Kane reacted to Archon by throwing both his allies several meters back and pulling out two special built .50 sig sauer. Before the beast landed he had emptied the magazine at it and drawn his twin kukris, ready for close combat if needed.

the surprise of Archon's quick attack knocked Melony out of the cool calm that she had just learned to control, but she found that she could still access her new-found power.
But there was no way for her to actually control it.
In desperation, Melony threw shadow-spears at the blue devil at random. Miasma yelled at her to stop, to get er emotions back under control, but she didn't hear it. She did hear when Kane was hit.((We did talk about this in the HCM... Wog suggested it. No power play was done.))
She saw the shadow sticking through his diaphragm, and then, for Melony, the world exploded.
Miasma gave out an un-earthly cry of pain and rage. It began to drain Archon and, unfortunately, the Commissioner as it blocked the next round of mortars with a massive shadow wall. And then it threw a few shadows at Archon, but Miasma was more focused on stopping the mortars now.

Econ saw the ghostly blue figure, and he istantly recognized him. Archon. Number One. One of the most deadly supervillains. Econ knew he could not do much more than annoy him, but he had to do something! The shadow seemed occupied blocking the mortars (something which Econ was grateful for), the man who probably was Kane was on the groundm and the policeman didn't look like he was faring too well either. So Econ lept up, high as he could go, and brought himself down with all the force he could muster on Archon's head.

After being thrown I quickly got up and dragged out two WDDI-pistols. I practically spun around and rapidly shooting at Archon, not stopping until both guns were out of bullets. Stretching my arm forward to cook Archon I find to my surprise that I can't use my powers.
"WHAT?! Why-" "Miasma has the power to drain other supers." the words of Mr. X's machine echos in my head "Damn!"
I hoist one of the pistols and get a new magazine out for the other one. "The best I can do here is shoot! IF ONLY THAT DAMN WHISTLING COULD STOP!" I shout "Whistling? Wait! Why do I hear whistling?" I look up and see the mortar shells that explodes when they hit the shadow wall above us "How did I not notice that?!"
I quickly get out my binoculars and start scouting around trying to figure out where the god damn mortars are coming from. "Bloody hell WHAT THE $HIT DO WE DO NOW?!" I shouted.

The Droids on the rooftop were operating at a break-neck speed. The mortars fired at a rate unmatched by any human military. Rex was only in controll of the lead-Droid for the time being.
"Hmmm, something is blocking my fire." The droid said in Rex' voice. "No matter, I'll just send in the second mortar team."
And sure enough on a rooftop on the opposite side of the dock-area, on an exact equal distance, stood a mortar team of equal strenght. And they opened fire.
"This confrontation is inadmissible. The time is not yet there." The lead-Droids of both teams said in unison. "Team 3 on standby."

Econ rolled off Archon and blindly began firing at where the mortar fire was coming from, before it struck him. The Machine Mob! Guns weren't going to do any good here, and he would get blasted to pieces if he left Miasma's area of protection. Suddenly, something hit him in the rib with tremendous force, and he flew through the air, crashing into a warehouse wall. He managed to land on his, but then fell to the ground.

Vlad peacefully strolled through the park, with Uruss chasing squeirlls and pigeons. Vlad called his dog and leashed it. He then went to a nearby hot dog stand. While eating he received a text message from Seth. It read:

Archon was unaffected by the bullets, as he would just weaken its constitution with his electricity and let his natural resistance take care of the rest. However, it was annoying, as was the man that jumped on him. Archon found that his powers were weakened, but he still had enough to deal some heavy damage. Archon let his electric power go inside him and then released it, creating a massive shock wave that would knock down most things near him, and probably disrupt anything that required power.
Ouroboros decided that Melony/Miasma was too dangerous to him, so he would depose of her, but indirectly. Ouroboros teleported her into the water and would let Archon's electricty take care of the rest.

