Well I'm glad league is a game that those not blessed with good intelligence can enjoy too, it's ability to stand at the pinnacle of esports but still be appealing for casual players or those that are mechanically inapt is fantastic. I'd argue that such a game is superior to one that caters to some niche elitist player base.

So let me get this straight, you're saying that LoL is superior to DotA 2 because it's inferior enough for the casual masses to enjoy?

Actually...I don't really care one way or the other.

Yes I believe it's superior cause it can appeal to casual masses, but no, not because it is inferior. Key thing to note is 'enjoy' but not far from being able to 'play' the game, as they can enjoy it without being able to fully comprehend the mechanics of the game/champions and their interactions, the game is more forgiving at the start, not because it's inferior in complexity, it's simply because you're not thrown to the wolves right out of the gate.

Not only that, the game drastically alters based on experience, what you encounter in bronze/silver or lvl 1-30 is not the pinnacle of the game experience, the game drastically alters based on player skill and game knowledge and the funky interactions you can do with teammates is always exciting (which lower tier players may have no knowledge of), and that tingly feeling when you're all on the same page and then pull off some crazy play. It's easy to get into but the mastery of it can take years.

Aaaaand then you get tournies, at that point you can't even recognize the game, with crazy lane swaps and rotations, near perfect execution of plays and prioritisation. Sometimes entire meta changes can occur after the smallest of patches or when teams decide to do some funky **** and then win.

To me LoL is quantity while DotA2  is quality. Don't really care what good things LoL's got going for it, I never bothered to get deep into it. I can barely scratch the surface of 4.3K MMR here and I feel way in over my head sometimes.

League of Legends esports is in chaos over low pay, untimely patches, and more

Meanwhile, DotA 2 is experiencing its golden age.

Meanwhile, I swim in the toxic cesspool of DotA1's low players.

"Boots of Speed on Sniper as the first item? "
"OMG STFU NOOB

... *runs into enemy woods and gets killed*

NOOB TEAM NO ONE PROTECT ME
GG"

Guy feeds and leaves.

And that's one of many stories I have to tell, but you're already familiar with all of this because, let's be honest, it's pretty much unavoidable.
Luckily there are Garena veterans playing from time to time.  Sucks that I didn't play DotA when it was still active, but at least I get some decent games if the stars align just right for them to drop by.

About LoL - I think the big part of the audience finally grew up and found something better to play.

Sometimes I have to wonder if everybody who makes the decisions at Riot are braindead. HTC eSports was forced to take down a video were players from TSM team promoted HTC's Virtual Reality system, just because they were playing some other game.

Also, as it turns out, r/lol mods are literally nazis:
Quote:
But as we examine the landscape of advertising in the LCS community, we find ourselves at an impasse. If Riot does not want us making videos that feature our sponsored players playing other games, we do not have many options for showcasing our products. In addition, the /r/leagueoflegends subreddit mods do not accept any of our original video advertisements, including videos as well produced as “Retirement Home,” or others that prominently feature our sponsored players. Sponsors are now very limited in what we can do to market our brand and products while still supporting the League of Legends scene.

I can understand people liking the game and whatnot, sure, but when Riot goes down the path of making retarded decisions like your local politicians there's no use in defending them, just shake your head and laugh at the absurdity of it lol

Trying to make some money on the side by boosting (especially so close to the end of season people pay top dollar at this time and business is boomin). FInally managed to find the perfect role to hard carry games in 'ok' tiers (silver doesn't matter, a drunken monkey can carry that), gold and platinum, normally I'd play an assassin and just snowball, but it's become increasingly difficult to have more than 70-75% winrate even in those elos.

That said I found something that hasn't let me down yet, embracing the tank meta, mundo and olaf especially, insane amounts of dmg and practically unkillable, no mechanics to worry about (hit your q's only skillshot), and macro/map pressure is uber solid due to tankiness and dmg and ofc personal game knowledge. Last game I dived the enemy botlane lvl 7 and killed them both from full hp and I ran off with my life, by lvl 12 I was easily 3v1ing them in their inhib towers. Of course if I can get yas that's pretty much a free win as well no matter the scenario unless I mess up somehow (with boosting you literally have to be able to consistently beat the enemy team with 0 expectations for any contributions from the team).

The only possible way to counter this is to somehow snowball and pre-emtitvely go for a super anti-tank dedicated build, but the problem is and what makes my playstyle so effective, is that my clears are extremely quick and early/midgame counterjungling is both safe and profitable (depriving the enemy jungle of gold and xp), so I get ahead just through normal micro, then I make a play from that lead and snowball out of control from then on.

What's boosting exactly, something more official or like account buying?

Yea, Mundo's pretty powerful based on what I saw my brother play. I liked his Jayce and Wukong better though.

Boosting is being paid to rank someone's account up, (10 dollars per win game at times, more for promos for some reason) there's been crackdowns but mostly on challenger tier players or those dumb enough to stream while doing it, not to mention if you do it through proper channels like boosting sites you get prestige, but if you screw a customer over the website hands over your history to riot. It can be bad since can't exactly prove you didn't steal their account, but it's not a bridge I had to cross yet.

Ah, I get it. Happens in DotA 2 too, just that people call it account selling.

Btw, I saw the grand finals of the LoL World Championship some days ago. It was entertaining. Some slug games, nail biters, comebacks, and it all ended with the deciding match. Not bad, not bad at all.

Really thought it was going to be an easy 3/0, and it was but SKT messed around too much third game, and by late game they've lost all momentum turning into a 70min uber slug fest, in the end SKT was totally drained and Samsung took the game. Then they decided to bring in Blank their substitute jungler who is ****ing atrocious, great player in soloq, but atrocious synergy with the rest of the team especially Wolf (support) and Faker (midlane). Not only that he made some mind-bogglingly bad plays, zac e over the wall hitting nothing (he knew where the enemy team was they had vision ffs).

5th game they brought Bengi back and just repeated their strong early performance like in the first 3 games, but this time no baron steal and a solid and simple performance. It's why I love to watch SKT, normally it's not some flashy play that wins it for them like NA/EU teams need, it's just slow very early macro that they instantly transition into some kind of lead, then they slowly just dismantle the enemy with precision plays, wear the enemy down and give them nothing. I mean there are other teams in Korea that try to mimmick the suffocate strat, but when SKT do it, it turns into art.

SKT T1 Signed on Peanut for jungler and Huni for toplane. GG Season 7. All my fav players in one team save for Karsa (flash wolves). Peanut is one of the cutest players and always laughs and smiles:

Why do most Korean players have a similar hair style? Is it some sort of trend or what. Thank goodness I'm not forced to see the same haircut every time I watch DotA, EU, NA and SEA have more personality to them.

Huni is childish and immature but he's a kid perfectly natural lol (true many of his peers have far more dignity and self-discipline but that doesn't refute the point). Still his playstyle is so NA I love it <3.
