i HATE Stronghold!!!
the MOST boring faction of ALL!!!!
nothing intertaining about them..
Hate their Hack And Slash way of battle..
no magic.. booooo...
and now they are Orc faction...Even WORSE!!!
i personally don't like them at all

Necropolis. But it might change in H6 (in H5 I liked them even less than Inferno).
You should have included the provisional Naga faction among the options as a gift to Nightterror & OmegaDestroyer.

I think every of these factions have good and bad sides. For example I love Academy/Tower in HoMM 5&3 for powerfull magic, Mages and Titans but hate snowty Gargoyle. When I started playing HoMM 5 I worship Sylvan for speed and endless luck but then I played campaigns and discover that "Daaamn, Haven is awesome!" or "Death is nothing when you play Necropolis" Every faction is great in their unique way.

Inferno.
Ugh.
To me, the Demons are a completly uninteresting race and the town, in H5 atleast, was just annoying to play with horrible creeping at the start and overall boring creatures except for the Pit fiend.
My main problem with Inferno is that they are usually the main villians and yet, their lore and story is soooo boring and uninteresting. Their goal is always to destroy the world and that isn't an interesting story.
If I made H6, I would not have included Inferno.
In my H7 idea there are six towns: Tech Haven, Sorceress "Sylvan", Evil "Sky Academy", Monster Dungeon, Lizardmen Fortress with Naga and icy, cold undead Necropolis.

Sorry, but that was pretty stupid, man... Stronghold is an interesting and unique faction that you play when you get bored of magic. When you play with them, you use their mighty, brutal units to annihilate your opponents without having to bother about what kinds of spells you will have to use. Stronghold have always been a great addition to the other factions.
As far as the topic is concerned, I'd say CONFLUX - the most gay-rainbow, uninspired, childish, imbalanced faction of all time!

Without forcing my opinion down others throats, I say Haven generally, though the H6 version seems to be the most interesting Castle/Knight/Haven faction of all, regarding its precursors.
Why are Humans IMO ALWAYS shiny, holy, trashcan armored justice brats?? BORING and CLICHE.
Why couldnt there be a faction were the Humans could be barbaric tribes people living in the woods and practice summoning magic for example? Where the heck is the creativity by ALWAYS facing the stereotypical, most cliche path?
And I love Infernos philosophy. Destructive, brutal YES. Evil? No!
Its about the survival of the fittest, even if they are created out of Urgash's jealousy. Nature is fair and cruel  All other factions have more or less a bit of the same philosophy, hidden under their sugar coated carpet 
I want to like the Inferno faction but they always seems to be put to be one if not the weakest one. Excluding my skills with them.

well, i don;t find it stupid, and i would say i have a right for my personal opinion.. as well as everyone here..
anyways if we were choosing the WORST faction, i would certanly agree with you, and name Conflux..
but as we go for the most HATED (which means only Personal Opinion based on some thoughts) then i certanly go for Stronghold.. I just don't like them at all.. i imgine barbarians to be Norse mythology based faction.. not what we have.. and if i want to play without relaying on magic, i will rather play Haven and focus on Defence and Attack forgetting about Spellpower, then Stronghold bunch of Orcs.!
anyways that's just IMO

Academy would be my least favorite out of these; while it's not a bad town, the Genie and Gargoyle make my eyes bleed.

well the inferno came to mind, because they are so one dimensional, but i wouldn't say they are among my least favorite, b/c they are atleast fun to play as...i'm liking the breeder creature so far, and succubi are always nice
i've always liked the idea of a necropolis town, but they really haven't been executed well up to this point...i am, however, loving that they are focusing on the spider aspect of the necropolis 'religion' for heroes 6
i've never been fond of the academy either...i like the titans, and the genies...but don't really care for any of the other creatures

I voted Haven because it's the faction I've disliked in every single Heroes game and because NWC in H1/H2/H3 and Ubisoft in H5 have been putting way too much emphasis on this dull faction. Haven is boring, unoriginal and there's no "magic" feeling from this faction because of the "normality" of its units.
If it had made it live to the game, Forge would have been my most hated faction.

I vote Inferno. Nor H3 nor H5 infernos were of interest for me.
However, H6 inferno looks like I will have fun with them.
And Sylvan comes 2d, close to the first. Dull, dull, dull.