Edmund made it to the Info-bank, where he powered the machine up. The image of an atractive woman appeared, Edmund seemed to recall her some kind of actress.
"How may I help you, master?" The image said, with the mismatched voice of a chainsmoking trucker. Edmund winched at the horrible mismatch of voice and image.
"Please do an image-search on Edmund Francis Roland Moore, birthdate 11-07-2004. And please pick another voice-file. This mismatch borders on heresy." Edmund ordered the machine.
"Processing....."
And after a while. "Showing all available images:" The machine ignored the order to change voice. "Image 1"
Edmund was shown an indistinct photo of people at a party. Edmund had no use for this image. "Next please."
The second image was of no use either and Edmund cycled through the images until something usefull popped up. Eventually a usefull image came along. ((Not as muscular, but you get the drift))
Edmund stared long and hard at the picture. And the more he looked at it, the more convinced he became. This was him, in his younger years and still human. This gangly teen was who Edmund used to be. The faded black T-shirt, the black trousers, the boots, the bracelets, Edmund nearly could feel them on his skin.
"Anything else, master?" the machine asked, stirring Edmund out of his thoughts.
"Eh, yes. Print a physical copy of this image." Edmund responded.
The image pulled up an eyebrow, as if questioning his decision to print this particular image. "Printing." the machine responded, it's tone equall to it's doubting look.
Edmund took the image and wandered out of the room, again lost in thought.

Miasma felt Ouroboros's power ripping it through time and space again. Unlike last time, the creation did not let a single scrap of that power escape its grasp. The next time he tried to do that, Ouroboros would fail.
As it was, Miasma found itself in the river. It felt Archon's electric current coming closer and instantly wreathed itself and Melony in a globe of darkness. The electricity tingled against the barrier and painfully ripped into Miasma's body, but nothing got to Melony. And that was all that Miasma had been trying to do.
Grabbing more shadows behind it, Miasma literally threw itself out of the water, landing next to Archon, it threw itself forcefully at the villain.
My strength is fading... Melony, don't leave me alone... Not again... It called out to her dwindling conscience.
-I won't, little shadow.- She whispered weakly back.
Miasma could only hold its new form for more than a few more seconds. They had to win. NOW

Archon raised his eyebrow at the new enemy and jumped back into the air. All of the sudden, the metal plates of the warehouse was ripped by some unknown force and wrapped itself around Archon. Despite whatever intended purpose it may have been originally used for, Archon wore it as armor and electrified the metal plates. He then charged at Melony, pulsating in electric fire.
"Jack Kane. You seem hurt. Your girlfriend has betrayed you. How will you ever recover from this without your regeneration? And how will you ever recover from this now that she has become this monster?" spoke a little voice into Kane's head. It was the same voice as the man with the silvery blond hair. "She never trusted you from the beginning. She was only using you for her own purposes until you were no longer needed. The club that you were at was planning against you from the very beginning."
The voice was no longer little and seemed to grow like some horrible parasite gorging itself off of Kane's fears and doubts. "They believe you to be a villain, not the real hero that you are. We will save you. We will heal you. We will protect you. Then with our help you can bring down this group of villains that hide under the masks heroes."
Out of seemingly nowhere jumped Minion into the fray. He backhanded the Commissioner away and ran to Jack Kane and picked him up. He then jumped onto a nearby warehouse and ran off in the blink of an eye.
"Melony betrayed you. What she deserves in return...is death."

Rex Mallard was getting frustrated by the lack of results. And thus he resorted to his time-honored solution for when things did not go his way. 'Using even more brute force.'
Mortar team 3 opened fire. Their position was rather different, as opposed to teams 1 & 2. They were several block further away and firing at a more diagonal angle, where the streets were concerned.
But Rex did not find this enough yet. No those docks and all the buildings surrounding them should be left little more than smoking craters and debriss. So he marched out a platoon of Droids, all armed with Missile Launchers. Rex left most other Droids to run their errands alone and focussed solely upon the 3 mortar-teams and the platoon. All possesed by Rex' hivemind they marched forth, shooting everything that possesed a threat and everything that did not.

As Archon was about to crash into Miasma, he stopped and jumped around, facing the platoon of droids. As they fired at him, he charged forward, while using electric strikes on the droids, destroying many of them in the process. As each mortar and missile approached him, metal plates from the warehouses flew around, hitting them before they reached their intended target.
Archon crushed a couple droids and electrocuted a couple others. He kept pounding at them until there was none left. By that time, he was very tired and very weak.

