I so did not expect this... Wonderful turn! So... You stated that the Phoenix Lady sent the letters... Well, that isn't the absolute true but she knows about them alright and she know very well what is written in them so no big deal. I've already figured out who should her master be - should I reveal it soon?

Goodness me! I was still rereading my post but you have acknowledged and replied! Thanks, evinin!

Honestly, I'm rather confused at this moment. How many Ladies we are having now?  Since the introduction of the Phoenix Lady in Zehir's fic, I assume she's the only one. But I see we also have Curse Lady? And these Ladies have a master? Guess I need to chew the whole thing a little bit slowly
____________
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it.

One Lady - many names. And she is cursed, being something demonic and so. She is also half-dead. Apparently she is working for someone who promised her something (a cure maybe?). That someone needs some of the heroes alive, some dead. I think that is what is known by now (I have the whole idea but I'm giving the pieces slowly).

Riight... Sometimes I'm forgetting it's a game and that each of us should adapt to the narrative instead of simply flowing with own prose  Got it now, will go slower following the pieces

This Monday narrative is a short dialog that gives tips for the next parts. It's only for Duncan and Gnomes. I would like to receive a narrative, too, but you don't have to do it as I. I would like something short but separated for the two heroes.

“You failed me!!! You will pay for that!” His voce filled the whole cave and the echo repeated it a couple of times. The Phoenix Lady tried to hide her fear. “You will ruin everything! You don’t want to lose your last chance, do you?!”

“No master! I’m sorry, I can fix everything! I’ll make Freyda leave her kingdom, I swear, I will! I’m ready to do everything! I’ll even help Laszlo kill Duncan or something else! Give me another chance.”

“We just need her to be away for a while, and then you will be free to kill her. By the way – is Findan already looking for the “blade”?”
“Yes master – he has no idea what’s going to happen to him.”

“Good, good… Ylaya must not reach him, kill her if you have. Go now, I have to prepare myself. Oh… One last thing – if I heard that you’ve talked to Zehir and Raelag again, the deal is off.”

Mal-Beleth sat up in his throne. "My old general... Are you going to come back, my right hand?" He asked the strands of fate that moved in front of him. "With each passing day, this future becomes more and more certain... Ah, general. When you come, bring that temptress of yours, Biara. I need you again."

The master laughed coldly to himself. Fool. You are blind to your own downfall, though you look at all of fate. Yes, come back to him, Agreal, come back.

And kill your master.

Cyrus walked up the stairs to the high wizard council's chambers. Many of the elderly spell casters bowed respectfully to him and took a step back. Others just stared in shock or confusion. When Cyrus was certain that everyone was paying attention to him, he asked the assembled mages, "Where is my son?"

Ok, thanks, Gnomes.

Anyway, like I said I "know" who is the mastermind behind the whole thing and what's his goal. I'll summarize all that you know about him:
- he is a male
- he is maybe dead, maybe vanished, maybe banished, but for sure he can't do his job alone
- he is really powerful and sends the letters
- he needs some of the heroes alive and some dead
- he made a deal with the Phoenix Lady and uses her as his right hand

No entries? Fine...

Zehir was sitting in his dark room alone. He could hear loud voices outside, everyone was cheering that his father was back again stronger than ever. All of the wizards were mostly sure that they could defeat Markal easily. But Zehir had doubts. He wasn’t sure about the whole situation, he wasn’t sure about the new Cyrus – was he working for the Phoenix Lady and her master or was he really going to help? Zehir didn’t know what to do. He just sat in the dark room alone.

Raelag was furious. Not only some other leader had rebelled against him but Ylaya was missing, too. The dark elf found himself in a very bad situation. His servants didn’t trust him; even the Black dragons couldn’t feel anymore that he was an elf. It more looked like he was a… Raelag didn’t even want to think about it. He couldn’t leave his people to search for Isabel which made him even more frustrated. On the top of that he wasn’t sure if Biara was alive again or not.

“Hello, Zehir.” He quickly looked around but he didn’t saw her. That made him nervous. “You are not in a good shape, are you?”

“You can kill me with ease now and there’s nothing I can do about it. So – please, go on.” Her cold laugh filled the tower’s room.

“I’m not here to kill you, silly – I’ll leave that pleasure for the master. By the way, sweetie – you know who he is but you haven’t realized it yet.”

“And I guess you won’t tell me? Why are you here anyway? Where are you actually?” He looked around again.

“I’m watching you, Zehir, isn’t it obvious? I miss you.” Her words pained him but he didn’t say anything. “Our friendship was a real thing – this time I’m not lying. This Cyrus isn’t your father – he is an illusion that I made. Kill him and you will have your powers again. Think about it.” An owl took off from the nearest tree branch.

“I can feel your presence. What do you want, traitor?” The owl blinked innocently and landed on the ground. “Don’t play games with me.”

“I’m not in a mood either. I just showed a dear friend the surest way to doom. I’m going to do it a couple of times.” Raelag tried to kick the bird but it run in the air.

