character... probably roleplay that I used to be a forester... perfected the art of swinging an axe by chopping countless trees... which is why I use those instead of swords.