Kane was exhausted. His strength were gone and he could barely stay concious, yet he had to get to his feet. At that time the voices had started, and a minute later Minion appeared. He didn't resist, as he would most certainly not survive on his own anyway. Melony betrayed me... the thought stuck in his head, he couldn't shake it. The thought stung so much that he didn't realize his wound was slowly closing up, his inner organs was healing themselves. Am I fighting the wrong side?
Kane decided he would wait and see where Minion was taking him, though he felt certain he would see the person giving him the job a second time today.

With its last drops of time left, Miasma waited for the droids to fire the next round, and detonated the mortars as they fired, eradicating the batteries and the droids at the same time.. If it hadn't absorbed Ouroboros's power, Miasma would never have been able to hit the third mortar team. Thank you, Ouroboros. No matter how unwillingly, you just saved us all.
It threw one last blast of shadows into Archon and sent the super into a warehouse wall before it withdrew into the last of Melony's conscience, stopping its feeding on her and the others.
Melony had seen Kane being stolen by the large beast, but Archon had prevented her from stopping Minion. When Miasma dropped out of control, Melony fell instantly to her knees, aware of a massive burning sensation throughout her entire body and the mind numbing pain. As the darkness closed in on her conscienceness, her last thought was, -I'll find you, Jack.-
-I'm going to save you.-
The girl fell to the ground, covered in burns and shrapnel from the mortar explosions. The ambulances arrived shortly after.

Minion carried Kane into the dark alleyways beyond Machine Mob territory. He put Kane down against a wall, and opened up a door on the opposite side of the alleyway. He picked Kane back up and carried him down as the door closed and locked back up on its own. They entered a large smoky lounge with large comfy chairs and sofas. Sitting in one of those, smoking a cigar was the man with the silvery blond hair.
As Minion set Kane down onto the chair facing the man, he said, "I believe I have not properly introduced myself, Kane. I am Felix Erling. You will find that I have all of your money here with me, and I shall give it all to you despite your failure at being able to bring Archon to me.Since the situation has changed, you will still receive the money, but you will have to work for me and only me. The reason for this is that you have no one else to trust. I did not quite believe myself, though I suspected it. You have been betrayed by your companions. I am assuming that they are now scouring the city, looking for you, to either finish you off or use you for god knows what sort of plan they have for you. Kane, it is not safe out there with them. Melony is not your friend anymore. She is not who you thought she was. You cannot be with them anymore, nor can you try to even talk with them. They will kill you. It is only by luck and my suspicions that you survived. For now, stay here. It is safe. No one but us knows of this hideout. Luckily, it seems like you weren't hit all that badly as your wound has almost fully healed, but you must be weak. Rest here and relax while you can. This is your new sanctuary, Kane."
"Holy jesus! What the hell happened here?!" yelled out a paramedic in shock as he arrived on the scene along with his ambulance. He saw that Econ and the Commissioner were the only ones still conscious. The only other people there, a young woman, a middle aged woman, and an old man, were all unconscious and strewn around the place as well as a small army of crushed droids. As the paramedic was about to call in the cops, Ouroboros teleported onto the scene and shot him in the head. He then lifted the ambulance into the air with his telekinesis and threw it into the water. Ouroboros turned to the Commissioner and said, "Do not even think about attacking me now. You are weak and are in no shape to fight. I do not want to kill you. However, I must kill the girl. She is too dangerous to me and you. She is dangerous to us all. Of course, it is rather the thing that lives within her like a parasite that is the real danger."

Miasma had heard the last part of Oroboros's speech. "Then take me." It told him. "If I am the danger, then take ME and leave the girl... I know what you can do. NOW TAKE ME!" It cried out.

Kane wasn't sure if he could believe the other man. Melony had seemed genuinly upset and really seemed to care for him. But again, she had eventually seriously injured him. Was she indeed a traitor, waiting for the right moment to strike? Had it been Miasma? Maybe even an accident, he didn't really know. And yet he wouldn't care much, he had to get well first. As the other man mentioned his injuries not being too fatal he were surprised and had to see for himself. He felt the wound to see and found it to be almost closed. Regeneration? he thought, but cast the thought away. He should not go down that path, as it might lead to pain and disappointment.
"What is it you want from me then, mr. Erling." he asked. "What is it I can do that others cannot?"
