(MOD addendum: It turns out that the answer was ultimately yes, it will. HotA version 1.0 [url=http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=26298]was released[/url] on 31 December, 2011.)
some moderator closed the whole thread and i can't find any info about it...
what happened?? is it dead? or close to release? Beta??

It's not so much taboo as it's spam. Half of the posts in the old thread were questions "when will it be released?" and there's no telling when it will be released. I have a feeling some fans think there are teams of experts working on projects all the time and will release their work any day now, as soon as they've polished a few more details. However, it's usually a few enthusiasts on a closed forum who have real life commitments and sometimes don't get back to modding for months at a time. A bunch of projects were started five or more years ago but few have been released. What if I told you I was going to make an awesome mod, but it won't be out for another five years? In the meantime some of you will graduate, get married, serve in the army... That's reality, but imagine some people asking "when" until 2016. On the other hand, I understand people are eager to play it. Heck, I'm glad they are still eager to play it. I guess these threads keep the interest alive. Nevertheless, I believe it'd be better if modders posted some progress from time to time and get some feedback and encouragement. But it's not my call. As it is, topics such as this are needless. HotA will be released when it's released, if ever. Just my two cents, mind you - you don't have to agree.

HotA will be released when it's released? Fair enough.
But what about those new to H3 and can't find info about whether it is released or not? Those people ask the questions. I don't think there's anything to prevent it. If you really don't know the answer, the best way is to ask, which is what is being done here. Though annoying to those who've read and/or answered those questions for over three years now, they should all deserve a proper answer without immediately receiving the label "to delete". And if these questions would show up until 2016, then we should kindly answer until 2016.

Well.
Let me tell what I know.
No matter how ready HotA, even it's beta does not come without a campaign, which is now working.
Although the Cove Town ready, as well as several objects, artifacts, etc., but all this is meaningless without the least bit ready campaign...

Well,these guys could make only 1 town,which shouold be ready now,instead of showing hundreds of screenshoots with unfinished towns.

who is actually working on those projects? i know they are doing it for free, but i thought they where some ex-workers of the original HoMM III.
and whats the differents between Hota and WOG 3.59?
and if they are "amateurs", will some other towns (bastion, grove, forge, etc.) be in the expension? as far as i know they pirate town will be in the HotA expension much questions i got there, hehe

That's exactly why previous thread has been closed. No one knows anything, but all the people ask more and mores stupid questions and create rumours. There's no need to discuss if the Team didn't share anything new.