“I’ll ask again – what do you want?”

“I want only to help you. I know where Isabel is and I’m going to tell you. She is kept as a prisoner in the place when we first saw Tieru. I’ll race you.” Raelag watched the owl leaving. He understood what her game was.

Sorry, busy a hell all of last week! *Post will come soon*

Say, Evenin, what do you say to me bringing in Tarnum from Heroes Chronicles?

Eruina muttered a small prayer to Malassa as they topped the last mountain of the plain of earth. So far, fortunately, the elementals that they had encountered had left them alone and completely unmolested. And they had seen many. On this plain, they were mostly earth elementals, of course, but occasionally the group had seen a wisp of solidified air or a brightly burning being moving along side them. The entire time they had been here, since they had entered this place of eternal twilight, a single intelligent and calculating elemental from the plain of water had followed them, stopping when they did and seeming to be both escort and watchman over the party.

Unlike all the other creations, who did have minds that Eruina could detect and influence, this water elemental seemed to be shielded from any attempts to force her way into its psyche... A shield coming from the fortress that the party stared at now. Something or someone was generating this force, but she couldn't quite figure out who. The scratching coming from the back of Eruina's mind was trying to tell her something, but she couldn't quite grasp what that thing was.
As if from some great distance a dragon seemed to give a great sigh and mumble, Why do I even bother...
I know what you mean A spidery chitter agreed.
A fiery portal opened up and Lethos called out, "Well now, look who it is." When the Phoenix lady walked out, he held out a hand to Findan. "That's be sixty gold from you." The elf king ignored him.
"Hello, Nata... Phoenix lady." He said.
She looked at him, once again with some kind of pain and sorrow. "Hello Findan. I've decided that you can call me by that name again."
"Is there any reason why, or...?" He inquired.
"Well, I, you know..." The Phoenix lady seemed slightly flustered. "I have my reasons."
"Aww, how cute." Lethos muttered in the background sarcastically. Wyngaal clouted him on the head repeatedly. "Ow, ow! Stop that you great lout!" Eruina joined in the abusing. "Oww! You too?"
As that went on, Findan continued his discussion with the Phoenix lady. "So... Ignore them. Well, Natasha, I'm guessing that this is the place that Armageddon's blade is held."
"Correct."
He nodded slightly. "Right, so. How do we get insi-?"
A different portal opened up, this one glowed a multitude of colors and gave off a flash of light before disappearing. Where it had been a tallish, plain man stood. He was wearing a silver and ancient breastplate of knights armor, carried an elven blade, and he glowed with an arcane brilliance.
Every elemental for miles bowed to him.
the other three champions stopped squabbling and looked up at the man.
"Hello. Welcome to my kingdom, little mortals." His baritone voice called out. "My name is Tarnum and I-" He stopped talking when he saw the Phoenix lady. "YOU!" Instantly she was ripped up into the air. "How DARE you come here again! I told you and your thrice blasted master before that you will never have it! I will not allow you to take the blade from me, and I warned you what would happen if you ever tried again!"
She squirmed as a crushing force crushed in on her, giving out a silent cry of pain. Findan drew his blades and had one against Tarnum's throat and the other at the Immortal's chest before anyone could blink.
"That won't kill me." He told Findan. "It didn't last time either." Findan didn't drop his blades. Tarnum gave a tired sigh and dropped Natasha (I'll be referring to her as that from now on). She lay on the ground gasping and choking on the blood from broken bones and a punctured lung that had been inflicted upon her. "You don't know what the thing is that you spared, or how much she will suffer from it, Findan. Put your blades down, elven king." Findan did so as Wyngaal healed Natasha as best as he could.
Tarnum shook his head and turned towards the fortress. "Kingdom of the elements. The elemental plains. When I became the ruler of this place, albeit unwillingly, I only wanted to stop a very corrupt man from gaining dominion over all the planes of existence. I thought that in death that I would be taken to heaven or hell, most likely heaven. But, instead, found that this plane had sunk its claws into me and it dragged me back to the throne. Do you have any  idea how boring this world is?"
Lethos nodded, and got clouted.
"I could guess." Findan said warily. "Why are you telling us this?"
Tarnum shook his head slowly. "I'm old. I'm lonely. I have time and boredom to burn. Who knows? But one thing is sure..." He glared back at Natasha, who was struggling to her knees alone and refusing Wyngaal's help. "I'm not going to watch your world crumble like mine did." He opened up a new portal. "Come, the table is set, and we have much to discus. You too, Micheal. And the rest of you as well. Including... Natasha." The Phoenix lady found that, despite her best efforts, she couldn't escape the elemental planes. "Stop trying you foolish little pawn. Now come on, the food is getting cold."
Everyone walked through, with their most powerful spells and weapons ready, yes, but all of them followed.
And found themselves in the most decorated and richly adorned Great Hall ever created. As one the group gasped at the sheer vastness of it. "Who else lives here?" Asked Lethos in awe.
"Well, let's see here... There's me, myself and I. Personally, the space is a bit big for my likings, but what can you do? This place is older than me and most of the Gods!" Tarnum answered, his voice echoing repeatedly across the great, empty hall. "Rather a bother sometimes really..."
"So why are we here?" Wyngaal asked the Immortal.
"Simple. To have dinner. Perhaps tell me of what has gone on in your world. Maybe even do a job or two for me."
"And why would we do this?" Findan asked, his hands going to his blades again.
Tarnum blinked and looked at the elf, slightly confused. "You do remember what you're here for, right? Well, I have it. I am the owner of Armageddon's blade."
As one the heroes blanched and jumped back in shock.
"Now come on, don't want your meal to get cold, do you?"
The heroes found themselves sitting around a large table filled with steaming hot foods of all different kinds, even some that had been made in other dimensions.
"Eat, my guests, and tell me about what is going on in your world." Tarnum told them. To the phoenix lady he whispered, "You may go for an hour... But you will be back, by force if necessary."
She nodded and left.

