You know how Gelu can upgrade archers and elves to sharpshooters?
Well in Heroes 4 heroes that have a creature special ability, you know like the way Bron has Basilisk specialty and Shakti is a Troglydyte specialist.
Well those heroes should be able to automatically upgrade that creature for a fee.
I mean, c'mon, if these gusy are masters of these beast they should be able to train them away from the town right?
By the way this idea is not mine. It is JB239's.

Nice!!
This idea is simply wonderful.Heroes with a creature speciality can upgrade that particular creature.I think the cost should be reduced,just like when u upgrade creatures at the hill fort.However,heroes with lvl7 creature specialities seem rare and unique(Mutare,Kilgor,Xeron),maybe this bonus does not work for them to balance things out.After all,the speed enhancement to lvl 7 creatures are good enough
With this new system,all heroes will seem more useful,instead of just the usual few.

It will work with low level units. Cuz till now, heroes with creature specialty did nothing except +1 att, +1 deff, and +1 or +2 speed... And I still dont understand how it works, I mean how the hero bonus apply to the units.

nice idea jb/moc but i think it should cost money, and this would make creature type heroes more valuable.
although i dunno, if u got all creature heroes, u have a traveling hillfort...

Cost
It should cost gold to upgrade, but less gold than the normal upgrade cost.

Why build upgraded buildings?
One problem though... If you can upgrade troops, (for free, cheaper or at the same price as in your castle.. doesn't matter..), then why on earth would anyone upgrade any buildings in the castle that cost more than 2500 gold.. when you can get something that works as an upgraded building for that amount of gold in the tavern.. (= a hero).
Otherwise I think there is something that should be done about creature specialized heroes.. I just don't know what.. perhaps this upgrading idea could be developed somehow..?

Maybe it can go like this: build the upgraded creature dwellings will increase weekly growth a bit more.

The reasons why to upgrade is simple.
You need it now.
When I am rampart and day8 comes I usually upgrade my elves because I need that extra shot. Would still do so. Wouldn't run around waiting for that elf guy to pop up for me.
A few people mentioned it should cost gold. And yes it should. I thought I put that in the original post but just in case I didn't I am glad it was brought up.
As for the idea about getting all 7 creature guys therefor not needing to upgrade the buildings. This is very very unlikely.
You are limited to 8 and just getting 8 heroes inherant to your town is hard enough. Let alone getting all creature specilist. Let alone again when you need them. Weeks one and 2.
Also someone mentioned the lev7 specialist. Those guys were just put in for campaigns and won't be playable by humans anyway.
Also it adds strategy.
Say it's day1 and you look in your town and see a creature specialist from your opponents town. Wouldn't you buy it?
Wouldn't you hide it from the thieves guild/tavern in hopes he would keep that unit downgraded into wk 3. 4? 5!!
Would be like holding a card in your hand just to keep the guy next to you from playing it.
Anything that adds strategy is cool by me.

This idea is great but maybe make it so that if a hero has elf specialty maybe it would take twice as less EXP for the elves to evolve, but if there won't be unit evolutions and there will be the usual upgrades instead, then the specialty hero should be able to upg the elves.

hey i think you should only be able to upgrade once u already have the upgraded build, how would ya know how to upgrade em without that? sept your creature hero could upgrade that creature anywhere anytime

This idea I like! It doesn't give anything for free (making creature heroes too good).. but still adds the strategy mentioned earlier.. Thumbs up!
