"Sure. Sounds like a plan." She smiled warmly at him. "Though we might want to take some smaller bills with us. Most food items only cost between six to seven dollars, and I don't think that they have change for one hundreds."

Kane frowned slightly and looked through the drawer of cash. "Well I haven't got anything less." he said. "We'll just go somewhere pricy then, no problem! And tip alot if they don't have change."

Without waiting to hear an argument he wrapped an arm around her hip and led way out of the apartment.

Melony began to run through the expensive restaurants in her head... All the ones that she could remember, anyway. For some reason, they all sounded French...

"Well, we could go to a place called Buca di Beppo..." She suggested, keeping Kane's pace. "Though I still think it will be a bit much. Maybe we should buy some disguises and pretend that we are just eccentric honeymooners visiting this fine city. Can you speak French?"

Kane frowned. "French..." he murmured, trying to search his brain. "Vous êtes très beaux. J'espère que vous ne regrettez pas de me rencontrer de nouveau. How does that sound? I'm a bit rusty."

for a few seconds, she tried not to laugh at him. "He...Well, *Chuckle* to be honest, you sound a bit like you are swearing because you stubbed a toe and are eating liver at the same time... Maybe we should just pretend to be visitors from, I don't know, Minnesota? (AKA, the state that they both grew up in, for a little while at least) We both have that Midwestern accent to a minor degree, and I don't think that you could pull of a French-man anyway. You're too tall, strong and non-cowardly." Melony scrunched up her face a little bit. "Do heroes get to make French jokes?"

"Everyone makes fun of french people." Kane answered. "They brought it on themselves. I was really that terrible, huh? Wow, I'll really not speak more french then, I'll leave that to you!"

He smiled slightly and waived for a taxi. "Buca di Beppo." Kane said to the taxidriver. "If you get us there fast I'll tip well."

They both got in the cab.

"You know, Jack, we don't actually have to speak French when we get there. I forgot that they were Italian. Heh, might actually be a little insulting to them, given current history and all." She stopped and shook her head. "I'm sorry, am I rambling too much?"

Kane was caught off-guard by the question. "What? Why would you think that?" he asked, confused. "I think you're a delight to be around, if I found you annoying I wouldn't have taken you back to my place. Twice."

He shook his head. "You really need to be more confident, sweetheart. You should be. You are great."

The taxi driver looked back. "We are here. Twenty dollars please."

Kane pulled out one of his hundreds and hesitated a moment. "What the hell. Keep it." he got out of the taxi and held the door open for Melony to follow. "Was a pretty short ride here, if I knew it was this close we could have walked."

"You really need to be more confident, sweetheart. You should be. You are great."

Melony still hadn't stopped blushing when they got out of the car. "Do you really mean that? I know that I can be a fun person to talk to, it's just that I have this problem with going off on random tangents and rambling with people that I don't know outside of work and... I just did it again, didn't I?"

For a second she messed up her face so that it was somewhere in between a frown and a contemplative stare, and then she grabbed his hand. "Oh well, come on then! Let's see what the Italians make for breakfast!" She called out in a cheerful voice. "Oh, also. Some Minnesotan mannerisms are things like, yah, sure, you betcha' and don't ya know. Helpful, because we are, technically, in disguise..."

Kane smiled and they entered the resturant. At once they were met by a kid that should belong in highschool, pimpled and unshaved as he was. "May I find you a place to sit?" he asked without very much respect, which annoyed Kane.

"You betcha." Kane answered. "The ma'am and me would like a table for two, kinda secluded if ya don't mind. And a pair of menus. He kissed Melonys cheek as the boy turned his back to show them to their table. The resturant was pretty empty as it was still early on the day, but a few tables were occupied mostly by older people. They were seated in a corner cut off from everyone else, no one could see them and they could see no one.

The boy game them a pair of menus and were off to serve someone else. "What do you suggest?" Kane asked Melony. "I am not really used to this kindof food, but I'm always open for suggestions."

"Well now, seeing as it has to be close to lunch, otherwise they wouldn't even be open, I'd have to say that we should get..." She looked over the menu a few times, "Oo, a new item... When he gets back here, let's try out this spicy chicken rigatoni! I've always likes spicy food. And let's also get some kind of salad and side dish, you know, like garlic bread or Mozzarella sticks. Oh! And their strawberry cheese-cake, if they have it."

((Note, the larges are big enough to feed 5 people... Kane can eat allot, but I think that there will be some kind of left overs.))

"We might just order all of that and eat what we want. I bet you want heaps of strawberries, women tend to love that." Kane winked at her. "And you're hell of a woman. I am just curious, how long has Miasma been with you? There's heaps of stuff I yet don't know. Which ain't so strange, givent that I've only known you a couple of days."

"Well, I guess that I'm not like most girls then." She winked back at him and leaned forwards on the table. "I won't eat just pure strawberries. Sure, I'll inhale strawberry cheesecake, but everyone will do that."

The waiter came back, took their order (Including drinks) and left to get them their food.

When he was safely out of sight, Melony returned to Kane's question. "Miasma has been with me all of..."

Five. Miasma sheepishly whispered.

-Glad to have you back, little shadow- Melony had actually begun missing the little creature. "Seven years. And I think that at this point, we've known each other for... A day? I guess there is allot that we both don't know about each other. For instance, how many girls have you had, Jack?" She gave him an impish smile.

"Well, since I have a memory loss I have to say that you are my first." Kane gave her a corky smile. "Sorry to disappoint you. What about you? No old flames or nothin? Must've had someone in your life, someone you've been with. I mean, a cute girl like yourself."

"No, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. Nevermind that I brought it up." Kane shook his head and looked past the corner, annoyed with the bad service. "Good question, shouldn't take too long getting a few drinks. Little kid shouln't work in a resturant, doesn't know how to service people well."

The kid came back quickly after a short moment of awkward silence had passed. He was carrying a platter of bread, mozzarella sticks and garlic bread as well as their drinks. He bustled off after apologizing because the chef wasn't really awake yet and ran off again.

"You know, Jack, in a restaurant like this it usually takes a while for the food to come... So that people have time to talk." She took a sip of her soda (Too early for wine for her tastes). "And, actually, I'll be fine if you ask me... I mean, it happened when I was, oh, I don't know... eleven? I guess it shouldn't matter too much..."

"We would get to talk anyway, while the food was here." Kane answered. "It's alot of food. Anyway, it's all up to you if you wish. I won't push you or anything. Ancient history might still hurt you know, bad memories will still be bad after time."

"Oh, no. Don't worry. We covered that in therapy too." Melony looked down at her bread. "You see, the reason why I'm so willing to talk about it is... Well, this kid got into drugs and doing a few bad things and I tried to keep him out..." She began to smile broadly, "But, I guess after he blew up his parent's house, there was no stopping him."

Kane frowned. "Wait a minute. I blew up... ooooh." he were silent for a moment then he looked down. "I am very sorry about that. I guess I've lived a turbulent life, wish I could change certain things about it. Hopefully I won't disappoint you again, as I did before."