The Demon King rocketed up out of his throne. "YES! YESSSS!" He cried out as he looked at the strands of fate. "That damned Immortal is finally working how I always wanted him to! Yes, send out the blade... And bring it to my hands! Nebros!"
The Demon Lord looked up. "Yes, Sovereign?"
"When Findan comes back from the elemental planes in a week, he will be carrying a blade only he can use. Infect him with this." A small vial of the poison coursing through the Phoenix lady materialized next to Nebros. "And he will be mine within a day."
The Demon Lord took the vial. "Yes, my liege."

Don't worry, I'm giving another week, it's understandable, of course.

It's "EvInin"... I have never written your numbers wrong!

I have no idea who Tarnum is but it's your Fic so - bring him in!

Oh, oh dear! I'm so sorry evinin! Please forgive Gnomes...

Tarnum was an immortal from a game series that was a spin-off of HOMM3. He was also in the Might Campaign in HOMM4. In that game, he was executed by a rival clan who's rump the protagonist (Tarnum's foster son) thoroughly trounces.

But he was a Knight, a friend of the Elves, a Barbarian and lived among all the creatures of the world for a rather long time.

Oh, he was also the Master of the Elements. Lord of the elemental plains and master of Magic.

Makes sense that the elementals would keep their master alive, right? And that he would be the owner of Armageddon's blade, right?

To kill Markal, of course.

I mean, come on. Why not drag in some big, overpowered weapon to kill the big, overpowered sub boss?Equals and all... But I'm going to gimp the blade with allot of restrictions. Tarnum has a price for everything.

Edit: Story is there. Hope it works to fit whatever plans you made because of my random insanity...

Gnomes, I'm giving you a Tuesday narrative...

The Phoenix Lady ignored the elementals that stared at her and materialized the globe before her. She saw her master there, waiting to be brought to life again.
“They totally took the bait. I’m going to play along a little longer and I’m going to return to my other activities. Do you want me to do something else?” His wise and cold eyes pierced her.
“Didn’t I tell you something already? You are disappointing me too much lately. We need to act now. Kill that “immortal”, use all of your powers. Then give the blade to Findan and he will fall into our trap alone. He must reach his kingdom unharmed – do you understand that?”
“Yes, master. I’ll protect him as long as that doesn’t stop me from my other plans.” He nodded. The Phoenix Lady could feel his power. He was going to rise very soon and she was finally going to be free.

I would like a one for me, too. So this is going to be for two weeks ahead, we're going to wait for everyone to have some spare time.

Hi guys!

I am really sad and sorry to announce that due to private life reasons I am now facing a serious writers block so I don't know when will I be able to get back on track again. If anyone's interested, I'll write the details in PM but I don't really want to make it public.
I think it would be unfair to kill of Gotai, if anyone has an idea to continue with him, let it be. I hope I will be able to return after recovery.

But now, PeterFarkas go with tribe and family, hunt Father Sky!

Best wishes for everyone contributing in the project.

Sorry to hear that Peter. Hope good things follow.

I'm afraid I must end my part too. I'm in a difficult and intense battle with pain and am facing two different surgeries now. I've been slow to bow-out but I can see now that I am and "will be" very limited "energy-wise" and I have to learn to focus on stuff near to hand. Maps and my own personal story-writing. If I pen a thing it needs to be to my life-effort; a sequel to the Rings. I know, far-fetched but my head's there so I've zero choice. Wish me luck, blessings....whatever you call the "good-stuff".

Anyway, its been very fun and worth every effort.

You've all got wonderful talent!

God be with you in all things... to good ends

Peace, Markkur

I've been lurking around this thread for quite some time, and evinin was kind enough to offer me Isabel's character if I wanted to join in.  I'd like to take a shot at it, if you'll have me.  =]

Oh, and evinin...  Zehir is my favorite character too.  C:  It's been fun reading someone else's writing of him.
