"And judging from the tan line of your face... five to seven years."

"Uh, what? Ohh, did I just say that out loud? And in English?! Hmpf. I know that about 'when in Rome' but this is getting ridiculous! Anyway, yes, you are correct, I have not taken this mask off in about five years, give or take. But it is strange now, to not wear it at all times when I am in public... Back in Germany I was to afraid people would figure out who I was, but here...well, Mr. X's computer already knew and in a way it does no longer matter whether or not people see my real face, as I long ago abandoned the identity this face belonged to. I don't think I even remember my own name anymore!" I laughed "Anyway, my question would now be this: Should I continue to use this mask, or should I just keep it off...hmmm..." I pondered while the girl made a statement about hunting villains, which attracted the attention of on-lookers, which made me turn around and hide my face under my longcoat while quickly taking the mask on. When I turned around again I had to ask "And how do you suggest we do that? Hmm? As far as I know only Xion has the power to find other supers, and out of all things we got to find Archon! Who by all accounts have been hiding underground for the last...50? No, 70 years? Last time he was seen he butchered the Equalizer project of Genesis, and almost wiped out a human-made species...with the exception of two people." I shrugged before raising and eyebrow "How do you guys even know that Archon is alive and in this city?"

"I'm sorry if I did not sound enthusiastic, believe me, I am. It's just my nature to be sceptic of everyone. Comes from hunting corrupt police-officers and lawyers. But I guess you're right, everyone has their sources. I'm just surprised Mr. X did not know about Archon's return, thats's all. But you show me the location and the plan, and I'll help you to the best of my abilities. Heh, just give the word and I'll cook and freeze the blue monster!"

Kane smiled slightly. "You control temperature then? Sounds rather useful. Just make sure you don't cook me and Melony alive. There is no specific plan to this. If he is in a confined place we will take him on using Miasma to negate its powers. If he is in the open I will take him out over a distance using a tranquilizer dart and a sniper rifle."

Edmund searched through the vast complex of the club and opened many doors to all manner of rooms. From rec-rooms with billiardtables and pinballmachines, to a full fledged spa. Nearly all of them were abandoned at this early hour. Those few people who he saw, barely acknowledged him or did not even notice.
Edmund reasoned that Redfox had given them the heads up of him staying in the club.
After a long search, he found Redfox in a small room. He appeared to be reading a newspaper. But Edmund had learned in the past days to take nothing at face value anymore.
"Mr Fox, I'd like a word with you." Edmund announced his presence.

"Hmm?" Jack looked up "Ohh Edmund." he folded the newspaper together and put it down on the table besides him "Sure, what can I do for you?"

"Yeah, I control temprature. That is to say, I can add heat and remove heat. I can't directly blaze you up or freeze you, but by removing all sources of heat around a person or thing I can effectivly freeze that object. Also I have spent years training with controlling the heat, so I got no problems with it. As long as no one interrupts me while concentrating I should not harm you...unless you jump into the heat 'bubble', I find it easier to form heat into bubbles you see."

"That depends on...your point of view." Xion smiled "It is no guarantee that they have taken up counter meassures against you. Besides, I kind of have an plan on how you could sneak in that has 78,562741% chance of success." Xion showed a picture of an officer "This is General Tarkin, he is the man in charge of the facility. Well, the military part anyway. Now, you could possess the man, take the card, go to this part," Xion pointed to a place near the cell "Which is as close as any military is allowed to go to the cell, then leave the man and go deliver the card." Xion used his finger to follow the route "But that is the tricky part. Getting in with the general has a 98,09& chance of success, the other part depends on what defenses they got. But no matter, I got other plans that could work just as well when it comes down to it. My 'shapeshift' abilities is just as helpful as your possession, and I don't really expect you to deliver the card." Xion sat down and put his feet ontop of the table "As for my allies? Well, they are as following..."

"I had some questions regarding your club. I understand that it is for people who are presumed and declared dead. Is it not?" Edmund asked, rethorically.
"That being the case, I was in doubt about my own status. As your information-bank stated yesterday, the legal Edmund Moor vanished into thin air. Thus technically rendering him non-existant, untill he pops up again." Edmund paused, while he pondered this. He had not run through the entire situation in his head yet.
"Suffice it to say that I will, in my current state, not be accepted as being Edmund Moore. Which begs the question where that leaves me."

"Hmmm..." Jack poundered over the question "Technically non-existant could for dead I suppose. But that is not the problem is it? You feel, what? In doubt of your own claim to be Edmund Moore? Or is it that you want to be accepted as Edmund Moore by the government but don't know how? If it is the former, then you have to question the source of your information instead of me. If it is the later, well then we could always jump into the clubs private jet and go to Austria. We can then start retracing your final steps before disappearing and find out what truly happened to you.

"Well, I was in doubt if I would be accepted into the club. As I think this is one few places in the city where I can be relatively safe. Not having people trying to put me in a zoo, and all."
Edmund sighed.
"But you've seemed to read me well. I am in doubt if I actually am Edmund Moore. I couldn't give a care about the government recognising me, but if it was Austria where I turned into this. Retracing my steps there sounds like a good idea. But not today."
Then another idea hit him.
"And I'd like to know where breakfast is served, cause I have a Jones for a ham-mayo sandwich."

"Would you be able to heat up and cool down say for example a metal substance so that we could possibly trap Archon inside of it? Bury him to the waist." Kane asked. "It could possibly make sure we do not have to face him in a full on fight, as it could prove very dangerous."

"A metal substance?" I raised an eyebrow under my mask, took a look around, before seeing a empty coka cola can lying on the ground. He picked it up and sat it on top of a trash bin. I took a few step back before I stretched out my hand towards the can and concentrated on heating it up. Warmer, warmer, warmer, I kept making it warmer and warmer at the same time as I concentrated on keeping the trash bin under cool and unaffected. The can started to melt, first slowly, but as I kept warming it up it started to go faster and faster, before I suddenly removed all heat from it and any object around it. Now there was just a small melted chunk on top of the trash bin. Without a worry I took up the chunk and held it in my hand. It was quite cool and I could feel the cold through my gloves. I then turned to Jack "Positive."

Kane pursed his lips, uncertain. He reached into his pocket and brought out a big knife. "This is made from stainless steel. It is a substance with that kind of strength we would need to maintain control over Archon, and we need it melted faster. In the blink of an eye if possible, else he might escape. I will do mine to keep him in place, but afterall it took several heroes last time. I am not entirely sure I am a physical match."

"You may hurt Archons legs for all I care. We will just have to rig it so that he stays on the metal surface." Kane put the knife on the ground. "Go for it."

And now I just have to figure out how to find the snow. Kane thought.

Edited by B-E-T-A at 02:02, 26 Feb 2011.

Looking at the Knife I started imaging it melted. I took a few moments to clear my head and take some deep breaths before suddenly throwing my arms forward like if I was a wizard throwing a fireball while muttering "1000 degrees!" in German. And the knife was melted. Just as sudden as I had thrown them forward I pulled them back and removed all sources of heat around hit, with the exception of humans bodies. Then I let the temperature go back to normal. The knife was now just a layer of steel on the ground. I looked up and around "No one was hurt I hope."

"Breakfast? Ohh yeah! I forgot to show you yesterday didn't I? Well, there is the resturant down below where we mostly eat, but we got other outside spots as well. We have a few cooks who makes the food and they do take orders like ham-mayo sandwich. Provided they have the necessary ingredients of course. Hmmm, that reminds that I have not eaten breakfast myself." Jack took the newspaper and stood up "Better get that fixed."

"Is it strange if I said that I didn't feel any of that?" Melony asked. The other two realize that, while they had not been noticing (Polite way of saying ignoring) her, she had moved to within five feet of the knife. There was not a single burn on her body or clothes, and she didn't seem to be cold at all. In fact, the only difference that either of them noticed was that her shadow seemed to swell for a few seconds before condensing and that her eyes had been glowing.

"Please check your surroundings next time, gentlemen." It basically glared at them. "I would hate for somebody to get hurt." Both got the distinct impression that Miasma wasn't talking about Melony.

As it is, they just made me stronger... But we'll keep that to ourselves, right girl?

-Right- Melony smiled a little bit.

"Well imagine me standing one feet away from the heat, then you're talking ... well, heat." Kane answered, then shrugged. "You knew he was gonna try to melt it, why did you move closer in the first place?"

Kane tilted his head sideways. Miasma didn't seem genuinly upset, though she threatened them. There was something he was missing, but he couldn't put his finger on it...

"For all we know he's already gone, and we know nothing of how he looks or where he might have went." Kane answered. "And that is why I am counting on secutiry cameras, and possibly the machine mob, to find the target. If he is not there I will search the security tapes of every building nearby. If that does not help I will find the machine mob and plead to their boss' sense of survival instinct. Archon will be a huge threat to them as he can manipulate electricity and is in their area. Also, I killed the Doctor who was an enemy of the mob. A plus in their book for me."

Kane clasped his hands together. "But you are right my dear, we really should get going." he stuck his hand out for a taxi.

Melony, we are going into a dangerous place or two...

-So what, Miasma?-

I'm going to teach you a few... Tricks. Much like my own powers to manipulate the shadows...

-Oh, well that wou--

But understand that this will be very draining. So you'll have to learn fast. We don't have time to rest.
